questions about no contact rule
Posted: 12/17/2007 7:54:41 PM
I totally agree with Dark. How can you love someone for so many years and then hate them?My X and I co-parent and that is the extent of our communication. We do not hate each other, yet we dont call just to say hi.We both thought of the others pain and suffering over the break up after 20 yrs.And yes,it has been hard to date since my X and I get along.
Sounds like most have unresolved issues when it comes to X's.
I dont think you should be friends, but I do think you should be corgial[sp],to each other, after all,you should have done all your fighting/arguing while together. But calling just to say hey,how are you?Nope, and truthfully,.if I didnt have children, then nope,I would have no contact.
So it depends on the relationship.

And then you have the girls/guys sayin they want a LTR but are chatting with many and collecting favorites.Sorry,to old fashioned to deal with people of that nature. And yes, they do that even when not meeting on a dating site.

not sure where to put it

Dash can I give you an AMEN on that post of yours, ditto to everything you said.
I also have a child who for lack of a better word is disabled. She is profoundly deaf with a CI[Cochlear Implant].Now,my children have a father who is involved in their lives,so I dont need a man to "take them on".But with that being said,he does have to be a positive male "role model",be there for me,or,we can just date and keep "our" families seperate until we decide.
One thing no one has posted about,is what if this guy has a kid and something happens to it,where it has a disability. Now thats a scarry thought if you ask me.
Bottom line is this, its hard enough dating and finding that "right" fit, then you add X's,children, special needs children, etc.
So give the guy a break that he is not using her and is honest about NOT wanting that responsibility.
He should be honest and just say that he is not willing to take that ADDED responsibility on.I';m sure she has heard this before and it wont be the last time.
And yes ,there is a mature way to handle it.Being nasty and hateful is not the way.
Most of the people who have posted have been very imature.

Why NOT to look for ways to ease emotional pain?
Posted: 12/10/2007 1:54:56 PM
Because it's easier to blame everyone and everything than it is to look at the root of the problem.
And thats whats wrong with society today!!!!

Seperated does equal Married. And this woman states that he was seperated, then expressed shock that he was married.Think its all about getting attention

Might I suggest that Cobra II is read, plus if you really want to know what is going on in Iraq and the Stan, that you read some of the mil blogs. It might give everyone a broader view on things.
I totally support the troops, have adopted deployed units.Reguardless of why we are over there,we need to finish what we started.
Its easy to sit here and complain, but so much harder to take action and make a change.Dont hate or down the soldiers, stand up and make a change.
To those who served, past and present, let me give you a great big thanks for your willingness to serve.God bless you.

When you find out he's not who he says he is!
Posted: 11/27/2007 10:14:56 AM
4infinity,
I think you just described the whole list of things the guy I just broke up with had, smiles. My moto is you live and you learn.I seen the signs but decided to get the evidence and bust him in person. At first I was shocked that he thought I was that,gulliable/stupid/blind/needy/etc,but after getting the proof, well,it was sweet to show him that I wasnt stupid after all.Guess I had a point to prove, fatal flaw of a Scorp, lol.I tend to give them enough rope to hang themselves. On a positive note,I have met some really great guys, honest, loyal, dependable, etc, alas no connection for anything other than a deep lasting friendship. So chin up and soldier on.
