Too poor to date?
Posted: 10/19/2009 4:35:25 PM
I too pay out the money for the hair, nails, make up,perfume,clothes,shoes...for a date where the wine and dining were the best of the best. However, I have had the best dates ever after a day of some sort of a casual outside day...just when I thought I would have to say "Excuse me for not being at my best" was complimented on my easy going fun attitude and the way my eyes sparkled....guess sometimes we just have to be who we are and enjoy each others company. Oh ya and clothes can be overrated:)

Hey Duffster - if you are out riding on the path on Sunday - you might see a whole lot of folks picking up garbage - Sunday is the Annual River Clean Up. My group will be cleaning up right around the bridge in Inglewood.

I think it is time we go somewhere new - try out different digs. What end of town are you thinking of? I know a few new places in about every direction. Check the links, your best advice could come from those that have hosted events in the past...hint..hint.. Mon Cherie and Duffster

Riders of noisy modified motorcycles, hope you are listening

Sound of a motorcycle would have been music to my ears today - that would mean that the real Spring Weather came out and all were out having fun with their toys!
Would the real Spring Weather come forward?

any ideas?
Posted: 4/18/2009 9:18:06 PM
Scam, scam, scam! Tell her that you will go there to meet her first...try searching via the internet and you will probably see lots of others that have been through this. Ask more questions about where she lived here and if it looks copied/paste then it is and she really does not know. Tell her that you cannot afford this but you will support her 100%. Then she will ask you to take a loan out. Then ask her how the weather is in Nigeria - where most of the scam artists live. Oh yeah, and ask her for a picture of herself with her toothbrush or with the local paper showing the date. These people do this for a living and you may not even be speaking to the same person in every conversation. Do you phone her or does she phone you? You are young and you do not need that and I am pretty sure you could meet lots of gals that are just a bus ride away.

Think I better pass on the leg wrestling. Last time I took part in that sporting event, it was against a girl ( not in a skirt that I recall) and I blew her knee out. I might come for the roast beef dinner - I dont have to wrestle the steer do I?? :)

Maybe I will wear a skirt - the non leg wrestling kind

Brains or Beauty?????????????????????????
Posted: 3/30/2009 4:57:50 PM
Once upon a time .... I had the beauty....now I have the brains - wish they would have showed up at the same time. I think I was standing behind the door and someone announced "Here come the Brains" I thought they said "Trains" so I stayed out of the way.
For a partner or at least an interest, it is a package deal, the way his eyes sparkle and the big smile when he first sees you, the way he bites his bottom lip - as he is just a little bit shy and of course the way he makes you laugh until your tummy hurts! Common sense and gentleman manners will get me everytime!

Cuisine question just for fun..
Posted: 3/27/2009 2:50:27 PM
Anytime I cannot find the recipe that I am looking for - I google it! That is where I found the bread/custard pudding that they serve at the Mirage Buffet in Vegas. After looking at the recipe I realized why it was a vacation only dish - full of cream, more cream and then a custard to top it off! Hope it is still on the menu when I am down there in May!

Posted: 3/22/2009 6:22:37 PM
Thanks for the organizing the show... I have come to a observation - is it written somewhere in POF rules and regulations that when fishies meet other fishies at events the greeting is a hug followed by the grabbing of the arse and kissing on the cheek?? Cuz if it is... sign me up automatically to every event!

I dont know if I would ever Echo Duffster's comments - but I just hope to wake up in a bed.
Count down races begin! Went down to the Ranch tonight - everything is ready to roll for tonight. I am still trying to get a few newbies to tag along, mind you - one is out in Kicking Horse doing that famous outdoor thing, she will be sorry to miss this grand event. Thinking the Grand Finale for tonight or Sunday morning shall be breakfast at Denny's.
What is my thinkin' bone connected to???
Duffster - I am gathering up all my quarters - ready to fill up your dance card!
To all of those who have NOT signed up and are dragging your feet - I would say that you might as well attend this event, apparently you have not a lot planned by now :)
Love to chat, gotta run now! See ya soon dancing Bananas!

^^^^^ Gravelman - I will answer on Duffster and Papa's behalf - you bet your shined up boots you can still attend! Head up to the area directly behind the DJ Booth and for sure you will see smiling faces, the later you are probably the bigger smiles. As per mesg#38 - tell them at the door that you are with the POF group and they will wave you in without the cover charge!

Mass emails!!
Posted: 3/19/2009 3:30:33 PM
I read them - only to find out that Duffster is not asking me out on a dinner date with wine and lots of dancing....sadly I delete the message and go and sign up.
That mass email could be the final strength of encouragement to get that newbie to sign up and come out and have some fun and meet some really great folks! I think it is a great idea - come on it is only one more email or maybe it is the only email you have received all week! No one says to have to attend the event, but we all think that you should.

Monthly Ranchmans get together???
Posted: 2/15/2009 10:53:31 PM
Well - when I go down on a weekend, it is usually Saturday afternoon for the Jam session and stay till later on that night - like the song goes went for one and stayed till two. Saturday is for sure the busier day of the two weekend nights. I do agree Saturday is a better night - guess it depends on Ranchmans, and if they are going to consider our get togethers as a "corporate party" with the appys, drink specials and no cover till nine. As far as I know they only do the corporate parties on Friday nights. I am sure that Dancing Queen will let us all know. Either night does not matter to me as I don't pay cover charge anyways.

I wont be able to make it on Friday night, however I do have a request, can you make sure that "biggustofwind" has a great time? Like others, she is a tad bit nervous about coming out by herself. I said you wont be by yourself - you will be with over 200 people! Be nice - she knows martial arts!
I don't work tomorrow - so I am going down to the Ranch tonight.

Hiring a trainer
Posted: 2/8/2009 2:27:03 PM
My motivation came from who I used to be years prior when I was involved in pretty much every sport going. I suddenly realized that a few years had passed - was it motivation or just doing my pull ups and getting back into the lifestyle that I enjoy.

On a side note, I was at the Calgary Health show yesterday and had a Quantum biofeedback. WOW! That is very interesting!

Hiring a trainer
Posted: 2/6/2009 7:09:19 PM
I have had a trainer for awhile. Be wise about your choice, you get what you pay for. My club also has an online program, nutrition, classes and the support! They will teach you how to work smarter and not harder
They help with the goal setting - it is YOU that has to show up to make it happen.
My little trainer can kick anyone's butt - she is the smallest but the toughest on one of the "Roller Derby" teams in town.

I was wondering the same thing...Why Sundays? Not that I have to worry about it, but it can or was hard to get a babysitter on a Sunday evening.
I am sure that there are reasons why and the bowling is always a fun event however,
sadly I am up at 4:30 Monday morning to head off to work. :(

Or they could be part of a dating scam thing and they are probably working out of some internet coffee shop in a land far, far away and looking for your money - not at first but they will fall instantly in love with you.... and then move in for the 'sting'.
