"I think that all those people on welfare and "Benefits Checks" should have to do a drug test before getting their check"
Only if this includes CORPORATE welfare.

('
') you still have to whiz in this cup!")

re: men in Grocery stores

In the immortal words of Smokey Robinson and Barry Gordy,
"My mama told me...'you better shop around' "
A few thoughts on your dilemon:
Someone brought it up a few threads ago: men can be thick as bricks as far as taking hints, or just plain shy. For all the perceptions of men as pursuers, a little prod does not hurt
If someone catches your eye, just make a little small talk related to what you are doing.
No need for a Mrs. Robinson or Mrs. Dean Wormer scene (*Animal House Grocery Store scene involving cucumbers!
) But just enough to start a conversation.
Question: Heck, everybody gets hunry sooner or later, so what better place to meet the human race than the local grocery store!
Answer: The local farmer's market! Besides supporting local agriculture, you can flirt with the merchants, or ask that cutie for advice; "How are the peaches at that stall?" "Luscious!"
Good Luck!

Where to meet available women?

So often, (even for us non-parents) the social network constricts, so your potential dating pool shrinks.
In your case, there are all those Momly and Dadly places to go! You don't say how old your little squirts are, but, for example, the playgrounds are swarming with Moms, PTA meetings, soccer/little league games, youth groups, etc.
Even if most of the women you meet are married, they are fellow parents with whom you can socialize, and they can sympathize. If they think you are a good fellow, and you tell them they are looking, you might just bring out the matchmaker in them. They would be happy to introduce you to so-and-so, who is also single... Capiche?
Also, tell me that none of your kids' friends have single Moms!
Good Luck, Pops!

Twice met s/o w/out a picture...

When I first began internet dating, I did this twice. Once it even followed up some zingy, witty conversations back and forth. I suppose I could have asked for a picture, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. When we met, there was zilch in the chemistry department. Even worse, one was for dinner rather than coffee. It was unbearable because there was no connection and conversation just choked and died.
It may sound shallow, but I have come to terms with the fact that I am just more attracted to certain types and appearances than others. (e.g., brunettes vs. blondes. Don't aske me why; it's just how I'm wired.) Granted, there have been times when pictures have been deceiving, but at least it's a starting point. Got to be true to myself.
