Man asks woman to go to his home after dinner on first date
Posted:

After he asked if I'd like to go to his house I was very disappointed and let down. We had discussed moral issues previously and he knew that I do not engage in casual sex. My interpretation is that the guy just wanted to get laid. I said something along the kines of "Perhaps some other time in the future, but not tonight."
He just asked you back to his place. I've had women ask me back to their place on the first date and nothing sexual happened. I've invited women back to my place and nothing sexual happened. I've had women invite me back to their place on the first date at we've had sex, I've also asked women back to my place and we've had sex. You don't know.
You just wrote the bloke off based upon your assumption the only reason he asked you back there was to get into your pants. Despite the fact he even said:
"I just want you to know that I didn't have intentions of anything romantic taking place." I didn't respond to that and I changed the conversation.
Yet you never even gave him the chance to prove his intentions were honourable.
You may well be correct, but he at least deserved the chance to prove you wrong. By not responding to his protestations of innocence, you've already pre-judged him.
It's hardly a good way to start out.
<div class="quote">My interpretation is that the guy just wanted to get laid.
And by doing this, he is paying the price for every man who ever tried to sleep with you on the first date.
One thing that 'gets my goolies' is when somebody makes an assumption about me or my motives without bothering to ask me. 'You only did this because...' , 'You invited me back to your place because...', 'You said that because...' get my drift?

Oprah show ending - Arrogant to the end.
Posted:

I would rather people were influenced by Oprah's "flaky, new-age ideas" than a modern-day Hitler espousing racial hatred.
Like a certain Sydney-based shock-jock who totally abused the influence he had and provided the catelyst for the racial riots on Cronulla beach. Influence cuts both ways, for good or bad. Throw in a certain ex-boss of mine who looms-large on the international media scene.
I appreciate what you say FFS, I'm just uncomfortable with any private citizen having that sort of influence.

I wanted to like Oprah but the bottom line for alot of people including myself is we feel that she influenced thousands of people with a New Age agenda that is just wrong. She had an internet course with an author from her book club named Eckhart Tolle who teaches false doctrine. The fact that she appears to be one way but then can influence people in a certain direction because of it is dangerous.
This is a problem I have with her too. The incredible influence she has is open to abuse, and when she embraces flaky issues, millions of people go along with her because it's Oprah saying it.
I have a problem with people who are non-elected and therefore non-accountable, using their popularity to shape public opinion.
A book goes to the top of the best-seller list because she recommends it, Dr Phil is suddenly a household name because she has him on her show, Obama is elected President partially because of her influence, people do it on her say-so instead of making up their own minds.
My issue is not gender or race-specific. I would hold the same position no matter who it was.

By trashy I mean lower income people who don't like paying for things while exploiting waitstaff, running them, and trying to sabotage the dining experience in hopes of being comped.
Kind of like Homer Simpson? I know the type.

No, not really. I normally tip 20-30% when I go out if service is good. 15% is the MINIMUM that one should leave behind to make sure that the waiter is duly compensated. However, people would stop leaving tips at all a lot of the time even when the service was exceptional if gratuity is included in the menu pricing. Thus, I think 20-25% would give waiters/waitresses the amount of money they currently recieve. We don't want to cut the nose off to spite the face here.
I'm curious about the notion of 'not all restaurants are created equal'. There may well be places which charge a premium for the food (well in excess of their actual overheads) and the customer is expected to tip the wait-staff on top of that. The wait-staff are exploited, the customers are out of pocket and the owner comes out ahead, with the patrons doing his job for him.
Of course I realise the restaurant business in most places is a low-margin game, but a genuinely realistic and fair minimum wage for wait-staff would have to be something to aspire to surely?

I have no problem with the term because it specifically relates to women's underwear.
Not a bit fan of the g-string though, love the ones that resemble men's boxer briefs, women look so hot in these.

Europe has reconized this but the US way behind on this issue .
Absolutely correct. Working in Europe, I know that mobbing, in schools and in the workplace, is something recognized and dealt with.
Probably because the US generally has a poor record with embracing individuality. In many places, such as schools and colleges, the pressure to conform and 'join in' is great. 'Outsiders' are often ostracised and excluded.

So first date is nice, we meet, eat (she's a vegetarian, not a problem though)
Why should it have been a problem?
Then the bomb shell.
She's an atheist.
Now all of the sudden I have this image of heads in her refrigerator and one of them is mine. Almost choked on my beer. Now she is more drunk then I so I am giving her some slack on what's rolling out of her filthy mouth as the night goes on.
Exactly why is her being an athiest a 'bombshell'? Did she not have 'non-religious' on her profile? I would be more concerned on her part that you have your imaginary friend.
You never explain what's coming out of her 'filthy mouth'. Was her language colourful, or did she just upset your religous sensibilities?
All I got from your disjointed, judgmental rant is that she was a vegetarian, hated her job, was an athiest, maybe used expletives and couldn't handle her liquor.
I also got you were an idiot for going on 3 dates with somebody you obviously weren't suited for.
Then it's," your not my type, i don't see guys like you, your not smart enough for me". Ok so we got uncaring, unholy and degrading. AWESOME!
This might have been the OP's REAL problem, he couldn't keep up with her intellectually. Being an athiest probably mean't she was a free-thinker and didn't buy-in to religious dogma.

Sorry to be so blunt here but I only remember 1 woman that didnt shave, but after I mentioned it she did.... Most women have gotten with the times..
I would never be so arrogant as to expect any woman to change her shaving preference just for me. Most women I know would quite-rightly tell me to go to Hell for being so presumptuous.

Right now, the entire debate going on assumes employers will continue to be allowed to treat a worker's hours as though the worker will never age, never need to stop working. That is how we are paid today. Foreign competition with nations with totally different systems of pay and totally different expectations of quality of living are allowed to determine how low employers are allowed to pay us. All economic calculations within a private company are based on the assumption that one worker hour is the same as another, and that once the worker is no longer required, or no longer able to work, he becomes SOMEONE ELSE's financial responsibility. There is no recognition that as you use a workers hours, you use up their LIFE.
Beautifully put.

You're never going to get it out of him, after starting the thread and inviting strangers to give advice on the fate of an employee he's overheard, he now arrogantly assumes the moral high-ground (which he never had anyway by coming on this thread) by keeping 'mum' about it.

This would be wrong/false. Pubic hair has a function. It contains/concentrates pheramones/scents. It acts like a cushion during sex. It protects delicate tissues from irritation by clothing. Absorbs and distributes moisture.
I love the visual aspect as well.

.while i agree that servers in restraunts should be paid better it is the responsability of their employers and not me..or perhaps government to hold them accountable to he minimum wage laws..
I really don't know what we've been arguing about, because this was the point of my posting, and on this one we agree. I just think it's a strange culture when you go out for a meal and it's not a simple matter of paying what's on the menu at the end of the night, it actually costs you a lot more.

Roman Polanski Arrested
Posted:
11/20/2009 10:22:38 PM
Friends and fans from the Hollywood film circle have been campaigning to prevent Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski being extradited to the US.
The 76-year-old's actress wife, 43-year-old, Emanuelle Seigner has started up a petition calling for the release of Roman, who is currently being held in a Switzerland prison.
She is hoping the addition of A-list signatures will help the case.
Emanuelle is good friends with Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, wife of French president Nicolas who is backing the director and says he would like to see "a quick resolution to the situation".
She has also drawn support from film-makers including Pedro Almodovar and Stephen Frears with actress Deborah Winger saying, "We hope this latest order will be dropped."
Your point being?
Because he is a friend to the rich, famous and influential he shouldn't answer in court?

I dont think he should get a long sentance .....
He was the one that got robbed, you should be allowed too do whatever it takes too secure yourself.....I mean like who says if he didnt shoot them that they wouldnt of shot him?
Of course, that's perfectly reasonable, the kid deserved to get a bullet in the head and then five more in the chest at close-range as he was lying on his back on the floor.
What if the chemist found somebody stealing a pack of condoms in his store? Would he cut off the bloke's d*ck?
you should be allowed too do whatever it takes too secure yourself.
Whatever it takes? I would have thought the initial bullet in the head to be more than enough don't you think?
I dont think he should get a long sentance
(sic)

I think they should throw away the key.

Thanks for the insult. Just curious why anybody would think it's okay for somebody in a supposedly First World country to be paid $2.50 an hour? It's obviously not your moral imperative, but it is many people's.

People work in the hospitality industry at their own volition and are governed by the Australian Fair Pay and Conditions Standard. The Standard contains five minimum conditions of employment that are legally binding on all employers.
And these are all accommodated in the menu price, the figure on the menu is the figure you pay at the checkout. If your service was great, you can leave a tip on top of it, but the waitstaff aren't forced to jump through any humiliating hoops just to make minimum wage.
But, as other posters have pointed out, the thread specifically relates to conditions in America, I'm just glad I live here where being a customer and being a server are relatively painless.
But if people in the US are working as waiters/waitresses at only $2.50 per hour then that speaks volumes about your system and disregard of workers at the lower rungs.
The Worldwide Economic Crisis has brought out the best and worst of people this past year, with many of the 'haves' looking down on and sneering at the 'have-nots'. You only have to look at some of the postings on other threads to see a singular lack of humanity with some of the posters (I've got mine and screw the rest!).
As i said, I'm glad I live here.

when some insane or extremist person who is a Muslim and says he is acting as a Muslim does something heinous, the entire Islamic population of the US becomes the target of abuse and antagonism, ordinary, innocent people. Yes, it is a hate crime.
You only have to look at some of the paranoid postings on the Ft Hood thread to see xenophobia at it's worst.
I lived in Indonesia, amongst over 220 million Muslims and had no problem. The radical few in any society will taint the reputation of the many. This applies to the United States also.

Unless you have a company policy of "no sleeping with co-workers / only meaningful relationships," then this implies a personal agenda here.
The 'elephant in the room'. The OP comes on a dating site to crucify an employee over the contents of a private conversation, dressing it up as a simple HR issue, when the real issue here is his personal moral compass.

I myself wouldn't mind having a blowjob buddy. Now calling her anytime during the day and then having her come over at a moments notice for my pleasure...would be so awesome..lol
Me either.
It's so wild doing it in a moment of spontaneity, on the tennis court early on a Sunday morning, in the dark at the cinema, in a car anytime, at work in the audio booth, at the beach.
Love to reciprocate too. The playful attitude is the key here, if you have no hang-ups and just accept pleasure for pleasure's sake, then go for it.

P.S. If it was a woman talking about a man like that it should've made you smile... :)
Interesting thought. I'm wondering what the OP would do if he had overheard the woman in question having a similar conversation, supposedly private, with a co-worker? She menions she would love to have sex with a particular bloke just to see what it was like to have a white guy f*ck her? She then goes on to say some offensive stuff about caucasians in general.
Would the OP be disgusted and want to fire her on the spot, despite her job proficiency? Would the OP go running to HR and have her written up? Would the OP, as some have suggested on this thread, engage in a campaign of passive-aggression to force her out of the company.
Or would the OP do... nothing?

BTW, her use of I'm Every Woman, she's related to Whitney Huston and promoted that song along with Whitney some years ago. I don't think they are close, but she did not hijack the song. LOL
You miss my point.
I was suggesting the song implied Winfrey herself was 'every woman'. She is a shameless-self-promoter, even has her own magazine with her face on the cover of every single issue.

IMO...your career is your field of work.
Your job is where you are doing it at.
Nicely put.
You also may have to do other jobs unrelated to your field of expertise to support your career.
I own my own business and I've been very impressed by my performance of late, so I think I'll promote myself to 'Super-Dooper Boss!'.... what? No pay rise? Who do I have to sleep with???!!!

For me the beauty is often found in the imperfections.
The female form is amazing to me, females in general are amazing, their company is much more interesting than a bloke's.
I love the way the male and female bodies fit so nicely together. I love the curves, the breasts, the feel of a woman. Better stop there I think. lol

If you're referring to some of the postings on this thread being a little graphic, this is an open forum about sex, we all do it and it's perfectly natural.
If you're offended, then stay away from the thread and leave your narrow musings at the door.
What I find offensive and utterly disgusting is you attempting to impose your moral views upon the rest of the forum. You only pick the men, yet the women have been just as graphic in their descriptions and thoughts.
Nobody is interested in your righteous indignation.

Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop

He has many great traits, funny, makes me laugh, is fun to be with, is a great cook and helped me with the move as much as possible. He is cute and intelligent and witty.
Which doesn't trump the fact he is a control freak and a jerk.
How many red flags do you need?

Silent Sex

When you have kids, you have no option than to try to be as quiet as you can, it can actually be pretty hot.
Also, sex in situations can be mindblowing, and that often involves suppressing your natural urge to vocalise.
I have known several women (one in particular) who are really loud when they come, and that is such an absolute turn-on!

Is being woke up with sexual favors rape or not?

I've woken women up with my tongue numerous times, but only after it's been discussed beforehand, and it's always been warmly received.
However, I would never presume to attempt intercourse with any woman, relationship or not, unless I am positive I have consent, by this I mean she initiates it, tells me she wants to or says YES when I suggest it. This is one thing, at least as far as I'm concerned, where there is no room for ambiguity.

Men over 45 who dye their hair

Men don't need to wear make-up or worry about laugh lines and crow's feet. That doesn't mean they don't need to take care of themselves to look good: good health habits tend to help keep a person looking attractive, fit, etc., but culturally men are allowed to age in a way that women aren't.
I agree with good health habits and I will concede your point about men being allowed to age in a way women aren't, and thank goodness for that, otherwise I might have had to pack it in when I hit 30 and started losing may hair! lol
I just accepted I'd never again have the long hair of my youth and went with it. No wigs, no 'smothers' (comb-overs) and no hair transplants, they're almost always obvious and not flattering.
But there are some women, yourself amongst them, who have aged really well, and many others who wear the lines they've earnt from years spent smiling and laughing equally well.
Smiles and the lines they make are beautiful.

Sarah Palin Stepping Down As Alaska Gov. Running for Pres. 2012?

The problem with that interview and her remarks, in my opinion, was that Palin wanted Americans to believe that she had foreign affairs experience based on the proximity of Alaska and Russia. No matter how great she looked in a skirt, she just didn't have the sophistication required for the office she sought.
The Katie Couric interview was very illuminating.
Many people might take refuge in 'folksy' charm and bumper-sticker slogans substituting for reasoning, but the world-at-large expects any potential 'leader of the free world' to actually know what's going on outside of the US (or inside it for that matter).

opinions please - is my friend bisexual?

Sometimes, when we hang out, he asks me to "get him off" (with my hand).
I don't think I've ever had a male friend, gay or straight, who has asked me to do this.
I would never even ask any of my female friends to do this if we weren't already on sexual terms.
I'm just wondering how you would bring it up in conversation with another bloke? lol

It's hilarious how only a few in this thread understood the topic.
Interesting the things that amuse you.
I understood it alright, like the dreadful old joke about the definition of 'eternity' being the time between when you come and she leaves! The point I was making was that, for me this doesn't happen with the right partner, other factors negate any physiological effects.
but most of the time I feel guilt or dirty RIGHT AFTER HAVING AN ORGASM[/quate]
Raised a Catholic perhaps?

Kissing during sex; cuddling after sex.

no, kissing like that is a lot more intimate to me than sex..
Agreed. Kissing is underestimated. Done right it can often be much more intimate than sex.
I couldn't imagine not kissing during sex though, amongst other things.... lol
