I believe maturity, personal preference, and feeling comfortable with yourself in a quiet way key shorter man-taller woman relationships.
From my perspective, taller women often experience more opportunities for character growth, and that personality growth is soo soo soo attractive.

It could be any one of a zillion things.
It could be that he is very interested insettling down and marrying and you aren't quite at that level of certainty. In that case it is an hedge against the emotional Armageddon of losing you.
It also could be venting mechanism related to this.
It also could be the case that he is very serious in settling down with someone period.
Or, he could be an untrustworthy jerk.
Every man like every woman is different.
Your heart should know best. Does he say he loves you and wants to be with you forever? Is he a sincere with you? Is he a sincere person?
