Can men and women be friends without sex?

If you are REALLY, REALLY attracted to the person, it could be very difficult to "just be friends." However, I have lots of guy friends and always have, but we don't have sex; and some of them I have been friends with for many years, but our friendship is not based on sex, only on the actual friendship. I have made the mistake of sleeping with a really good guy friend that I have been hanging around with for years: yep, the sex was great, but now we don't talk because we both know it's something that shouldn't have happened. So in other words: it is very possible to have friends of the opposite sex, but having sex with them is likely to only ruin that friendship.

One of the best I got was from a guy I had been in a serious relationship with for 2 years, but then he chose to marry an old friend of mine. He couldn't seem to let go of me though, and when he got divorced, we got back together. After being together again for about a year and a half I hear "I still love you, but I really need to see what it is like to be single."

What made it even more funny is the fact that he was with a new girl only 3 days later: Wow, if only it actually took 3 days out of about 6 years or more to "find out what it's like to be single" He moved in with her about 4 months later, but is still always trying to get with me.
Hey buddy, I think you would have been better off saying " I thik I need to know what it's like being playa!" He seems to have mastered that.
