DRIVING IN THE SNOW......
Posted: 11/28/2006 4:46:16 PM
Wow how coud we not remember that tires are so very important, and chains.

FYI: noone said Gas= better traction.. but no gas = more cars alongthe side of the road, in others way to hit.

As for Townline hell yah walk or sled. hahaha.

here's a fun story.. use to drive coffee truck, good old 80's gmc.. 450 really good pull. (yes rear wheel drive), to get confy with driving in the snow, use to take it to empty parking lots and run donuts, get the feel of the road conditions. Practice does help

Neutral does work so very well!

So to all of those that practice fair, good or lousy driving in these conditions.. have fun and smile. Snow is beautiful. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Certainly brightens up my day.

DRIVING IN THE SNOW......
Posted: 11/26/2006 9:46:28 PM
ok had to say something.
Yes manual is the best, i use a 6 speed myself. One can use their auto the same shift down, slow down, or go into neutral, usually lowermainlanders are not prepared and get stuck in long line ups and run outa gas.
Fill 'er up, be cautious, and for heavens sake, clear all the snow so we all can see you and vice versa(lightes included).

I am in Ktown, and the snow here is way differesnt then on the coast. (use to live there many years)

no matter how experienced one is, that snow there is too unpredicable, black ice, wettness, dryness, it is way different.

Anyone who thinks that thier '4by' is gonna save them in these conditions... well like was pointed out.. gives a whole new meaning to "OFF ROAD" :

Take care everyone out there.

who else is loving this FALL SUNSHINE ;-)
Posted: 9/26/2006 8:16:14 PM
Love this time of year!
Walk at the local creeks and watch the Kokanee swim up stream. They add to the colours of the season.

How can on not enjoy this, such beauty. Warm evenings are the best for walking.
The lake gets so calm and pretty.

Enjoy the next few days of it.

play darts anyone?
Posted: 8/19/2006 12:25:42 AM
Yes Use to play darts as well.

I however would have a long roadtrip to join,, so enjoy all.

Wanting to know of a place, I undersatnd that in Newton near the wave pool there is a pub, (well a few). but I know there is one that some friends play a league there thurs. I believe.. starts up in the fall.

One way to find out is to ask. Check it out, see what you find.

I have some old darts they are a keepsake.

Your right ,,, bar darts do not work well... I like to play pool as well not any good but like to play.

Fire

Yes fires are devastating. Natural too.
As for the dopes who chuck out lit cig's Hello!! what are you thinking, oh and then there are those that leave glass behind for the sun to lite up what is underneath, like duh.. No Fires

As a smoker I either donot smoke while driving, or if I do I have a cup and water to put it out.
Doust the butts, fires and pick up your garbage at the camping area's.
Wether it is a camp site or in a natural setting. wilderness realies on humans to take care.

Mother is where we live, and want to keep it that way.

The one that got away!
Posted: 7/28/2006 10:58:22 PM
Yes there are many moments I think of special people, I dont have in my life now, wether it was from my teenage years or recently.
It would be great to a "catch" up with them.

Mostly thinking of friends from my earlier days.as a teento late 20's. I value the time we had, it would be great to have been in contact with them still.

All good tho' who knows, we might just bump into one another in the future.
Did I let them slip away, did they let me slip away, lifes circumstances.. was it meant to be, was it mutual maybe,
What ever is will be, what ever was.. won't . Is gone.. non retreivable.

In the thought,... this thread is great.
I thank you for asking.

Best insults to pick-up lines
Posted: 7/25/2006 11:46:08 PM
ok Working on a coffee truck. in the old days..lol

One stop I would dread, as this male was obnoxious, rude and just a P I G even his 'buddies' would tell him to shut up.

So I see him in the line up to buy some lunch.
He looks me up and down, then at my jeans, and says "boy would I like to get into your pants" of course, calmly I replied.. "Oh thanks... but I already have one a$$- hole in my pants!" smiled and carried on.

Ok Even his buds rolled on the ground. He was very polite there after. I still get a great laugh from this.

Dam, loved them days.

ok carpi pants are ok from my point of view, altho when I wear them they become 'flood pants' as I am short legged. wearing long shorts become peddle pushers or 'clamdiggers' that is another retro term for them.

As for the dress with pants,, , ehem.... uh well when I was yonger(very young) my oldest sister wore that outfit, it was the fashion. Girls were not allowed to wear pants to school so they covered the lastest trend with a dress or skirt. . Imagine that. I still remember wearing that in the winter as 'tards were to troulbe some.

So yes carpi's, peddle pushers, clam diggers, long shorts, short shorts, what ever is confy and still looks good.
I yo think it doesn't look good then do look. Women no matter what like to be confy too.

As for Mens fashion well let me say those short pants or long shorts hanging down around the waist ....ewwww get some style and try the 'boy shorts' show us some leg too waxed of course.

the first fish I ever caught... never go there it is bad...lol. I like to bar fish as well troll, cast, hook and worm, you bet, flying is best!

So now that you realize there are some ladies out here that flyfish keep on trolling am sure there are a few more.
