I would say speak from the heart, and start from the beginning to the end. When my mom died, my mom's sister spoke of her as a sister, and then there was this lady who asked if she could speak, and we thought it was great, so she spoke of our mother when my mom worked for them, and I spoke of her as daughter. It was great because we heard of her life as a child, then when she left home, and her life as a mom. Of course this is most unusal to have 3 people speak. I have never been to a funeral where 3 people spoke. Whatever you do will be out of love and will be well done.

Is Winnipeg, Manitoba really that friendly? Posted: 11/9/2009 11:12:20 PM
When I go out and meet people not from Winnipeg, they have said that Winnipeg is not friendly. Anyone who was friendly to them were also not from Winnipeg. I am not originally from Winnipeg, but am from Manitoba. And I don't think the crime in this city is a measure of how friendly it is. Just because a place is friendly doesn't mean it doesn't have crime. My girlfriend from back home was visiting and we were downtown and she held the door open for the person behind her. It's what nice people do. Well! It just wasn't one person that walked through, but a number of people and not one of them said thank you. I finally told her to leave the door because she could be standing there all day. I would say the people from the country are more friendlier. But people coming to our city are expecting to meet friendly people because that is what is being advertised. Friendly Manitoba. How friendly are you?

Ooops! I didn't notice the date on there. I thought it was this weekend. But the wine festival is this weekend at the Convention Centre. I am going Saturday evening. You can buy tickets at your local LC. I hope I can put this on here. If you decide to come make sure you eat well before coming. Pasta is recommended. They also sell pasta meals there. At least they did last year.

Lol. I was looking at the pics and there is a pic of a friend, who is not part of POF. Go figure, I couldn't make it, and she is there. Well I am glad Enigma4u posted it. And then he couldn't make it either. Porch decoration posted it, but the powers that be deleted it. I guess because of there being a post in Sask. Then they couldn't make it. Did most of everyone that said they were going, show up? How much of the place did POF fill up? I really would have liked to have been there.

Hmm. I didn't see any beavertail, but then I wasn't looking for any. I went to the Park. There are about 3 different tents and each has entertainment, and food. One tent is geared to children. I enjoyed myself. The ice bar didn't have much to choose from.

Good for you porch. We must have missed each other. I was looking. Well this can't go into events unless someone from here takes on being the host. That is why it is here. I posted it here asking for someone to host it, so it can go into the events. As a host you should be there but I think Saskatchewan can pretty well take care of it. They just need someone from here to post it. So if you are willing to help that would be great then it can go into the events calendar. Can't go in there if no one will host it. I can't, I am busy the weekend.

I want to say thank you to all who came. I was there at shortly after seven, but when I arrived all the seats were basicly taken. I wanted the area in the back but they told me the tables back there were reserved. When I had called to see if I could reserve them, they said they didn't take reservations. So I had to take the tables behind the bar. I went walking around to see if I could see any fishies that I could recognize. I even approached people who looked like they were looking for someone. I did that till about 9:00 pm. So if I missed you I apologize. I know those who have not been there before said it was very big and hard to find the entrance for Jaguars.

Sweetness: There is no charge at Jaguars. But you have to get there early or it gets full. There really hasn't been anything happening too much, that is why I decided to do somehting for Valentines Day. I thought it would be for us singles to gather together on the one day where we feel left out. Then we won't feel so left out!

Oh no there is no booking a room. They are just meeting in Jaguars. I told them you couldn't reserve there. They just want to come and party and meet with Winnipeg fishies. So we should show them or friendly Manitoba hospitality that we are so famous for. I cannot be there.

Well I notice people are checking this out, but no one is stepping forward. All you have to do is post it, and be at the Casino for 7:00 pm. The rest will take care of itself. It is quite easy.

I recieved this in my mail today. A group of people are coming to Winnipeg to celebrate and honour the BIG FISH. They need someone to help host it from here. I cannot do it because I am at a conference that weekend. The URL is at the bottom of the page. If noone comes forward I can post it but I am unable to make. They just need someone to post here.: Hi there I am from Regina and we are coming to invade you all in Winnipeg on March 20th-22...I am one of the hosts for this and was wondering if there is any way you there could help us get this yearly thing on the go. I have talked to a few Ontario people and they are joining us as of next year's meet in Winnipeg so from your end this is what we are wondering if you could get the room in the casino for the 21st the Saturday and set up a meet I will send you this it is the url of our trip and what we plan to do. Hi! Who said Valentines is only for couples? Let's have a Valentines evening for singles. Where: Jaguars - downstairs at Club Regent, 1425 Regent Doors open at 7:00 pm and close at 1:00 am. No cover charge. Decent size dance floor, recommended to get there early, great DJ music, Good sound/light system, valet parking for $2.50 (with a free club card). "Almost Famous", billed as a "70's, 80's & 90's Pop, Rock & Dance" is on the card for 13/14th. Hope to see you there! Any suggestions, let me know. MsTree

Well the place I was counting on is not available. Sooooo, I guess the idea now it to pick a place where we can hang and have some fun. The Norwood is okay, but the dance floor small. Silverado has a cover charge that I don't want to pay. The Wood has it too but it is reasonable. There is the Palamino, but the dance floor is not that big either. I guess there is the Spike but it is in the boonies. Oh and there is the bar downstairs at Club Regent, and it is free, and has a fair size dance floor. I think that could be a place to gather and enjoy being single on Valetines Day. What do you think?

I want to thank all of you for coming and joining me at the Pancake House for brunch. Met some new people and got to touch base with people I have not seen in awhile. Hoping to plan another function in the near future.
