I'm amazed how we all survived our childhood. Thank goodness we have big brother telling us what they think is best.

Who in the world designed them helmets anyway? They would have to come up with a heck of a lot better design then that before I would even consider wearing one. Even then I most likely wouldn't wear one.

Funny how the government ignores studies on 2nd hand smoke. W.H.O. after a intense 7ry study found no link with 2nd hand smoke and cancer. You would think smokers would be dropping like flies if this were true. They smoke AND breathe in their 2nd hand smoke. Why am I still alive after growing up around smokers? Where I work is probably 10 times worse then cig. smoke. There a lot more dangerous contaminates in the air then cig smoke.

I think because of the government sticking their noses where it shouldn't be is one of the reasons kids are the way they are. They have no respect. Going around killing or beating up people. My son threaten to call child protective services once because I told him I should spank him for what he did. I just told him to go ahead and call. You wont like where they put you.

I'm embarrassed of my car. long story how I ended up with it but I have had it for a couple yrs. and stuck with it for awhile. Its a girly looking thing. It doesn't impress me so I know it wouldn't impress anyone else.

Learning How To Be Single ...

I been alone now for almost 14yrs. A date here and there is all. It was hard at first but you kinda get used to it. The holidays were the roughest. I wont decorate for Christmas.

There are times I get a sinking feeling (thats the best way I can describe it) wondering if this is it. This is my destiny. I sometimes get a envy feeling when seeing couples together or some guy is talking about his wife.

Then there are other times I'm content and it doesn't bother me I'm single. I can do what I want when I want.

Its a up and down cycle.

Nice to see a thread that doesn't bash the US. When a country is in trouble, we help even when not asked and when we do help, its more then any other country.

Our people have shed a lot of blood to save other countries from tyranny. Not many back us up when we need help but if they are the ones in trouble, who do you think they come running to even as they bash us?

Gas, Food -- Cutting Expenses

I bought a scooter and use that for errands and getting to work. I haven't left town in a long time but plan on it this weekend to see my kids. Besides, its not good having my car just sit there and when I do use it, its only for short trips.

Other then driving my car less, I haven't cut back anywhere else.

And theses companies wonder why they cant make any money. Their pay is a slap in the face for the workers. We didn't get a pay raise this year and instead of laying off they decided to share the pain and cut hrs when needed. We sacrifice and the big shots don't. (I don't work for a auto manufacturer)

These car manufacturers have no one to blame but themselves. They were in it for the fast profit instead of looking at the future.

They close plants and lay off because they are losing money. OK, now they just got rid of thousands of workers who could buy cars but now cant because they are out of a job. So, they lose even more money. The solution? Close more plants, lay off more workers knocking even more people out of the car buying market.

Greed is doing us in.

I know most of POF is liberal but I'm going to say it anyway. Contrary to what a lot of people think, Bush will go down as one of the GREATEST Presidents. May be 50yrs from now but it but will happen.

Obama will only make things worse financially if he does the things he says he will do. He has done nothing for my state besides refusing to vote most of the time.

I would go visit my Grandmother and saw her once forced to wear a party hat because it was someones birthday. She looked silly. One woman said she just wanted to go to her room but they wouldnt let her. They are treated like little kids. I feel for them and hope I never end up in one.

My mom has died but if she was alive and unable to live alone, either I or my sister would have taken her.

Wonder why it is oil that is drilled, refined, and delivered right here in the US cost the same as the oil from overseas?? I would think domestic gas would be cheaper. As of today here in IL we are at $3.95.

As for getting more miles per gallon, I bought a scooter. 60+mpg

I was the executor of my mothers 'estate'. I may have been the big cheese but we talked about everything and wouldn't do anything until we both agreed.

I seen other families get torn apart. The loved one was tossed aside and forgotten while the family bickered. We were bound and determined that it wasnt going to be like that with us and it wasnt.
