Women's Financial Status
Posted: 8/2/2008 4:11:40 AM
why womens financial status? Im not particularly politically correct- but maybe better as persons financial status. Ive always mostly paid my own way. I wouldnt have a problem either of us paying more if one person was well able to. But neither am i a user- honesty and no deceit.
I say on my profile solvent man and have qualified it as able to support yourself- as I dont have enough to support another if they are really brassic.

And just loving someone is enough I hear others say- but it dosnt last if you meet someone who cant pay their own way and expects you to fork up when you barely have enough to meet your own committments.

And at the end of the day- I guess if you really get on- Id hope to find a compromise!

If you want to book a hotel in manchester- best prices are to be had if you go on laterooms.com or booking.com ....for manchester city centre.

Incidentally The Britannia on portland street where the do is (Brittania Sachas is a diff hotel but not very close by) is no more than 49 (for one) and 59 (for two) on booking.com- not many rooms left tho for sat 26th July.

Hotels I know that are near to the Brittania,Portland Street- if its full are
Brittania-Sachas.....Palace Hotel....Gardens Hotel.....Novotel -Mcr Centre,Dickinson Street....Macdonald Manchester Hotel.....Malmaison....Merchants Hotel(might be a bit riffy-not sure)....

For a bit of luxury if you can afford it or get a deal
Nearby is the Abode.....not far the Radisson Edwardian(former free trade Hall)....Midland or the Hilton.

Not listed on those two sites is an Ibis and a premier Inn on Portland Street- very near to the Brittania- you are welcome to get in touch with me if you see a hotel and are unsure of how its placed to the Brittania.

Losing a loved one to death
Posted: 6/22/2008 12:48:09 PM
Good to talk- yes it is!!

I have my 2 sons 18 and 21- Im nowt special- their dad died in dec 2003 at 47 - they miss him too- many people feature on the spouses - but what about the children- my eldest- nearly 21 wants to engage in money stuff- just looking after me, - as i know im still on a spiral of daftness.

Death affects us all- and has a way of making you look at things differently- no one I ever knew well died till i was at least 40+ apart from older grandparents- Im lucky really- gives me a chance to be respective etc.

Get in touch anyone that wants to xxx

I lost my husband- as said you never really get over a death- just learn to live with it and try and fill your life with things to do and hopefully other things will fulfill your life in lots of different ways : its only when you read a thread like this that makes you realize the sorrow ( Joy too in the life of the lost one) born by so many people.

Many many happy memories.

Death vs Divorce
Posted: 11/30/2006 12:47:46 PM
As many different people you ask they will all say how something in their lives affected them.
There is no answer to the question posed by this thread.

I am 47 and have been widowed for 3 years and miss my husband a lot. My kids are two boys of 16 and 19 now- dont forget the others affected by divorce or death or other bad events.

There are great similarities in both of these events but I would feel it is unfair to make out one worse than the other.

Why does one have to be worse than the other- both are tragic.

Jane.

Continental Xmas coach trip to Ostend
Posted: 9/8/2006 1:47:25 AM
I arrange a coach trip for 20 to 45 people each year from Didsbury,Manchester and Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire to Ostend. Other stops are possible at discretion of coach driver.

This year we are going from 1st to 4th December 2006- 3nights! Last few years has been a 2 night trip.

We book with National Holidays and can take up to 45 of us. There are 28 of us this year, mainly single- you dont have to be though.

Trip includes coach travel to and from Ostend, including tobacco and chocolate warehouse stop and a visit to cash and carry or hypermarket.

Bruges is nearby for those who want to visit it with its amazing history.

Lots of our coach tend to spend most of the time in the bars of Ostend.
Also included is dinner, B and B and a limited free bar in the hotel in the evenings. The hotels National Holidays use are the Westminster group near the beach and casino in Ostend.

Price is £175 fo 20 to 30- £155 for 30 to 40 and £139 for over 40.
