Has anyone almost came close to death yet ?
Posted: 8/6/2009 7:06:30 PM
- 7 years working as a psychologist in Central American war zones.

- back in the States, got hit from behind by a big rig on the freeway when I was pregnant with my son (we both survived) - flipped over, slid across the freeway and crashed into the center divider - hit and run.

Yup, been there; done that

My 5 yr old stills falls asleep in my bed.
Posted: 8/6/2009 6:52:07 PM
My son also "weaned" himself from my bed. I periodically would help him redecorate his room so he would love it there, and one day he just up and decided he would sleep there. But he still comes in with me sometimes to talk or read before I tuck him into his own bed.

Why do guys post pics of themselves with other women on a singles site?
Posted: 8/3/2009 4:32:47 AM
I have seen herds, flocks, flourishes of lovely young ladies in profile pix. Sometimes it is very difficult to pick out which lady is the one on the profile.

Ahem...the young ladies in question are the ones without hooves.

Just sayin...

On the other hand, "Slow and steady...." etc. etc.

If someone meets a person on an anonymous dating website and can't understand that he/she needs to take their time to get a sense of who they are, they're not worth fretting over!

Go at your own pace, OP. A person who's right for you will appreciate you for who you are and will not rush you.

Happy fishing!

Be careful out there!

Naps and health
Posted: 5/29/2009 2:35:42 PM
I love naps! But not real long ones, or I feel too drowsy afterward, then it's hard to get to sleep at night.

When I lived in Nicaragua everyone had a siesta, stores would close down, etc. - I really miss the custom.

Research is showing that naps are good for the heart!

And I say so much the better if you get to nap with a loved one!

Posted: 5/29/2009 1:59:03 PM
Take it easy - if you approach each meeting with a new person as an adventure, with curiosity about him, it'll seem easier than if you load yourself up with heavy expectations of finding your true love.

If nothing else, every time you go out, you will have some more practice in meeting new people and showing who you are, within the boundaries you set with each person.

Be careful, and have fun!

What do one line responses mean?
Posted: 4/20/2009 7:20:41 PM
If she's interested, she'd probably answer your questions and then ask you about yourself. It can also be that she doesn't have good conversational skills or is very shy. Try asking her to tell you about things that need more than a word or two to answer...like..."I'd like to hear more about...(something she mentioned in her profile)."

If she just can't or won't be more forthcoming, I'd assume either the interest isn't there or she wouldn't be a good match for you.

Good luck!

Erotic Toys & Your Partner
Posted: 6/8/2008 3:38:08 PM
Somone at work organized one of those parties for a co-worker's birthday when I was in my 20's. Before that I never knew these kinds of toys even existed (god bless the Catholic church!). It was like going to a very naughty p.j. party, and planted some enduring ideas in my brain.....

I think anything that contributes to people having fun together is a great thing!

Anybody remember that old Twilight Zone episode where the hen-pecked guy is the only survivor after worldwide nuclear destruction, and finds himself in front of an intact library with finally limitless time to read unbothered, and his glasses fall off and smash to smithereens?

At what age do females LOSE THEIR sex drive???????
Posted: 5/27/2008 7:00:43 PM
Y'all musta heard that old saying that the most important sex organ is the brain.... being with a partner who is considerate, caring, and playful in AND out of the bedroom keeps the fires burning.

Aside from that, the literature suggests strongly that women keep their desire indefinitely, and the main thing that gets in the way of having sex as an older woman is the lack of a partner. Changes in hormones after childbirth while nursing, and as a woman ages can make penetration a little more difficult, due to the thinning of the vaginal walls and decreasing lubrication, but having sex frequently (even by yourself) helps keep the tissues vital. And...I guess god knew what she was doin when she created Astroglide ...just sayin...

Chick and horses
Posted: 5/27/2008 12:10:22 PM
"Let a horse whisper in your ear and breathe on your heart. You will never regret it."

Some folks have been trying to figure out what's the deal with women and horses for centuries. Others just enjoy it. You don't have to ride a horse to be changed for the better by her or him. Appreciation for the horse can start in childhood or at any time of life. My best guess is that women and horses are both experts at survival, are powerful, intuitive creatures and usually rely more on flight than fight. A lot of us just connect (no, it's not the penis, guys...). The rest is magic.

I can't imagine my life without horses. They have taught me and given me so much. What a beautiful gift of nature.

PS: "Horse" actually includes donkeys and mules (and zebras)....all cool!

I guess I like to think kindness is its own reward;

Long Distance which is driving me insane
Posted: 3/19/2008 8:45:28 PM

long distance relationships are by default "booty calls"

...if you're lucky!

But seriously, folks....why try to put relationships in a little box? As long as both people are OK with it, why not? Especially when kids and jobs are concerned, it's not always so easy to pick up and move.

Long distance has its share of drawbacks, but on the other hand, you get to engage in looooong foreplay! Can make those in-person meetings - be they in smoky old taverns, around campfires, at the shore, in the mountains, in La-La-Land or on the great Palouse - all the more interesting!

To Chase or not to Chase...
Posted: 2/28/2008 3:11:07 PM
Here's some wisdom from the horse world: "Anything you chase will run away."

I prefer a dance, with a nice ebb and flow.

On another note:
With shoes like that if some man was to chase me, I wouldn't be able to get away... hhhmmm theres a thought.

Aside to GrnEyedQT: Girl, don't you know those shoes are not meant for walkin???

Parent Grade Viewers-do you use them?
Posted: 2/27/2008 7:11:48 PM
I love them and use them whenever I remember to!

It's great to be able to see if there are missing assigments, tests, etc.

My son has been absent a couple of times and I was able to get him in after school to make up tests that otherwise seemed to be slipping by the teacher. Saved him a "0" on the work - on one test that everyone else had failed he got 100% (I'm allowed to brag, I'm a mother - right?)

Valentine

If all the whole world's taxicabs
Came running to my call,
I'd park right by your door and honk,
In the handsomest cab of all.

We'd drive to Maine, Spain, or Spokane!
Could anything be sweeter

Upon a metal meter?
