Younger men..
Posted: 9/4/2006 9:24:15 PM
I say enjoy it while you can. If a younger guy hits on you, it's a compliment regardless of what he's after. Trust me, they aren't going to go for ugly older women! Enjoy it for what it is. There's something to be learned from everybody and one should never rule out a possible great friendship. My last date was 23. Sure it'll never go anywhere as we have different goals in life but we had a great time and he's a great guy and I don't regret a minute of it!!

We'll definitely have to do it again! I was actually thinking along the lines of the end of September. It's usually still warm enough at that time. Otherwise we can do a BBQ in a park or something.

Don't feel bad, I didn't play seashell either! lol

SoCal Beach Party - Aug 19th
Posted: 8/21/2006 2:08:56 PM
Thanks to all of you who came out! We had a great time!!

Sorry to those of you who couldn't find it, we were definitely there! Signs and balloons marked on the highway, balloons on the benches and tables and signs pointing the way inside the beach as well as on an awning. Name tags was a thought, but a slippery one at that with all the sunscreen going on. Not a day to be shy, had to just walk up and ask, same as with meeting anyone in a public place!

We had a great time, met a lot of awesome people and I swam with the dolphins. All in all, an awesome day with a lot of awesome fish!!

I'll be posting pics shortly.

Looking to do another get-together sometime mid to late September.

Thanks again, it was great to meet you all!!

Long Term vs. Dating?
Posted: 8/16/2006 11:57:21 PM
Not necessarily! I'm not looking to get married and so I don't put "Long Term", I put "Dating" but I want more to a relationship than just a roll in the hay. One can find that anywhere. I want friendship, companionship, honesty and fun and I know from experience that you can have that with more than one person at a time. That doesn't mean I'm sleeping with all of them or with any of them. It is what it is, "Dating". If I happen to date one person that it goes into long term with then that's great but at least I'm not misleading someone who's looking to settle down.

SoCal Beach Party RECAP - Read Carefully
Posted: 8/16/2006 11:27:34 PM
WoooHooo, this weekend is THE beach party!!! As of now we're up to 399 people!

Here's a recap on info. If you have more questions that I haven't answered, drop me a line and let me know.

Time and Date: Saturday, August 19, 2006 from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. Come earlier if you like as parking will be a challenge the later you arrive.

Directions: The easiest way that I know of, regardless of where you're coming from is to get yourself to the 5 Freeway. Exit on Crown Valley Parkway (CVP). If going South on the 5, make a right on CVP and if going North, make a left on CVP. Take CVP all the way to Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and go right on PCH. Follow PCH through the residential area and as you start to go down the hill, you'll see the ocean on the left. That's us. Make a left on Aliso and if you come to Wesley, you've gone too far. I'll have signs and balloons posted.

Parking: There are 4 parking options. 1 - beach parking lot 2 - the park across the street. There's a pedestrian underpass walkway to cross in. 3 - Ruby's parking lot which is further North up PCH on the right. Pass our beach and keep going till you see Ruby's. Take the free shuttle which runs every 30 minutes back to where we are. 4 - on the street. Be prepared to feed the Parking Meter Goddess! If you park in the parking lot at the beach or the park across the street, the parking is $1 per hour. They do ticket!!! Bring dollar bills as there isn't a change machine. The machines will take coins but at $1 per hour, that's a lot of coinage! If you park on the street or in the Ruby's lot, the parking is metered and also $1 per hour. I don't think these meters take dollar bills, so bring your roll of quarters.

On the beach: POF will be to the far left the parking lot next to the bathrooms. Look for the signs and balloons.

Tidbits of this n that:
No camping, sorry!
Bring firewood, we will have pits
No torches - trust me, I sweet talked my way out of a citation last weekend!
Bring whatever food and drink you would like to consume and if you feel so inclined, enough to share with a few fish.
Watch the alcohol; citations for drinking on the beach and public intoxication are issued with glee!
Bring your own towels, chairs, umbrellas, frisbees, Volleyball nets/balls, music and SUNSCREEN

LADIES: Bring your friends, the men are a grumbl'n about the ratio. Personally I rather like it but hey, I'm not a guy!

Carpool: I have several fish needing rides. If you're coming from Ventura, Long Beach, Buena Park, Escondido or San Bernadino and wouldn't mind taking someone, drop me a line and I'll hook you up. I know some fish who'd be mighty greatful!

DangImHot is my co-hosting partner in crime. A huge "Thank You" to her for being willing to get up at the crack of dawn and head down to the beach to reserve the rings! If she introduces me as the "Wild Child", I really have no clue what she's talking about!!

Lastly: Have fun!!!

Again, if you have questions that I haven't answered, let me know.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!!

Is it realistic to expect to another person not to have any baggage
Posted: 8/16/2006 6:50:46 PM
I think if one says they have no baggage, they're still at the emotional/mental stage of 13 and in denial. We start our baggage when raised by the parents we have, going through life's experiences, which we all know isn't a bed of roses and in dealing with other people's emotions. Baggage isn't always a bad thing if you come out on the other side as a stronger, better person. If a person has baggage they're still carrying around, they haven't dealt maturely with what life has dealt them. Children are NEVER baggage and anyone who considers them to be has their own "baggage"! LOL

Why so hostile in SoCal
Posted: 8/9/2006 10:48:31 PM
I think rudeness is a petty and immature character trait but I think Hittman said it best. We get so used to sleeze balls hitting us up that our defenses are automatically up. This is a direct quote from my Yahoo profile.

"If the only thing you can come up with to ask me is, "What sized tits do you have?", I'm sure there are plenty of women out there who would be willing to explore your blatent idiocy. Carry on!!!"

I'm sorry you've come across some rude women! I think ego plays into it as well. Some women get so used to being hit on that they think they're God's gift to everyone. Don't give up, there's still some kind women out there.

Is a secret rendezvous needed in relationship once in a while?
Posted: 8/9/2006 10:32:04 PM
Why bother staying married? A person who cheats is a waste of time!!! Why would anyone do that to the person they took a vow to love and cherish? Cut them loose first! At least give them a chance to get on with their life rather than finding out that the life they were leading was a lie and their husband/wife a sham! Anyone who cheats doesn't have the cojones to get out of an unhappy marriage or the gumption to work on it!

Hey all!

I've just been given the heads up by a very kind gentleman who lives in Aliso, that we need to keep the alcohol on the down low, that the cops do patrol and will give tickets for drinking on the beach.

Before the party, I'll give another run down on the parking, location and all the details.

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

As to the questions about camping, unfortunately no, not on this beach. The beach closes at 10 pm and they're pretty strict about clearing it out. You might be able to make reservations at Crystal Cove which is a bit North if you're interested in moving your party that direction after this beach closes.

Carpool for the Beach Party
Posted: 7/27/2006 9:43:03 AM
WOW, this is fantastic! We have a great turn out so far for the Beach Party on August 19th!!!

If you need a ride or are interested in carpooling, drop me a line at Lass325@yahoo.com and let me know. Please indicate in the subject line:

Need a ride - Your City

Driver - Your City (please indicate how many people you can take)

Please plan to throw in at least $5 in gas to your driver regardless of how close to your home. Remember this person is doing a favor and they'll need to pay for parking.
Please be ready on time. Nothing is worse than having to sit in a car and wait for someone who's running late.

When I receive the emails, I'll coordinate with those willing to drive.

Can't wait to see you all there!!!

So Cal - Laguna Beach, August 19th
Posted: 7/23/2006 7:19:07 PM
As for San Diego, another good night to do a get-together would be on Saturday, August 12th for Ray at Night. Don't know if that's anyone's "thing" but I had a great time last month. Ray Street is blocked off and the entire block, though short, is primarily art galeries and fun shops. The galleries can't serve wine as they have no liquor license but they offer wine for a "donation." People cruise the block looking at art, meeting new people, there's a live band, and some have their Tarot cards read, it's just a fun evening. It's what you make of it. If anyone's interested, we could do that as well. I'm up for both. I want to keep the one in Laguna local because it's close to me and I was tired of all the indecisive back and forth, but we can certainly do other things as well. I was also thinking of those of us with kids. Do we want to do a casual, kid-friendly day in the park as an activity so that those of us with kids aren't in a quandry to find a sitter?

Why do women think we only want sex?
Posted: 7/23/2006 5:24:54 PM
Wow, is this a loaded thread!! I'm gunna throw in my .02 cents and get out!

"Why do women think we only want sex?" Hmmmmmm, because that's the way 95% of men treat us. "Hey Babe, you're gorgeous, do ya like lingerie? Wanna do it? Here's my digits, call me."

This was a conversation I had not too long ago.......
"Hey there, I see that you're just looking to date. So why, if you're just looking to date, are you looking for intelligence and honesty and all that other stuff?"

My reply, "Yes, I'm just looking to date, I have no interest in marriage at this point. Let me put it this way. I know I have what you want, but do you have what I want? You obviously have the right parts, but is there anything else that works above your shoulders? I could settle for just any guy that has the correct anatomical parts, but I find it degrading to sleep with a stupid man. Trust me, when I'm ready to be a Bimbo Slut, you'll be the first to know."

Needless to say, he wandered off to find a woman with as few brain cells as he had.

If a man wants to sleep with me, I already know he's got the right parts, but is he intelligent enough to know how to use them? Will he remember my name the next time we talk? Can he hold an interesting conversation over dinner? If he can't he's probably just as boring in bed!

Ok, I'm outta here!!! LOL

But before I burn rubber, thank you to all the men out there who DO care enough about women as people to respect us and get to know us!

Has anyone been brave enough to meet someone with no pic at all?
Posted: 7/23/2006 4:59:49 PM
Pictures mean absolutely nothing. A person can just as easily take pictures from another person's website, save them to their own computer and upload them onto this site. It's happened to me before. Go with your instincts. If you've got red flags waving, don't do it. If you feel safe, go for it!

having children at 38.......
Posted: 6/11/2006 10:23:20 PM
Hey, if you want to have a child, do it. Age shouldnt' stop you! Your only considerations should be whether you have health issues now that would stop you from being there for your child later on. If that was the case, it would be a very selfish idea to have children. If not, go for it!! Lots of single parents out there these days as well. Thought about doing foster care or adopting?

older women younger men
Posted: 6/5/2006 10:28:54 PM
I'm always amazed when a younger guy comes onto me. I've had guys younger than my son ask me to sleep with them. I've always HATED the term MILF but now that I am one, hey, who's complaining. Looking back as an older woman, we spent all that time as a younger woman worrying about our bodies and whether a guy would be attracted to us. I don't have a perfect body by any means and I have more offers than I ever thought I would. I think it's fine as long as it stays sexual, but I know that I couldn't give the guy marriage and children because I'm done with that. As long as it's understood that it won't go anywhere, I say, "Enjoy it!"

I'd do it regardless. I'm not to judge whether people deserve the homes they get or can't afford their own or whatever. That's not what it's all about. It's about throwing down our differences and helping out those in need. I applaud you for doing it!!

Outside circumstances change all the time. Change the scenario to where you wake up one morning and everyone is purple with green polka-dots or all the 2nd born children in the family now have 6 arms. I'm still the same on the inside. My beliefs are still the same in my heart and in my head. I haven't changed. Circumstances have. If I was the only one left, it would mean that it wasn't my time to go and it was for the rest of the world. Everything happens for a reason.
