What are your first-date dealbreakers?

Smokers! Ugh! Sorry but I just can't deal with that. Also when they are not polite and can't even say thank you for dinner - very rude!

Best time of year for Disney?
Posted: 10/17/2007 6:45:18 PM
Welcome to Otown! Yep, I'm a Disney Kid for Life as well! The best time is right now! Less crowds, discounts for locals and cooler (sort of) weather. Also, dont forget to check out the Epcot food and wine festival going on right now!
Enjoy!

Things to do in central Florida....
Posted: 10/3/2007 3:21:13 AM
Yep, plenty of theme parks to go to! Love Disney!
But even if your dont want to spend $200, there are plenty of public parks, and dont laugh, but the Orlando Science Museum is actually fun and they have an IMAX theater which is included with your admission.

Lots of things to do - just get out there and explore and have fun!

How to heal a broken heart?
Posted: 4/25/2007 3:13:50 PM
First off, thank you Krystal, at least you can understand what I went through, though you got to spend much more time with yours. I am very sorry for your loss.
Only time can help and heal, and then you must be willing to let someone else in your heart again - that is the most difficult part.

So Texas, now he is pushing you away? Not to be negative, but more realistic, he may have moved on and met someone else or wants to meet someone else. You need to get your life back on track and get out there and live your life and not worry about him at this point. If it was meant to be, then you will get a call or email from him.

In the meantime dont just sit there waiting by the phone. Get out and have fun!!!

why are men so rude to women, judging them by looks
Posted: 4/23/2007 3:03:28 PM
Well I have had better luck in Court than in the love and relationship game! And that is exactly how many people treat it - as a game. That is the first of many problems/issues people need to get over. It's not "Oh I'll get you before you get me" or " I dont know you, but I know I'm better than you" or my favorite one 'Oh I am better looking tahn you so I dont want to be seen talking to a troll like you" That is all crap.

The problem is people fear change and or things they do not know about. So instead of getting to know someone, they act like asses! I have met so many women that even though we never hit it off romatically, we still gained a friendship, and as most of you know, most friendships outlast most dating relationships!

So quit being so close minded people! Can't we all just get along?

Attraction
Posted: 4/23/2007 2:39:06 PM
hahahaha.. well Ron I am the LAST person to ask about relationships, but I have learned quite a lot in just the past year about myself and others. Women have told me that I am pretty well in tuned with them so I guess that is a plus of some sort! lol!

I seem to be a bum magnet - if there is a female bum within 100 miles I'll attract her!

See ya at the PoF party this weekend!

Attraction
Posted: 4/21/2007 2:03:24 PM
Thats great Sherlock that you could salvage a friendship out of that relationship. Unfortunately most of the women I have dated have just vanished in to the world. Once in a blue moon I get a "How's Life" email from one of them. LOL!

As for your topic of attraction, I was going to post something very similar. Let's all be honest with ourselves: Looks are what usually draw us together. Everyone has thier own thing. Maybe it's the eyes, or hair, or legs, or whatever, but there is SOMETHING that attracts you to that person at first.

Not bragging, but I have dated (and married) my fair share of beautiful women. Strippers, business women even a Playboy Playmate, but after awhile most lost my attention. Yes they were beautiful but lacked that special something inside - at least for me. It's the chemistry you share with that person that makes it truly special.

Now I'm not going to rush out and sleep with some bum on the street, I still have my standards (and weakness for beautiful blonde women) but over the years my eyes have opened to other qualities I want in a mate. So the next time I meet a "hottie" if she doesnt have the other qualities I'm looking for, I'll just move on to the next one until the right one walks into my life.

Thank you Sherlock101 and Dovestreasure for your kind words. I didn't mean to over shadow Texaspamc's story, but I just wanted to show her that moving is not the end of the world. Even in death, life still goes on. It is very difficult trying to explain something so close and personal to somone else and expect them to understand how you feel.

I hope you will share some insight to your story Texas. Hopefully you will see things in a different light, and maybe be a happier person.

Even time can not heal some wounds, but that is all we have, some more than others.
Believe me, there are many days and nights I think of her, and I know I will never forget her. Whoever I meet down the road will know about her and how she changed my life forever. Still we must keep moving forward with our lives.
Remember the good times, smile and be thankful for what you have.

Exactly Sansand! Thank you! Yes the bias swings both ways, but let's not kid ourselves here and be realistic. Most o fthe time it is that PHYSICAL attraction that draws us to someone. Period.
Who here has looked across the room, saw a total stranger weighing 400 lbs and said out loud "MY GOD WHAT AN INCREDIBLE PERONALITY!!!"
Your Honor, I rest my case.

It's not that easy Ron. There is a thing called chemistry that comes into play when you meet someone - can't just pick from a list and BAM! instant romance!

If people TRULY wanted to do something, they would be more realistic and stop looking for Barbie and Ken (My name is Ken btw! So here I am ladies! Heheheheheh) and stop being so rude when someone says hello. I think way too many people carry baggage and use it against those they never even met before.

My 2 cents

are there any real women out there
Posted: 4/16/2007 3:01:05 PM
Hmmmm..I was about to post the same thing. Seems like all I meet are shallow, lying gold diggers (that is not being negative, those are facts.) I hear women say they would like to meet a good guy, but the ones I've met so far could care less.
All my friends say I am a great catch, guess not using the right bait!

I am a hopeful romantic, so I know one day she will walk into my life - I just wish she would pick up the pace! Heheheheh...

Seriously, where are you????

Well, when someone says drop me a line, and I do and dont hear back from them or see they just deleted it without reading it, then I say "whatever" and move on.

As far as I am concerned it is their loss if they can't be friendly with others.
So don't let those people get to you. You actually give them more power by
****ing and obsessing about them. Just forget them and move on with your life.
Think positive and the right people will come into your life.

How to heal a broken heart?
Posted: 4/15/2007 11:03:37 AM
Ok, so is he going to Michigan for LIFE or just six months? There is a big difference you know. If the love is there, then it will endure a mere six months.
So why heartbroken? Or is there much more to this story you are not telling us???
Did he say it was over or did you decide that?

Here is one for you: Over a year ago I got divorced. Just when the emotional scars had started to heal (she had cheated on me) I met THE ONE. It wasn't lust or love or whatever - It was my one true soulmate. She looked so incredibly beautiful. We looked across the room, locked eyes and that was it. We were both deeply connected and in love - you just know it. I never felt that way with my ex-wife. We connected on every level and saw eye to on on every subject - it was truly amazing!

We shared three beautiful months before it happened. One day she passed out on her way home. At the hospital she was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of Leukemia. Needless to say this was devistating for everyone. And on top of it all, she was only 21. She fought long and hard, but her poor little body just could not take all the abuse from chemo and other horrible "cures" (which I feel are barbaric!).

She was in sterile intensive care (no visitors allowed) for months. So the last time I saw or spoke to her was last Thanksgiving. The last thing she told me was that she wanted me to go on and live my life to the fullest, not for her but for myself, because it was my spirit that drew her to me. She lost her fight last month.

So now what do you do? Obviously you mourn - it is natural. You think, you remember, you laugh and cry, but take the best of what you had together to heart, get back up on your feet, and get on with the rest of your life. Will the scar heal completely? Probably not. But I know that I must move on and offer what I have to someone else one day. I have a lot to give, and I know there will be somone else who wants to share with me. So I just keep my head up, smile and focus on myself again.

My situation is a bit more extreeme than yours. So I hope you can put things into perspective. Moving is not the end unless YOU choose that to be. YOU are the only one who can decide what happens next in YOUR life. I do wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

Ken

To me an open minded person is someone who does not judge, but is open to new ideas and thoughts. This does NOT meet they will sleep with you! LOL!
So just because they say they are open minded, don't be offended if they turn you down for a date. They just were not the one for you.

Stay focused on yourself and your good qualities and stay open minded yourself, and one day that special person will walk (or type) into your life!

why are men so rude to women, judging them by looks

*** NEWSFLASH! NEWSFLASH! NEWSFLASH! ***

Woman can ALSO be VERY mean, cruel and judgemental! GASP!
Yes there are two sides to every story, and I've been in both.
I've been blown off by many women because I'm not "American looking enough"
Whatever that's suppose to mean. Another newsflash ladies, the only TRUE
Americans are AMERICAN INDIANS!

First of all, let's face it, it is human to be attracted to somone we find attractive. Otherwise we probably wouldn't have noticed them in the first place. Now that will be different for everyone. My buddies LOVE Asian women, but since I am part Asian, I prefer good ol' American blondes.

However, once you get to know that person, then the dynamics change. I have met my share of hot, beautiful women who had the personality of a wet sponge. On the other hand, I have dated women who may not be hot models, still attractive, but what's inside of them makes them even more beautiful than any "hot babe".

So, basically, don't worry if that hot guy or hot girl passes you by. Chances are you wouldn't want anything to do with them anyway. Stay positive about yourself and focus on YOUR good attributes. That's what make YOU attractive to others.
Be good to yourself, and one day that special person will walk into your life.
