Is it wrong for a Lady to be offended when called WOMAN?
Posted: 10/24/2007 12:15:01 PM | | the term 'lady' comes from feudal times and refers to the wife of a lord, therefore a 'lady' is a member of the aristocracy; a parasitical class, still present but now obsolete in todays society, as a woman i would not want to be tarred with that particular brush. having said that words change over time and it depends on the context and tone of voice or the intention behind the word. all things considered i would prefer to be called a woman than a lady. | | | |
