call the cops, get rid off him, he is not good for your kids if there are threats of violence. As for getting back in the work world, just do it! I'm a Single dad and had to take action against the ex, Its a challenging life taking on all the responsibilities, but at the end of the day my life is great because of my little person, even though dateless
