How do you stop the kids from hurting when a parent abandones them
Posted: 5/1/2008 8:16:08 PM
Great post!! My ex walked and never looked back either(when my youngest was in diapers)...my boys are now 22 yrs and 18 yrs. My youngest to this day doesn`t trust anyone...but he`s not a bad person for it..I reassure them all the time and that I am their biggest fan!! And having two boys I made sure we went ice fishing and got to ride 4 wheelers ect. And I never said a bad word about their dad...I just always told the truth about why he left and being angry only wastes your own time. We don`t have time to waste. We have lots of people that care and want to spend time with us. My sons have accepted this fact and had a great time so far growing up. They tell me all the time. And I`m not saying my family was there for us either...not at all!! I turned to my friends...I now have friends that we consider family. Very close....honestly..I wouldn`t change a thing. My boys dad knows what he missed out on...I made sure he knew ...a little devil in me now and then...lol...
Like many have said on this thread...ALWAYS BE THERE FOR THEM and ALWAYS SAY I LOVE YOU!!

Why men wont date independant women
Posted: 6/16/2007 7:47:14 PM
I think independence is someone who takes the initiative to take care of themselves..I had a rough upbringing and was told I have become street smart...altho I grew up in the country...I had to learn do be independent at a very young age just to survive...which has carried with me over the years and has made me very independent. If you are given the chance to make your own choices in life you will become more independent....it is built up within us....I think independent women just ahve a fear of a man coming along and taking their independence away...society says ...or at least used to say...that a women needed a man to take care of her...run the household...well, its not that way anymore and us independent women just get very protective of what we have because we achieved it independently...on our own...we want credit for it..and are proud we have obtained what we have...We are very picky about what man will fit in our lives as not to mess with our independence...because it is who we are and would not be happy any other way......

Funniest thing ever happened to you during sex?
Posted: 4/22/2007 9:21:57 AM
My ex and I just moved in together...and we had come home from a wild night of drinks and dancing....after our wild romp in the sack I went to the bathroom...when I came back out...I saw him sitting on the edge of the bed with this horrified look on his face as he is looking down between his legs removing pieces of green spearmint gum from his ...well you know...lol....he had no idea what it was....I just stood there for a moment...and blurted out.."Thats where my gum went!"...lol.....I still crack up everytime I share this story...after he`d figured out it was my chewing gum...he laughed so hard for about 30 minutes....I`ve learned to remove the gum first...LOL

how do people do this?
Posted: 1/27/2007 1:15:22 PM
A family is a family wether there are 2 or 8 people in it.....I have been a single mom for many years...and my two boys never even recieved xmas or birthday gifts from their dad. But they have had super role models through out their lives...they are 21 yrs and 17 yrs now and both A, B students...my oldest is in his 3rd yr. college...just got back from a college trip to Maylasia...my youngest is a computer geek...and loves poetry....the point is we survived...on little or nothing.....and with out their dad....I never bad mouthed him either...the boys learned on their own...what an A** he is all on their own....it is his loss for not being there..I have many memoriable moments with my boys and we are so close to this day....I also didn`t forget about myself thru it all......I have a life of my own...it is very important to not forget about yourself as the kids grow up fast....and need to make lives for them selves....be supportive and seek out good role models...you won`t reget it...

Child support... how much??
Posted: 1/27/2007 12:54:46 PM
jennymac....you are very fortunate...when me and my ex divorced.....he started a new family and tried to tell the courts(in a letter..didn`t even show for court) that...didint want to pay for the two boys here....judge gave me the letter...come to find out my two boys have two new half sisters they didn`t even know about..then my ex switched jobs(different state) quit paying his child support...they couldn`t find him...I had to track him down myself..numerous long distance phone calls...and almost a year later they finally started collecting from him...but I had to do ALL the foot work.....wonder if its all worth it....but you can also get their tax refund every year if they owe you money...it`s been pure H*** for many years...alot of heartache and drying up tears for my boys....now the youngest graduates HS this year...I`m relieved it`s over(child support pymnts that is)

BACKFIRED LIKE A MUTHA!!!
Posted: 1/26/2007 5:30:15 PM
Ya...I think revenge is a waste of time....as you get older you realize the other person usually get whats coming to them without any interference from you and things some how justify themselves....and you have moved forward thinking "wow I`m glad I let that one go"
I think we have all done something that has backfired on us...and I say...write it up as a life lesson...and move on...youve learned something new in life(or what NOT to do next time)

Why are older women not into younger guys???
Posted: 1/25/2007 8:38:05 PM
Most older women probably wouldnt take you seriously
You may find some older women to share same life experiences..but
far and few between...as their lives must be at a stand still...I would
rather have a wise ol man(let him believe it anyway) who
knows what a woman REALLY needs....not trying to be cruel to younger
men....but I think older men are more apt to share the pleasure than
to just persue it....good luck in your journey

Help a single guy that can't cook out
Posted: 1/25/2007 8:26:37 PM
When no one is around to cook for and its just me(and the dogs)
Put a chicken breast, porkchop or burger patty in the oven 350 degrees for 20
to 30 min. Make sure your chic. and pork or done in the center.
Scrub a potatoe and poke it a couple of times with a fork(dont stab your
self) cook in the micro oven 5 min one side, turn over cook 3 min more.
And always have bags of frozen veggies on hand....put a bowl of those in the micro...
season to taste....really simple...just like anything else...trial and error..
but you will get the hang of it
