I'm not even going to say what I at first thought he was referring to. I was thinking "You gotta be kidding"! I was about to write him off as some kinda nut. Now I geuss I can write MYSELF off as a nut! Now this just struck me as sooo funny. Maybe because I was thinking the same thing.

So he says he doesn't have a phone yet, not until he actually moves in. I think he's staying with his mom, or a roommate, not 100% sure. This right here says it all. He is hiding something. Everybody has a phone, or at least private access to a phone. If he is staying with friends or his mother, why can't he use their phone? I'd move slowly here. jmo.

And I also still listen to the same rock music as it is now known as classic rock. Me too. No. I thought my marriage was forever and that I would be surrounded by kids and grandkids and doing the Sunday dinner thing. Man am I an idiot. LOL. So did I.

Wow this sure opened my eyes. I have been to several sites over the years. Stay a while, maybe get a date. Get bored with the whole thing after a while, stop visiting personal sites, and go on about my life. Then a few months later, or even years, I do a search on one the sites, and what do you know, the same people. It's discouraging to me because I think if they didn't find anybody, I guess I shouldn't bother trying again.

Yes, I agree. Don't work if you don't have to. I was just trying to say that you may some day need the equity for more urgent things that come up in your life. I would do my own research. Mortgage Brokers are not going to look out for your best interest. Not knowing your financial situation, its hard to say what might be best for your individual needs. Some financial advisers can help, you just may need to dig a little deeper to find a good one. Like someone else said be very careful with a reverse mortgage.

I don't have any personal experience, and this is just my opinion; however, I have some knowledge on the subject. The main reason people look at reverse mortgage options is to supplement their income when they can no longer work, and usually as a last resort (i.e. health, retirement reduction, spouse death, etc.) If you need extra income, and can still work, you should do this, even if it's part-time, or something from home. There may come a day when you can no longer work and you will need the equity in your home. With a reverse mortgage, your equity will be whittled away. Of course there is always the other side, when lucky, your home value could triple, then you may still be in good shape.
