Hi Dave
This looks like fun. I have never been to Tailgators. Hope to meet lots of people tonight as i have been keeping a low profile all winter but now that spring has sprung. Well you know what they say....
Actually I have been really busy managing my kids' hockey teams and the whole winter was spent running rink to rink, time for some me time - at last.
I will be there after hockey probably ten"ish

Posted:

Bring on the courtship!!!
However seems to me the major percentage of the guys in my town or let me rephrase -at least those on these dating sites, are entitled and must be gifted LOVE MASTERS with 10.5 inch endowments because most of them just wanna get in, get wet and get out. Not with this chickie I am afraid!!!
I get so many messages everyday and it's always the same crap just a different pile.
(sigh).

I am sorry to say but I have to side with the OP. It seems 1 in every 5 would actually like to get to know a person first. Most of the guys just want to get some and it's immediately. Makes you wonder how clean or healthy they really are. They don't realize alot of us might be sexual in nature but it still takes time and most reasonable girls do have some self-respect and don't just give it away to everyone who comes along. Holy Crap what is left to look forward to after you have given it up right up front. Where do you go from there? Besides sex for the first time with a new person is awkward enough there should be some level of intimacy there before hand so that if you do do something silly or say you do something the other person doesn't like at least there is some sort of base there and you won't solely be judging the person based upon what they did or didn't do right for you in the sack. On another point the idiots on here who are married and some of them are pretending to be single, as the Lord is my witness if i come across another one and you just happen to be shopping with your old lady at Walmart - you can bet your ass that i will out you to your wife. (play carefully boys!!) Some of us girls on here do talk and do socialize outside the pof world. I think for myself I might join match.com or lavalife as there is some truth to the fact that there won't be as many "SPECIAL PEOPLE" on those sites because they are paying sites and people think twice before they fork over their hard earned bucks and besides the married ones usually won't be on those sites in droves because their wives probably read the credit card statements. You know the lad who created POF did so with the best of intentions so thanks to him and kudos to those who have met their lifemates and are happy and good luck to all those still searching. btw girls, I have a pretty successful career but I like nice - no wait NICER things, and if a man wants to show his appreciation for the love that died at home I am all for that. I lived in a loveless marriage, so I can relate. Bear in mind, I never stepped out and nor have i ever been with a married man, always against my principles, seems as I get closer to 40 my ideals have changed and I am a little more liberal. Let's just say I understand what it's like to be in a bad situation, it's hard to leave a marriage, I can say this having worked in family law for 10 years, it's hard emotionally, financially and it's exhausting and that is why so many stay in a bad but comfortable situation.
Sure ideally I would meet a single man, maybe divorced too, and maybe with kids like mine, and he is confident in himself and his life and is ready to start over, but let's face it, a perfect world we don't live in and until that time I couldn't say that I wouldn't welcome companionship elsewhere.

Okay ladies
you are gonna be pissed at me but this is the way I see it. To me, there is nothing wrong with havin a guy who wants to spoil my ass. Look at it this way, it's an off an on steady date, with no complications, if he's married well that's his cross, not mine. Hell yeah,
What's wrong with being appreciated anyway.

thanks Celticmist.
I will probably think about gettin another dog in a little while. I have so much goin on right now that it just wouldn't be right and unfair to a puppy. I am alone with the kids 99.% of the time because my ex can't be trusted with them, but they are gettin older and more self-sufficient all the time, but I work f/t and I am taking p/t studies and I joined the gym to get the old figure back and we still have our quaker who seems to be going through his own grieving process. He used to ride on the dog's back around the house. it was really something to see. lol

the littlest guy, how old is he? in the smaller breeds the vet told me when they get older especially the toy breeds an ailment which is common to them is their O-Ring (which is located inside the trachea either collapses or narrows, hence the rationale behind the wheeze. This happened to Bear, my puppers who I had put down on Thursday, now mind you he was like this for 2 years, so don't be alarmed, but do get it checked out. Bear was a pomeranian and 3.9 kilos so he was on 5ml of hychodan that the dr. had prescribed. When I ran out of hychodan I gave him 2.5ml of children's gravol. Essentially the point of this is to calm them so that they may rest. Again, with Bear it started at night when his body was at rest and then progressed onward eventually. The last going off he was clucking like a chicken at some points but he also had a heart condition so, different story altogether. Good luck with your hairy kids. We are certainly missin ours tonight here at my house. Leanne

Need Help navigating GoodLife

Okay, so I joined GoodLife about a week ago and then I called Queen Street and agreed to meet this bonehead who would do my assessment and take even more of my money and set me up with a personal trainer for twelve more weeks. Well here I am a week later and several calls to but none from. I have no clue how to use those 9 machines, and I want to learn so I just called another location closer to home and not work, and god willing they are going to get me set up. Don't get me wrong, I am not totally helpless but if I am going to fork out all of the cash, I obviously want to do it right. So for now, I am content to use the eliptical, the treadmill and maybe try the yoga class, even though I still have not had my initial assessment. Talk about a disappointment! I had to put my dog down this week and it's been hard and I was hopin i could take my mind off it by starting this new regime and total body-mind transformation. Any advice??

thank you all for your kind words. Niagara Falls all over again. I knew I shouldn't have put my face on this morning - lol. The kids tore through the pictures this morning and they each brought pics with them to school to show their friends. My daughter was so angry last night til about 8:30 and then she had a meltdown. this morning i turned the radio on for BearBear as I always have for the past 16 years and then I realized, I just left it on, not sure why but I had to leave it on. Anyway we will get through this and thank you all for your kind words and touching stories. Leanne

After 16 years I had to put down our Pomeranian BearBear. He was the sweetest little thing and I can't imagine how it will be without him. It would have been much easier to put the ex down as opposed to the dog. Ever notice Dog is God spelled backwards? My kids are devastated and I remember as a child, whenever we lost a pet (because we always had one - especially dogs) my parents would say oh honey, he's gone to the farm. For god's sake I was oblivious - thirty years later and my dog was havin a happening time on the Farm. I had to tell my kids the truth and boy oh boy, what a painful pill that was. The kids want another pet but I think they should grieve this one or am I out of touch?

yeah well in Canada, it's all about the reasonable man theory, what a reasonable person in a similar situation will do. I am a fierce mama bear and if anyone tried, God help them cause they are goin down those stairs and whether or not they are alive at the end depends on which way they bounce I suppose after they've landed. In Canada the Criminal Code says no more force than is reasonably necessary. Sorry they are going down if they think they are gettin in here.

Okay well I had a date earlier this evening (didn't last very long). Actually it was with a lawyer whom I worked with for a number of years, Italian guy, for over a year we have been pretty close friends but had been getting closer. the load of crap I got tonight - and this is classic - his Italian family would not approve of him picking up with an english/irish white trash divorcee with kids. At that moment I knew, he would be enjoying my company no further, I will never make excuses for the reason I have kids. ever. I married a guy (an Italian - think I'd learn eh?) it didn't work out, he was abusive and an alcoholic - still is as a matter of fact - but like most girls - I had three-legged dog syndrome and I thought I could help him overcome his demons and make his life better, yaddah yaddah. No more BS - having kids has taught me tolerance and compassion but i have no tolerance for the man child selfish types. and what the hell is so wrong with wanting the kids to eventually hopefully end up having a decent father figure in their lives anyway? HUH?

Muslim girl ejected from tournament for wearing hijab

Lyrical Girl you rock
my sentiments exactly. Certainly don't want to arouse a religious debate but when you think about - all this public outcry from certain religious sectors of the populus.
If for example catholics raised a stink about what we don't like - half the bloody drug companies would be out of business because if we technically (wink'wink) had our way they certainly wouldn't be allowed to market birth control. those poor souls at GSK and Merrck Frosst must be twitching right about now. The problem with the majority and sadly I fit into that cradle catholic theory (born catholic and act catholic when I feel like it) We sit back and let the various groups and religions roll us over, stick it to us and we just smile and nod.
You are 100% right on the money when you say - start a league for muslims only and then they can do wtf they want and the status quo won't bother them and for a change they will leave the stagus quo alone.

Work problem
Posted:
3/3/2007 6:10:08 PM
The one great thing about Ontario and the Employment Standards Act is that if it is within the probationary period - you don't need a reason to terminate. And today in the white collar environment - today they don't terminate the person - they are smarter than that they terminate the employment agreement so that they are not left open. You gotta be pretty freakin bad to get terminated for cause in ONtario these days. I don't know if your manager/boss is a rocket scientist or not (lol) but if this guy is a whack job he should terminate now during the probationary period cause if he waits and this guy does have a mental illness - the company will have to keep this lad forever - hell he may end up running the company.

Dude
Chances are this guy is whacked out on crack or AJax. Seriously, he might be bi-polar or have another mental illness. You need to inform the boss - actually you owe it to your boss and your co-workers. If this guy is suffering from a mental illness and goes postal one day - you will never forgive yourself or worse if you work with the guy you might not have the opportunity to even experience regret.
Deal with it early and move on - hopefully the boss has a contact person or family member contact for this fellow so that he can at least say he tried to get this guy the help that he obviously needed.

A girlfriend of mine and I went to a gay bar once when we were alot younger - just to see what it was like and we were hit on by older women (a couple) who were like in their 40's which at the time and to two 20 year olds, they were like 100 - lol.
That was enough for me to creep me out and to never go into one of those clubs again.

I agree with Lilblond too.
I remember my best friend and I going through this devastation period the January just before our 30th birthdays. I had my kids and then I realized for all of the other shallowness in my life that I am just a small speck in the world like everyone else and that of course I was the most important thing to my kids and that they were what mattered. I know a few people who have never been married, no kids and who live on PLANET ME - what leaves me rolling in laughter on the floor is they believe themselves to be educated, well off perfect catches - but hey those of us few small specs in the world who don't believe ourselves to be perfect and realize that their is a higher love than ourselves (ie. family and friends) couldn't possibly ever keep up - let alone measure up to those people. So hey I have learned not to mess with the perfect ones - after all they are too good for me!

I totally miss going to the clubs to go dancing. It's great exercise, great way to mingle and have fun. It seems everybody wants to go to freakin movies or galleries or to eat. I have one girlfriend from work who likes to go to the clubs but she is 24 and we are kind of on different wave lengths. I sympathize with some of the gals on here, most of my friends my age are married or on their 2nd marriage so they are happy and content to sit and watch their thighs grow. Not this chicken - but hey i am the mercy of the younger crowd and they usually wanna go to the younger bars.

Okay ladies - I am probably going stag too. In the event I do, can I hang with you. There's strength in numbers I hear. lol. I am usually not that shy either but it is usually in a different social scene.

I hear ya and totally agree
It seems more and more of the fellows I have had the honour to meet on this site seem to want nothing more than a rubdown so to speak. I am not sure if this is the venue to use or not but it beats the alternative when you don't have the time to meet in a traditional setting
