Why Do Guys Quit Dancing after 40?
Posted: 11/10/2009 12:36:35 AM
they quit dancing due to bad backs and knees ahhaha
maybe they never learnt how to dance,
maybe don't have enuf drinks for liquid courage and when they do they do a face plant?
maybe can't be bothered?
who knows..
think they like to stay home and whine... let life pass them by and wave goodbye

Gone to the Dogs
Posted: 11/10/2009 12:29:27 AM
we had a thread about this one something similar to it..
if u were to date a dog what kinds of dog would it be?
Mine is a black lab as I had 1 with my ex.. he has custody of the dog who probably has long forgetten me.
I love dogs and cats..
I want a dog preferably the black lab i have but i hate their dense hair everywhere.
I'd like to get a maltipoo or a mixed breed dog... my coworker's dog is a schnauzer, lasha apso,****rspaniel. I think i like this dog cuz of it's personality.
Dogs require a lot of work and commitment that's my problem, if I can't commit to a relationship to a person, how in the world can i commit to a relationship for a dog?
God, is there help for pple like me for those that have dog and relationship issues?

Why is it so hard to talk about Race? When Do we the people Of Canada talk about Race
Posted: 11/7/2009 2:09:20 PM
pple who make racist remarks r simply ignorant rednecks or attempting to be funny but lack respect and education.
Sure, I'm a visible minority but when u look around u there are visible minorities everywhere, even Caucasians r facing reverse discrimination.
There are many families in this day and age are a combination of 2 different races hence the political correct term of biracial.
I poke fun at my own ethnic background and do say yes some of the sterertypes pple remark about are true NOT ALL but some are.
Its how u say the racial remark that gets my goat.
i don't find it difiicult to take about the different races or mix with the other races as i'm pretty oblvious to what goes on.
I embrace my ethnice background but my dominant culture is Canadian to which I embrace 110%

Organ donation - Opt-in or Opt-out?
Posted: 11/3/2009 5:26:34 PM
think we should all be organ donors.. what r we going to do with them anyways after we r dead???
If u don't want ur organs to be donated then we should sign off on our licenses that we do not chose to have them donated.
AUTOMATIC donation I say. If u forget to sign then it's ur loss but really do u care if ur dead. Someone else can use ur organs to live a full productive life.
Hopefully, we don't pollute these vital organs away by being stupid with excess intake of toxins.

GLADIATOR !!
watched this movie just yesterday... and yup think i fit the bill as i'm a strong advocate for me clients in my professional life and can produce results very quickly may not be with the right sense of class of what others r used to.
Not my issue though and y is that those who create wave r not liked just cuz they believe in something , have passion in and won't relent due to the prinicipal of what they r standing up for?

Too selective about who we date?
Posted: 10/3/2009 9:22:06 AM
too selective ?? NOPE, in my old age the answer is no.
Looks r contrived for both parties. Women can get dolled up, make up, dye jobs and fake nails. BTW I am poking fun at my self if ur wondering.
I'm NOT looking for chemistry as there is no such thing as you have to CREATE it.
I'm NOT looking for the knight to sweep me off my feet as there is no such thing.
I go with the flow. If the person has a personality with a sense of humour, quick witted and can make me laugh then of course i would hang out with them. Intelligence is another 1 as I find mental bantering incredibly sexy!!
Men that I have gone out with, many have all those aspects and have become friends with them.
Still my answer is no about being selective.

MARCH HARE at THE BIG B MISSION SAT SEPT 19th at 8 PM
Posted: 9/15/2009 11:09:02 PM
haven't been there in a very long while and this is a great band to dance ur feet/ fins / gills off too. Food and service is exceptional. Big B has had a bad reputation from the local community pple but please don't let that deter u.
37 pple isn't bad and danceable crowd. It's only Wed. so the number haven't yet picked up. However, if the dance crowd gets too big then it's a different story and will be squished like sardines.
If i'm in town I will definently be there as my many friends will be there that I haven't cause mischief with in a very long while. I do love to dance and will be looking forward to this to dance and laugh my ass off!!

Friends with Benefits..good or bad
Posted: 9/14/2009 9:14:43 PM
tired to read the copious pages about this subject and had posted on this topic b4.
I liked having FWB and have had a few .. however was at a different head space at the time. They r great when u don`t want someone around all the time, not so great when u want a relationship with someone.
From personal experience... don`t have 1 when ur in a relationship NOT kosher!!
got found out and learnt my lesson well as the relationship i had went out the window. I won`t sacrifice another good relationship for the sake of maintaining a FWB. I couldn`t give up the friendship with the FWB and told the FWB forget this noise all or nothing. Was ready to walk away from the friendship and was told that i wasnt going anywhere. Forced FWB to become exclusive, so guess it`s all worked out in the wash in the end.
Morale of the story FWB R good only if ur ready to play with fire cuz ur going to get burnt in the end.

fitness
Posted: 8/25/2009 12:10:43 PM
fitness regime waxes and wanes at the best of times... however, i TRY to get there at least 2 times a week. Working out is the ONLY thing that purgues my brain and use it as a stress relief. I have alot of stuff in my I head that I hear throughout the the day and when I need to remember important stuff there simply is no room for it.
ok OT:
Fitness routine when @ the gym is threadmill walk/ run for 30 minutes, free weights 3 -4 reps of various arm exercises, then to the fitball for abdominals exercises and finally cooling down bike ride 5 minutes. In total I'm there for whole hour. If I feel like shaking it up a bit I will hit the elipitcal machine for 15 minutes as well. The gym where I have my membership currently I'm not found of their elipitial machines so I skip it.
I love my IPOD shuffle and have an ecletic mixture of music on there to make my workout routine go by so much faster.
I know when I've had a good workout is by how much I sweated and how sore I feel the next day.
I'd like to mix up the workout day with outside activities with either whacking some golf balls around , or a good long hike /walk in 1 of the neighbourhood parks.
Time to get off the couch and off my arss! Workout and then eat more cookies!!!

What is Your Order of Building Relationships?
Posted: 8/20/2009 12:50:16 PM
never gave this much thought b4 as i used to fly by the seat of my pants and wing it. Now, it's a different story and think I've somewhat matured.
First figure out what KIND of relationship do u want.
How many days a week u want to see this person.
How far ur willing to travel as my time is very valueable.
What you're willing to tolerate and not ...
Have clear conise set boundaries by putting urself first and foremost.
I may come across as a **** but somethings are simply a NON negotiable for me.

My previous relationship took a while to build and nuture. It worked out in the end but I was initially impatient cuz I thought there was something wrong with me but it wasn't.

Exotic Dance and Burlesque as seedy as it seems?
Posted: 8/18/2009 2:29:49 PM
my friends and i were talking about this very subject and glad that burlesque has made a resurgence IMHO!
NOTHING dirty or seedy about it. It's about being proud of who u r and using what u got in the best way possible to entice and attract.
BTW: corsets r also very good to keep ur posture inline as i have a tendency to slouch.

Spelling and Grammar, does it count?
Posted: 8/17/2009 9:03:31 PM
yes poor spelling drives me absolutely insane!! i fail to edit what i post that's for sure, however, it when it comes to atrocious spelling I want to head for the hills. What does it take to run to get a dictionary? not much but maybe they r simply plain lazy or don't even own 1.
I get lost in the translation if the word isn't spelled properly and get fixated on the mistake . I miss the whole context of what they are trying to write.
Sorry, we were forced to spell properly in elementary school and had numerous spelling bees.

Do we really know what we are asking for,,,when we ask?????
Posted: 8/11/2009 10:58:45 AM
first u must know the distinctions between wants and needs....
all i really want is someone who understands me as I am like NO other....
I need to come and go as I please.
What i want is someone who won't control me cuz good luck trying.
need to clean up my internal affairs first to know what I want.
I want an EQUAL relationship where I don't need to see u 24/7 as it's not my thing. I want someone who shares my interests and willing to learn new things.
It's all about give and take , trial and errors.

currently reading "In the Meantime" by Ivanlya Vanza (sorry spelt her name wrong)
excellent book and highly recommend it as it talks about all of this.

hey, Wpg is a GREAT place where great pple have come FROM!
Whalley world aka around Surrey place mall (135 A) is a bit dicey from time to time as long as ur not out and about late at night.
There are many ammenities close to where u r and ALL the outdoor pools r free for the summer months. Not sure if ur interested in that though.
There r many community events including the one just past a few weekends ago the Surrey Fusion Festival.
Always, check what the local community recreation centers have to offer as well. There r many great activities available in the surrounding areas as well.
There are many pple who have settled into the Surrey area from Wpg as well.
I miss my prairie home town and craving Jeanne cake, Wpg. Rye bread, and of course Alicia's perogies. Guess I'm stuck eating my own homemade camping perogies!

Are all teenage girls as difficult to raise as mine?
Posted: 7/27/2009 7:30:21 AM
after raising 2 girls myself i can certainly atest that girls at that particular phase in their lives are extremely difficult to raise.
It starts approximately around the ages of 10 years old until approx 17 years of age.
Thank god my youngest has finally come around as I had been estranged from them for couple of years due to family breakdown.\
Girls aborent behaviours can be attributed to hormones which ties into body image which can lead to bullying other girls. Many think their parents live in the dark ages and are shocked when they find out their parents did the same things they are trying to get away with. Many girls try to get away with murder for lack of a better term. They want to see how far they can push the envelope without major consequences.
The boys on the other hand, the have been very well behaved and respectful. Surprisingly. Boys when they are little can be on the rambuctious side at times but overall they have been extremely well behaved.
I only have daughters but their males friends have always been very nice to me.

Do ALL women think that men are stupid??
Posted: 7/26/2009 8:56:29 AM
its' not that men r all stupid they just ACT stupid.
Maybe they r trying to be funny or try to win favours and it gets botched up along the way.
Maybe some women don't have patience for men and the some of the games they like to play in order to impress us..
We just should all play nice in the sandbox cuz when u stick ur foot in ur mouth be prepared to get trounced upon.
simple as that!

Who Loves Thunder storms?
Posted: 7/26/2009 8:41:46 AM
we so needed the rain last night and it was indeed spectacular!!!
was pleasantly surprised for nature's show to light up the sky and the deluge of rain received.
We don't get thunderstorms on the coast due to being next to the oceans as opposed to the prairies where they are land locked.
God, I miss the thunder and lightening storms. Similar to a good friend.
Best places to see one ?? no idea. let me know when u find one! Probably in the interior.
in the GVRD? maybe Belcarra park?

Occasional smoker
Posted: 7/20/2009 10:13:05 PM
occassional smokers r pple who smoke regardless how much and how often.
i smoke off and on and depends on my emotional state which hasn't been so great as of late. I smoke only when extremely stressed as in a breakup which is a poor excuse.
I quit for 4 years picked up 1 smoke last year and then again while on holidays had several months away from smoking just to pick up again.
The cravings r wicked !
there is no such thing as managed smoking and pple who smoke off and on like me r the worst kind of smokers. They can't stand someone else smoking but r willing to preach all the perils of smoking. A hipprocrate .
Now, I need to get back to being a NON smoker simple as that !

Thinking too much?
Posted: 6/29/2009 8:19:05 PM
thinking too much is the same as over thinking and gets us into trouble.
We over think, over analyse create mountains out of molehills.
Its ok to think things though and then act on our thoughts.
Pple who over think tend to procrastinate and by the time they r going to carry out their thoughts , what they hoped to accomplish is gone, e.g. thinking about making a major purchase and the item is gone or not on sale.
On the other hand when u act without thinking that's not good either.
Over thinking leads to stinking thinking and causes anxiety becoming a worry wart then one can develop an ulcer.
Personally, i don't like to think period! never mind over thinking . It really gives me a headache.
My brain is akin to an 'ETCH a SKETCH" toy ... just give my head a shake and everything is erased!!!
