The use of the Police in this instance is the same as when a 7 or 8 yr old gets caught shoplifting do you think the owner is out for a lynching,maybe jail time? don't think so but a good scare works wonders.How many people you hear say "When I got caught stealing in a store as a kid they took me up to the office,called the Police and then I got a ride home in the Police car" you all know the rest.Then the person says I NEVER did that againthe cops scared the s*it out of meWas it worth the dramain my opinion.Some kids just never grow up and then they have kidswhat do you think they teach them ?

Hey Mike sorry I don't want to get off on the wrong foot but you have to GO BACK and look at your message,read it a few more time and see if you realize what you've said.Think of what it would be like to tell someone(your wife,your mother) that your child was injured,stolen or even killed while your inside getting right coffee and donuts.If you have kids or not the elderly or animals use the same #1 rule and your chances of something happening to your loved ones goes down dramatically. # 1 RULE = USE YOUR HEAD DUDE

No lurking for this subject When it's got to do with kids,elderly or animals. I WILL TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY My opinion you should have call the police and then gone in and got the store mgr to come outside to see what going on in his parking lot(liability) and with him confront the parents and tell them they have to wait until the police show up.With you the mgr there they will see that you are serious about what happened.If they don't want to stay,let them go but take the plate # down. Some people think what's the big deal,well we don't have to get into all the things that could've gone wrong.
