Hey this sounds so cool. I hope theres still some rooms left. I'm hearing that the numbers for the hotels are not correct. Can someone hook me up? Thanks to those of you who are organizing this. I sooo need a weekend out. I am also challenging every man there to a dance with at least 5 women. Fill up the dance cards now or fill em up later......just fill em up. Go get em ladies!

I would still love to help plan the activities for an event. I've been to a few and have seen what works and what doesn't. What doesn't' work is just asking who is interested without actually saying where. You just have to pick a place, plan it and then post the event. People will sign up and it will be a success. I don't know the area and I live in the middle of nowhere, so I can't be of much help as to where, but I can help with the planning.

Heres a big hint for all of you to make this thing successful. This is intended for everyone to have a good time and meet lots of new friends. Remember the old saying, "no expectations, no disappointments" That definately applies here. Go with the goal of meeting new friends, not to meet "the one". This way there'll be no disappointments, only success. If you happen to meet "the one", its a great bonus. Just hang loose and have fun. I'm new to the area, but went to a few of these in Ohio and had a blast at every one. Heres the cool thing: Everyone danced with everyone....regardless of race, religion, body type, etc AND noone got jealous and there was never an arguement or a fight (heaven forbid). There was even a competition once where the person who danced with the most people won a prize. Everyone had stickers and when you danced with someone, they gave you one of their stickers. I think it was at Halloween time and the prize was a goodie bag of candy

Anyone interested in a POF get-together in Eastern North Carolina? Posted: 8/27/2008 7:28:00 PM
I'm new in the NC area, but not to POF or the great parties/get-togethers. Heres some ideas: I am willing to be a co-planner. We would need a restaurant or bar with a BIG private room. It would be great if we had our own private DJ that would be willing to play for a few hours and willing to work for donations only as no charges are allowed at these events. I think ice breakers are critical, otherwise in my experience you get guys on one side of the room and girls on the other like high school. I've attended a few of these events and seen them be extremely successful and others be pretty boring. Its sad when they're not so successful as there is so much time and energy put into the planning. Organized events during the evening, whether it be games/competitions or something like speed dating. Pick a central location and just plan it and then start a sign up. If you just ask who is interested, my experience has been that it just gets talked about and never executed. I don't know the area yet, so someone will have to help me with that......put your suggestions here and anyone interested in helping/planning let us know and we can get our heads together. Hmmmm....well, as most of you already know, I am a Steelers fan also. Unfortunately all of my Steeler's attire is for cold weather, so therefore, I have nothing to wear. I'll have to think of something if I'm still here on Sat. I do have to return to NC sometime in the near future I missed the get leied party.... , but I'm sure a sports theme could be just as fun. How about jello wrestling? Is that a sport?
