what does this mean when a woman says
Posted:
8/28/2006 4:48:11 AM
Can mean many things. Perhaps she is just a very giving person. Takes many kinds to run a world. I know many people that way, usually female, sometimes guys. I myself am a very energetic person, seeing the larger picture and not much on details. Someone who notices the details more may see someone in need sooner than other types. I am very compassionate and love to defend...just don't always see the trees. I tend toward seeing the entire forest.

So was this post just to start an argument? I see no LOGICAL purpose in the broaching of this subject. Seems rather rhetorical.

What type of traveller are you?
Posted:

Less developed, southern, medium budget.
Less developed: I just hate fake things, and things less-developed areas are more down-to-earth.
Southern: I like warm weather.
Medium Budget: I like the challenge of seeing what accomodations I can come up with that are a little off the beaten path. Once in Mexico, stayed in a REALLY cheap, older motel for about $10 one night, in the state of Nayarit. Looked JUST like something from a Clint Eastwood movie, I kid you not. Stone walls, stone floors, stone shower, stone toilet, HUGE wooden door with some kind of ring clasp. TOO totally cool. No hot water, and I did my laundry with a mexican lady in the enclosed courtyard on a stone washstand BY HAND, lol!! And hung it out on lines, still there in the courtyard. I was euphoric. LOVED loved loved that place.

best ways to get even with your ex
Posted:
8/20/2006 1:29:38 PM
Um, life has this weird way of evening things out. I was married to someone who used to lock me in rooms, disable my vehicle, all kinds of fun things. The last thing he did was sleep around with some cow (sorry big girls...not a general slur...this was a skuzz female), and then leave. About 10 years later, I hear through the grape vine that he has an accident at work and loses a nut and almost his life. Life is weird that way. I would never wish it on him in a million years, but it's almost scary how karma bites ya in th azz.....be careful mean people.

I'm used to guys from growing up with brothers, so most of my friends are guys. Now, if I meet another chick and she likes to do things like fishing, camping, working on her own vehicle, riding horses, riding motorcycles, rollerblading, can laugh at stupid stuff and herself, is genuine AND we can have each other's backs? We'll be buds. If not, hang what people think.
Get 'er done!!

Signs that a woman is single?

One load of laundry at the laundry mat, small sizes of food at the grocery store, seeing her alone at PetSmart on Sunday. With her dog. Seeing her at the park with her dog on Sunday, alone. Only buying female clothes at the store, hair and makeup done to go to the grocery store, seeing her sitting at a club sipping her drink alone, seeing her LEAVE the club alone (probably works the next day), her eating in a restaurant alone, ad infinitim......

Be happy to give away trade secrets. Never smoked, never got into drugs, don't eat a lot of fat, don't eat much meat, run, play sports, THINK young (HATE that "I'm so damn old and tired" mentality), never was a club type person, do what feels right for ME. Don't listen to societal stereotypes and expectations about what I'm supposed to be like. I'LL decide. I do have 2 bad habits. Sleeping habits suck and I love caffeine.

Dating Older Men

I HAVE, but it's an exceptional man when I do, 'cuz I ain't dead yet, and I get on some guys' nerves because of the energy level. I'm no child (34), but done been blessed with a lot of adrenalin (cop ran a drug test on me once on a traffic stop, lol...said I was too hyper....he was 45). My cousin married a guy about 15 years older and they had a baby together. Sweet little boy, but my cousin is SOOOO much more calm.

Fake Pictures
Posted:
8/20/2006 7:39:01 AM
I have a good one. Posted an ad on Craigs looking for a roommate, and this guy answers, says he's around 45 and looks it, no pic, says he had black hair, 6', 180, would be wearing a dark green polo shirt and khaki pants. So we agree to meet, I show up early so I can watch the door of anyone coming/going in that place so as not to miss who I was supposed to meet (I am anal about being places on time). A dude pulls up with GREY hair, black shirt, oh but there are the khaki pants, lol! So I sit, watching him, he goes in to have coffee, acts like he's waiting also, so I cowboy up, bite the bullet and walk in and ask him. Are you James (name changed to protect the weird)? He says no. So I leave. I get back home, check my email, GUY IS RANTING!! I'm like waaaaa???? Says he hopes I had fun at his expense, because HE showed up and where the hell was I? He talked just like that too. I'm shaking my head, and tell him, look. You obviously have issues and I suggest you take it up with your psychologist, because you do NOT have black hair (was completely grey), you are NOT 6' (around 5'7", pot belly), and you most certainly are not 45 (looked around 60). Not even the color of his stupid SHIRT was right!!! The only thing that was right in his description was the color of his khaki pants. Oh please. I woudn't have cared were he 61, if he was grey, and I SURELY don't care what color shirt a man wears, lol!! And THEN to yell at me when he emails me again for not showing UP? I wasn't looking for a BF. Just a roommate. So much for olders guys being more mature. Not always. Do do do do do do do do.....just be careful to meet people in public for the first time. I get creepy feelings though every time I pass a Starbucks....

Nigerian Scams
Posted:
8/20/2006 7:25:23 AM
What IS it about Nigeria that breeds such disgusting behavior??? I live in Virginia Beach, and was down by the water one day and got a flat tire. Going rate for a used tire around here is $30. Nigerian dude charged me $60!!!!!!!!! Didn't have a choice. Rolled in there with my radial juuuuust about to peel off. Could see it starting. So I wasn't in a position to price compare. Then he had the nerve to give me his business card and suggested I tell my friends. Oh, believe me, I have been. Just for all you locals, he's in the 17th St. area somewhere. Can't remember the exact addy or name of the shop, but you'll recognize the place when you hear the guy talk. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Rip-off!!

Austin City Police DO not play and their attitudes are NOT good, lol!! Love the police officers here in Virginia. So polite.

What makes a woman feel most empowered?
Posted:
8/18/2006 4:20:19 PM
I LIKE men, so I don't want to become TOO independent (hear me roar, lol), but what feels powerful is having been through some really serious shyt and am still able to come out with a positive attitude, no chip on shoulder (no patience for negativity anyway :D). THAT is when I know God loves me and no one can keep me down. And it's called, I get to spread that good stuff around.

What makes a guy stand out, to you?
Posted:
8/18/2006 4:08:25 PM
I know this will suck, but most females are picky about how things are worded, and can the man SPELL? HUGE huge turn-off to get something like this:
Hey. It's me. Call me. (actual email once and it was his first email...zzzzzzz)
And I'm like, WTF??? ROFL!! "Um, no?"
Or this:
So, like, what are you into and what are you looking for?
And I might answer, "uh, not marriage? please??"
Start off with maybe a couple of sentences about yourself. Someone emailed me once with an entire thesis on the wonder of them. I read about the first 2 sentences. Maybe some women like long letters, but I'm not so long on patience.

I've done things for guys twice in my life. One I was involved with and it was clothes. The other one had no car to go visit his kids, so I hooked him up with a cheapie. For the kids. The car thing was probably a dumb move, but I felt sorry for the kids.

Sorry for the second post....this is a cool thread.....the direct and HONEST approach does work sometimes. I was up in Richmond (I live in VA :D) once, and was in a store, and this one guy and I had the eye thing going on, it was too obviously mutual, and finally, I probably just broke the ice with some off the wall comment like, "dude, are you following me, lol!!" Cracked him up, lol!! So we ended up exchanging info, but nothing ever came of it. I live like 2 hours from him.

I do it, so why not?? I talk to all kinds of people, just about anywhere. Grocery store, Wally World, post office, car wash, library....some of them are probably thinking, who IS this chick, ROLF!! 'Cuz that's just me. I "exude" enthusiasm, and just a joi d'vivre (Miss Happy Face, a.k.a., Sunshine ) :D. So why not. And when guys do it to me, usually I'm cool with it. Ok, there WAS that one dude who kept following me around in Wally World, but I'm pretty much not shy and the whole store knew it when he wouldn't stop.....BUT other than him....
