New ID voter law?
Posted: 10/4/2012 2:09:27 AM

The Voter ID law is designed, as the judge in Pennsylvannia has pointed out, to take Democrat voters out of the voting pool and rig the election in favor of the Republican candidate

Oh please. I bet that judge is a Democrat. Using the judge's logic we should do away with all photo ids since the poor might not be able to afford a photo ID to buy their 40.

The Democrats don't want photo id as that would prevent all the dead people from voting for Democrat candidates. That's why they fight voter id laws so hard.

What is wrong with proving who you are? A person has to show an ID to buy alcohol or to write a check. Shouldn't the same be true for something as important as voting?

I have heard that 90% of the population in the United States would die off within one year of an EMP attack. Who knows how long it would take to start recovering from that? I live in the country but depend on modern tech. My water comes out of a pipe and my food from a store. Most of my tools run off of batteries or gasoline. If civilization ended tomorrow I could survive on chicken eggs, fish from the stock tank and filtered water from that tank. Forget long term since I don't have a garden and my water filters won't last forever.

You could start with electing a guy that wants to cut taxes even more for the rich, or you could educate yourself with regards to how social programs work to save the economy money.

So let me get this straight. The government has to spend money so it can save money. I think you got that half right! Unfortunately it is the spending part....

We are 16 trillion in debt. How do we continue giving money away? I know! Just print more or just add another zero to the balance! It's only paper, right? It's not backed by anything of value like gold.

Which would be people: Who pretend to make a moral judgement without thinking their argument all the way though, because if they did they would know paying for such medication would save them money in the long run.

Cost more? How? I believe it is not the federal government's place to pay for birth control or welfare to baby making machines.

A republican majority house will not outlaw free speech

Tell that to Sandra Fluke.

What does a loose socialist woman that wants me (a taxpayer) to pay for her birth control have to do with anything? Is that why the socialists are upset with Rush? They can't handle the truth?

A dozen EO's could be signed today by President Obama and not a peep will be heard from the majority of the population, because now a majority of the population is in sync with the government, which Obama leads. Nobody will threaten their incomes or benefits. Bet on it.

I'm not going to bet on anything like that. Only 3% of the people fought against the British during the Revolutionary War while the majority stood on the sidelines. So if Obama goes crazy signing EOs there will be at least 9 million Patriots ready to take the illegal government out. The vast majority of Obama supporters will be shaking in their shoes when the shooting starts.

My problem is I have one average sized city within 25 miles and there aren't that many women on POF listed from there. The big city which is 90 miles away has lots of women listed but they want someone closer. My job is in that average size city plus I'm not going to give up my country living to move to the big city. Maybe I need to try that dating site for farmers....

Rush Limbaugh will simply be against the law. This is like what FDR did to Fr. Coughlin, the Detroit radio priest. He effectively shut him down. Obama is tougher than FDR, but he just needs that second term to make sure only TRUTH is told.

What world do you live in? A republican majority house will not outlaw free speech. If Obama signs an EO banning free speech, well that would be the start of civil war 2 assuming Obama wouldn't be impeached for trying something that insane.

This sums up your entire attitude.Complete negativity. You would rather see America burn than do well under Obama wouldn't you?

America can't do well under Obama. After 3.5 years of Obama's failed policies and 8+% unempolyment you can't blame Bush anymore. Why should the rich risk their money when Obama wants to take it when they are successful? It is wiser just to sit on the money until Obama is gone.

Sooooo, now you're a communist when you ask the wealthy to pay a fair share of taxes? It's no wonder people with college degrees lean toward democrats. Republicans will believe whatever bs the wealthy throw to them. I see trickle-down ignorance is working a lot better than trickle-down economics.

Investment income is taxed at a lower rate since you are risking that money and could lose it all. If investment income is taxed at the same rate as earned income the businesses would just raise prices so the middle and low income people would pay the taxes anyway.

Really? Take the wealth from the top 1% and who will create jobs? The government? That was tried in the Soviet Union and look how it turned out for them....

Most jobs are CREATED by SMALL BUSINESS...

Small Business owner are NOT part of the 1% ....

You failed BASIC Economics

And what incentive would anyone have to start a small business knowing it might become a large business that the government wants to punish for being to successful? You failed common sense.

I just don't get the complaining. If this were true, most of us would be on the gaining end seeing that virtually 92% are in the the poorer end of the spectrum.

saw this article the other day. it also has Russian academic Igor Panarin talking back in 2009 about another theory of the States breaking up. Canada would take central north region, Japan/China - Hawaii, China the West, Russia - Alaska (maybe why they're getting the Aleutian Islands), Mexico the south they used to own & the EU would assume control of the east.

That silly Russian. With all the well armed rednecks here, Texas will never go back to Mexican control. Heck, even the Mexicans that have lived here for some time don't want to live under Mexican control!

Where have the older men gone?
Posted: 8/12/2012 2:20:01 AM

Men want women who are 10 years younger than themselves. And, women wan men who are 10 years younger than themselves.

That's now true so the women can't blame the guys anymore. When the advanced search functions aren't working correctly I often find women that want a younger man or no more than a couple of years older. For example, I'm 47 and I find a profile of a 40 year old woman. That should be in my age range. Nope! Her email settings only allow men between 25 and 42 to contact her. There are a lot of women out there like that.

Rap Music and White Men
Posted: 8/10/2012 2:30:10 AM

In the male profiles on a lot of dating sites they express their music likes and then always end the sentence with: "Except Rap". Why is this necessary? I don't see them expressing their dislike of Country, bagpipe, accordian, grunge, techno, emo or opera music. I'm sure there are a TON of men who dislike these genre's yet they choose to single out "Rap" music. Why is that? I'm truly curious because it "feels" racist to me.

Because it is so popular right now I want to make sure to any woman reading my profile that I will not listen to rap or hip hop. It's nothing to do with race for me. I just hate the sound. If opera becomes as big as hip hop I will mention my hate for it also!

mail settings
Posted: 8/4/2012 1:46:04 AM

When you are signed in, if you are not within another member's age restrictions, you will never see them. They will not show up in a basic/advanced search, nor will they be displayed on your matches or any page banner.
In other words, since there is no way that will come across them, the site unwittingly takes care of this issue for you.

So there must be the problem. I find that I have to keep logging into this site. Could it be possible I'm no longer logged in after viewing a page of profiles and going to the next page of my search? I'm using Google Chrome as my browser. Could the browser be the issue?

mail settings
Posted: 8/3/2012 11:26:22 PM
How about moving the mail settings to near the top of the profiles? I suggest that because I have found some interesting women that turned out to be looking for younger men. They didn't state that in their profile but in the mail settings which is at the bottom of their profile. Nothing more frustrating then finding someone I want to contact to find out I'm a year or three older than what can contact her. Until that is changed I will just have to scroll down to the bottom of each profile and check the mail settings before wasting time reading the actual profile.

Ann Romney's Remarks
Posted: 7/29/2012 7:23:43 AM

Watching Fox New is bad for the brain. It makes you stupid. In fact, studies have shown that people who watch Fox News are more uninformed than people who watch no news at all.

Why all the hate for FOX News? Did the liberal mainstream media tell you that? I have no use for the liberals on NBC, ABC, CBS or CNN. I think your sources are wrong and you hate my source. So we will just have to agree to disagree.

am not really into this romney, guy, or the political scean in the states, but can anyone please explain, why anyone is taking this man seriously

Well there are a number of us that didn't select Romney during the primary process but at least he ain't Obama. Obama had his school records sealed. What is Obama hiding? Obama has never ran a business and after 3.5 years we see the results of that...

I was just reading some remarks Ann Romney made regarding her husband's taxes...She said "We've given all you people need to know"..from the Today Show...http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/19/ann-romney_n_1685735.html It remindsme of what Marie Antoinette said "let them eat cake"....just as flippant...Is that who we are the 99%.."You People?

Romney shouldn't release any more tax records until Obama has his college records unsealed.

community dollars
Posted: 7/28/2012 10:17:35 PM
THAT is why the phrase "Full Faith and Credit" came into being. The value of the US dollar is based the the total economy of the USA. Go ahead and make fun of it, but the only thing that is laughable are those that still believe as you do.

Which is worth more today, 4 circulated silver quarters from 1913 or a circulated paper dollar from 1913? I pick 1913 as that is when the Federal Reserve came into existence. If you sell the coins for the silver content they would buy roughly the same amount of merchandise where the paper dollar has lost 97% of its value.

I should had used a dollar gold coin in my example. That would really show how much the dollar has collapsed since 1913.

I think you need better pictures and more of them. I admire you for putting your political beliefs out there, but I personally wouldn't negate about 55 percent of the women in this country.

I understand your point but there would be problems with those 55 percent sooner or later. They might not like the fact that I own guns, watch FOX news, place anti-Obama bumper stickers on the truck and that I would be very upset if they donate money to a liberal politician. No, I believe it is better to be alone then get into a relationship with someone with different core values.

Really? Basically I have said liberals and progressives are wrong since they are anti gun and pro taxes. I don't want to have a personal relationship with those people. That's hateful? If you have an iPhone don't ever download ShowOfHands. Things really get crazy there.

Do these sentences mean that liberal leaning women aren't 'quality' women?

That sure aren't. Anyone that is pro taxes and anti-guns is just wrong.

You do understand that your perspective on the world isn't the only correct perspective don't you? You do know that there are quite intelligent, responsible, law abiding, respectable and decent people who might happen to hold different opinions to you?

Not if their views are liberal or progressive. Only conservatives and libertarians have the correct opinions.

I really think you are going to find it very difficult to find a woman that matches you so long as you retain your current inflexible and judgemental attitudes. Not impossible, but be prepared to spend a long time looking.

I'm OK with that.

Favorite show on SyFy?
Posted: 7/27/2012 9:13:37 AM

Does anyone have a favorite show that they can watch over and over regardless even if they are repeats?.some of my favorites include School Spirits,Paranormal Witness,Ghosth Hunters, and one of favorites which is Fact or Faked:Paranormal Files

The sad thing is none of these shows are science fiction! I miss the days of old when that channel had shows like Lexx, Farscape, Stargate SG1 and Battlestar Galactica. I only watch Eureka and Warehouse 13 now and Eureka just ended. I now know why the name was changed to SyFy. They have dumped most of the real science fiction shows! I can find more sci-fi on TNT...

Why do some divorced women list themselves as single?

While it would be great to find someone compatible, single life isn't bad. I do what I want when I want. Are there any political sub-boards here? I see there are some liberals here that I need to set straight!

@ _Iconoclast_, for some reason I can't post a new message. Anyway, I bet you are one of those freedom hating liberals! I found the off topic section and will visit it after I get some outside work done.

@ _Iconoclast_, stupid? I have visited a lot of forums over the years and a 21 message limit is a new one to me! But I'm new to this forum and didn't know that rule. Saying that I have noticed the off topic forum has topics with over 21 messages. Ignore me if you want, I have no use for freedom hating liberals. Think I will go outside and do a little target practice.

As to never being in a serious relationship at 46. That question seems to reappear.... Lets see.... I work nights, live in a rural area and go to a small church. I'm not the type to ask a total stranger at the grocery store out on a date. At this point it seems like a job interview. You can't get a job unless you have experience but how do you get experience when no one will give you a job?

I was raised to believe marriage is for life so I'm looking for someone that has never married or is a widow. Of course I won't complain if I find a lady somewhat younger than myself. It worked great for my grandpa. Grandpa was 22 years older than grandma. First and only marriage for both. But I guess things were different back then....

I have never been married so I'm searching for the same in a woman. So when I do a search for single woman I expect to see profiles of never married women. For the most part this is true but I do find profiles that after you read them clearly show the woman is divorced. Others aren't so clear and I don't find out until I start chatting with the woman.

So why do some divorced women list themselves as single when divorced is an option listed for marital status? As I understand it, single is a never married person. Kind of like being a virgin, you can't be a virgin again! Am I misunderstanding what the status of single is?
