After my wife passed away I had to pick up all the traditions. Let me tell you it was interesting at best; We learned how to make some the the worst looking iced cookies ever. I couldn't get the dang things to quit sticking in the cutters. Poor santa looked terrible with out a head. The shrimp and scallops were ok on xmas eve. But, had no idea how to make the egg nog. way too much rum applied. almost forgot to put the gifts under the tree. Christmas is always spent here at home. So, I was quite capable of the dinner.And we always stay in the same house xmas eve.

I think this is a big Duh! If she is with you every weekend she is with you. She doesn't come see you out of obligation. She does it because she wants to. Don't question her. Your lives have changed while she is in school. Stick by her and support her. It will pay dividends down the road for both of you. And find something to do during the week............

I've been down this road and lost a woman I really cared about because I was not Patient. If I had to do it over again I would let him and his Mother deal with all the rules and I would just be the fun guy to be around. I would give him more time to get used to me being around and understand when he is bored and no buddies around he is going to want to have his Mom to himself. And quietly sit on the back burner and wait. As they get older they are around less. I should have understood that they are just protecting what they have left and being cautious about who they let in. (Nothing wrong with that)

It's a two way street. I have a 12year old and 21 year old still at home with me. I have seen profiles from women who stated if you have children still at home don't reply. You just have to ignore that and understand that raising children is not for everyone. Sometimes I don't know why we can't have a 7 year lease. If you get a bad one you can trade it for another. lol But, all kidding aside. Yes , there are plenty out there that don't care if you have children as long as you act like a concerned parent and watch your children.

You are thinking too hard and too far into the future. You are loosing a chance to go out and have a good time. So, if I was single and had no children I would be higher on the dating list. Not all single parents had failed marriages. Some are widowed and know how to make a relationship work. That would put the single ones with-out children lower on the list then. Right?
