Who Is going to be the next US President?

"The essential principles of our Government... form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty and safety."
Thomas Jefferson
Stop the madness, if a revolution is nessecary, so be it.

There was once a man who was kind and good. He did right by all his entire life and, at the dawning of his golden years god appeared to him and praised his goodness. God said to the man "For your life of ritiousness I shall grant you one wish, what shall it be?" The man replied "Well god, there is one thing I'd really enjoy. I am deathly afraid of flying and I get violently seasick but I've seen pictures of the beaches of Hawii and would love to go there. Could you build me a highway across the ocean so I can drive there?" God was a bit taken aback by such a selfish request and said "Do you realize, the inpracticallity of this thing? With the resources it would consume, it would cause many to go hungry. I'm going to give you a week to rethink your request.
One week later god returned and the man said "God, you're right of course, so I have a much simpler request. I would like to understand women."
God replied "So, would you like that highway to be 2 lanes of 4"

we don't click on phone

For me, the problem with the phone is the lack of eye contact. When you are writing to someone, you have time to construct what you are trying to say. In person there is a wealth of body/eye language to help you along. The phone gives you neither. Invariably, and especially with someone I REALLY have a lot to say to, we wind up trying to talk at the same time and doing the "go ahead, no you go ahead" dance whereas a simple eye cue tells you when someone is done talking.
Successful phone conversations are about deciphering the other persons modus operandi of communication. Knowing what it takes for them to articulate a thought.

It's always fun when this topic *comes* up. I'm really spontanious so I have a lot. Some of my faves have been: graveyards, fitting rooms, janitor's closet at the mall, at concerts, in the glass elevator at the Rennesance Center and lots more. If you really want to hear about them, write and ask. But my alltime favorite was on a catwalk in front of a lighted billboard overlooking Michigan Ave. in Detriot. It was on top of an apartment building and we got spotlighted by the cops and had to bail. Luckily it was a big building and they never caught up with up.
I love the chained to a tree in central park bit. that's a classic right there.

Truly, tis more noble to be pissed off than pissed on.
OK just jacking with you, I actually do have something to say about this. I find life to be a lot like pac-man (oh crap I just dated myself), you can only control one thing on the screen. In short, the extent of the domain that you can reasonably expect to control pretty much stops at your ears. If these are people you care about, this can be a bit of a sticky wicket but all you can do is encourage them and lead by example.
Good luck, bud.
PS. Dating myself was fun, more people should try it! I'll be taking appointments starting...............NOW!!!!

Has anyone found the secret to making it work?
Posted:

To make it work you must:
Keep things in balance
Pop the hood and examine the guts once in a while
Listen for funny noises
Keep it cool
Change the oil every 3000 miles

Noone said it but for the sake of all humanity ***(battens down the hatches and prepares to get bashed for saying this)*** I don't think requiring a basic common sense test before allowing someone to breed is completely out of line.

Speed of light is a common misconception. The "C" in the relativity equasion refers to the velocity of the quanta ie. "packets of light" commonly described as 780,000 ft/sec, which is a constant, derived from the mass of light Vs. the surrounding frictional energy.

I had a real winner two weeks ago. We chatted, we talked on the phone, we were getting along great. She lived about 3 hours away, I had a day off, fab. I go to her town, call her up, she comes out to meet me with two kiddos in tow (Red Flag #1 but still, fab) We had a very nice lunch at the lake with the kiddos playing in the water, fab. She says "OK, I'm going to go drop the kids off and I'll be right back" Right. She's gone 30 min, fab. She's gone an hour, I scoot into town for a sixer and some dinner. When I get back to the lake theres a party getting started, so I'm there until about 2 AM, but I never heard from her again. Guess what that is.....That's right FAB! Never tie your fun to another person, if you do you'll almost certainly be dissapointed. Be your own dawg

When people change their minds, you can only hope that the new one works better. As for the "I'm leaving" set.....frustration is normal, it's a big bad world kitties, like it or lump it. It is of course, entirely possible that it's not them that you see posting but one of their other personalities.

Whats your worst rejection case ever?

I had a real winner this last weekend. I had been talking to this girl on here for a couple of weeks. Going great, talking on messenger, chatting on the phone, very compatible, some similar experiences, yadda, yadda. So we decide it's date time and red flag #1 flies. She says "I know my profile says that I live about an hour away from you but I'm actually staying at my mom's house about 3 hours away." OK no biggie, so off I go. I call her when I get to her town and she says "I'll be right over" and she is, her and her 2 kids, red flag #2 sails high.
So, we head out to the lake for a little picnic, nice conversation, kids playing in the lake giving us plenty of space. Not so bad.
About an hour goes by and she says "ok, I'm going to go drop the kids off at the babysitters and I'll be right back, then we can go somewhere." Great. Half an hour goes by, an hour goes by, I have a nice swim in the lake and call her. Her mom answers and says "she's in the bathtub" Now, I'm 31 and I know a blowoff when I see one so I go back into town, grab a sixer and go looking for a party at the lake (I'm not going to waste a day off and a 3 hour drive to a lake for anybody), find a fun group, have a great time, drive home VERY late, drop her an E-mail telling her what a great time I had in her town and how sorry I was that she missed it, and haven't heard from her since.

I think your right on the mark citing fear as the bane of action. The two driving forces of the human psyche are lust and fear. Interaction with the opposite sex is the place these emotions juxtopose most violently.
