Posted: 7/1/2006 1:32:33 PM Hi Rebecca, I went through a similar situation at 14 same story, "mr. popular" and every thing he also lied to me that he wasn't with anyone and to be doulble blindesided I was beaten up by his girl friend. I got over this or so I thought. but even though everything was okay on the outside it ( in fact I became one of the "popular kids" through talent ,sense of humor or what ever) then I moved away at 18 and let the same thing happen again, this time it was a gang rape. I had let insecurity overtake me again. following several bad realationships I sought counseling. I worked things out with a therapist. I learned to become self sufficent and assertive. this has led to were I will allow no abuse of any kind. Please, seek counseling so that you don't let this become a mindset. and a way of life. You are a WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL young woman do not EVER allow anyone anywhere to treat as any thing else. look into your heart and your soul and fall in love withyourself, if you do that others will see that light within and treat you as you are to be treated. best of luck. Posted: 6/28/2006 6:31:34 PM I don't mind so much about some not having a photo, if fact I have met men with no posted picture and things were fine (I am not that shallow) what does bother me is illiteracy. thats what absoultley turns me off!!! for christ's sake , dosn't anyone own a dictionary anymore, for that matter there is spell check. unfortunately a lot of people have no respect for the written word aymore. We are the species with the most complex form of communication. I feel that it disrespectful to someone by not communicating with your full brain and attention.   Show ALL Forums
