hello, !! i think that the title to your forum is absoluely correct !!! i really admire the men who take the challenge to raise thier own kids , who have the guts to stand up and know the world is full of people who find out about kids and run... i am a single mother my self i have 2 boys ages 10 and 12, but my situation is different, i'm choosing this b/cause of abuse.. yes there is alot of help for women , but i think that men should be able to get the same awards, allotments, and {thumbs up} if you will, that women do for taking that stand !!! all the men here where i live talk about being a good dad, but where are they when it comes down to the sick nights, or the days when nothing goes right? i am very glad there are men like you that still exsist, and KUDOS to ALL of you !!!!

abusive men

hi! ya'll yeah, abusive men can change..... thier stories of where they've been, why they do the abuse in the first place, why it's your fault they have to hit you, why it's your fault that they cheat, they blame every one else for thier probs, it's not them that have the prob, it's you, when it first starts out you know the "honey moon phase" e/thing is great!! then they realize that life is'nt gonna change you, so they try to beat it into you, that it's o.k to control e/thing and that you should HAVE to put up w/it, i'm speaking from 15 yrs experience here, they have a saying, when he's great the first few days, wait till s/ thing does'nt go his way, the dr. jeckyl and mr. hyde syndrome !!! usually give it 6 months till you see the real man that he is...., but dont put up w/ the abuse or the put downs, thats just thier way of trying to control you, so you dont do what he's doing !!!! or figure out that he may be a control freak like my -x- was !!! RUN RUN RUN and thank the good lord you got away !!!!!!!!!

Has anyone made a point of dating tall women?

o.k., i'm 6"ft tall, w/ my boots on 6"1 and a half, for me being able to hold on to a man , and not having to worry whether or not he's gonna suffocate , is not the issue, for me, it's knowing that i can hold on, and have fun !!! especially if were' eye to eye, or i actually have to look up, getting that grip, feeling like your being held, and not just tip toe-ing around, it's knowing that a MAN is holding you, it's almost a secure feeling, when your dancing, or just a huge hug, short or tall, got to love them all !!!

Misunderstandings over 'Separated'

i disagree, there are some intances when the jerk that you are married to decides that it's o.k. to go live w/ his first cousin,{ as man and wife}, knowing that in the state that we live in, it's illegal as hell, and no body in the law, will do ANYTHING about it !! so it's fair for an abusive alcoholic, to live in a brand new home that he paid for, w/4 kids that are'nt his, with a woman {and i use this term loosely}, that he says is a known whore, and a crack-whore at that, while HIS children, and "common law" wife have absolutely nothing? he refuses to spend the money to file for a divorce, because he would rather try to impress a girl, that could care less if he lives or dies, and do everything he can to take his children away from the only person in thier lives that gave them stability? this man has been asked several times to get a laywer and get a divorce, but he refuses, how would that be a lame excuse for the woman in that situation, to say, i'm divorced {when she's not}? legally seperated would be a lie to, because no papers have been filed to make that claim, and i dont think that putting seperated on a profile means that they ever have any intention of ever getting back together, i do understand what your saying because thier are people that put that," with the intent that if we do get back together " but not ALL of them feel that way, and i hope that there are people out there that realize that seperated means seperated, no "significant other" or{ mabe we'll get back together one day}
