To simplify; if you know the difference between "man" and "men", you can tell the difference between wo-MAN and wo-MEN.
I wish more people knew this. It's not rocket science.
I'm tired of seeing "Looking for a good women".

And on women's' clothing, these things called "sleeves".

Yes, Michigan, There's No Place Like Home!!!!
Posted:
7/21/2006 1:33:27 AM
I love and adore Michigan. It is my home. My ancestors, possibly the first settlers in Inkster, chose Michigan over the entire rest of the country. It is rich in fascinating history, resources, terrain, and cultures of all types. It is like a beautiful tapestry full of many different colors.
There is something here for everyone. We have all four seasons, ever-changing . People travel to see our fall colors. There is the spectacular spring and summer foliage which changes according to region.
There is coastal land, flat-as -a-board- land, farmland, swampland. There is rich soil, and there is sand, and there are rocks and clay. There are valleys, hills and "mountains". There are huge, bustling urban settings, budding metropolis's, and towns so small, they have one stop light, or even no stop lights.
There are places where you can have every shopping fantasy come true, and find anything you need, and there are places where all you will find is nature and complete solitude.
Here, you can find everything from urban city lofts to wildlife preserves.
There is almost everything to do. Stadiums, bars, restaurants, clubs, antique stores, rinks, ad infinitum.
Then there are the waterways. Lakes, streams, rivers, ponds.
And there is so much that Michigan DOESN'T have by comparison to other states. We don't have many giant brush and forest fires, major earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, major floods, major draughts, etc.
We have every economy in Michigan, simultaneously, different types of neighborhoods. We are also right next to a foreign country!
Our politics aren't perfect, but what state in the union has perfect politics? And our country doesn't have perfect politics, but it is certainly the best country on the planet, and you and I have the opportunity to make it better and better! Consider what is going on in other parts of the world, right now!
Maybe it's because we have so much that some people choose to be cranky. With some people, it doesn't matter what we have, we want more, more, MORE!!! But then again, there is always room for growth and improvement.
We, as the human race just need to become more grateful and thankful for what we do have, instead of constantly whining about what we think we lack.
I submit that if you are not happy with Michigan, and you move elsewhere, you will, given enough time, find flaws with that other state or country as well.
As Wayne Dyer so succinctly put it; "Wherever you go, there YOU are".

Michigan, A very FRIENDLY place
Posted:
7/21/2006 12:07:09 AM
There was nothing constructive, Just criticism. This is a public forum, so why would you think the original poster would be the only person to see it? Everyone DOES have a right to their opinion. I was simply pointing out that your post was negative on a thread where the original post was intended to be positive. Obviously, YOU are the one that has the major attitude.
Maybe you could go into politics and tell us all how it should be?
The original post was constructive. Yours was not.
I work in a hospital. There are un-friendly AND friendly people everywhere. Life is what you make it.
And, back to context; this is STILL NOT the Michigan-bashing thread.

Michigan, A very FRIENDLY place
Posted:

Apparently you misread the title of this thread. It's called "Michigan; A Very Friendly Place". The very first line of the post reads "There are too many negative posts around here..." There are plenty of OTHER threads used for b!tch!ng about Michigan. Find them. This is the ONE thread that has attempted to say positive things about our state, and you naysayers STILL feel the need to crash the party, just so you can get off on saying something negative as your personal form of mental masturbation. You just can't resist, can you? Go away and hate somewhere else. Waa-waa-waah!

Well, if ya wanna go and bring MATH into it; women still outlive men by an average of about 7 years. So, with that logic, we women should all be with YOUNGER men instead of our daddies.
Personally, I'm not gonna have alot in common with a guy that's 20 years older than me. Dating is already hard enough as it is!
If a man is a MILLIONNAIRE in Hollywood, he can get the best TROPHY wife money can BUY.
And he'll also end up getting EXACTTLY what he deserves.
Stick to women who are around your own age!

God's Gift to Women ?
Posted:
7/15/2006 11:09:58 PM
No. What you are talking about is all hype designed to sell magazines and soap. Sex sells.
On "The bachelor", money and exposure are always up for grabs. The shallow men AND women deserve each other, but somehow , the fairytale relationship never really materializes.
BULLETIN: THIS IS NOT TV!!! For all practical intents and purposes,Brad Pitt is not real. By far and wide, the vast majority of us will NEVER meet Brad Pitt. And if we did, he would have no interest in us. He is busy doing HIS life.
I will never meet Russell Crowe, nor would he be interested in me, and BTW, HE IS MARRIED.
Besides, just because someone is beautiful doesn't mean they're not a type A phone-throwing ear-hole with a drinking problem!
People like to delude themselves into thinking some famous singer will marry them. These people are called STALKERS.
An image people THINK is God's Gift is merely a delusion built up in one's own mind.
There is a BIG difference between reality and fantasy. Life is about, among other things, learning that difference.
PS: I'm kinda thinkin' that Jude Law would NOT be willing to relocate to Michigan, if ya know what I mean.

Confident But Ugly Men
Posted:
7/15/2006 9:42:16 PM
It's not a question of either/or. It's a specialized combination of various ingredients that make up an individual thing called "chemistry".
A man could be absolutely photographically beautiful, but if he's an arrogant, pompous a$$, I'll find him to be very UN-appetizing.
By the same token, a man could have ordinary looks and exude an artful combination of confidence with humility, and be verrrry appealing.
But if you mean BUTT- UGLY,forget it! LOL!!

I would love, love LOVE to live in my own New York City style LOFT!!! One of those converted warehouses, or really old factories! Super high ceilings, exposed beams, exposed brick, hard wood flooring! One big giant room that is big enough to ride your bike in. I'd love to have it furnished with a combination of mid-century modern, Danish, and ultra-modern furnishings and art, with lots of storage so there'd be no clutter.
I'd love to live in an artsy museum district. A cultural area.
Any donors????
