Changing Your Password Mail From BigFish
Posted:
11/3/2009 12:38:22 PM
Hmmm... I just found out all this is going on when a fella wrote me and said he couldn't access my favorite song without registering for a password at Imeem. My link on Facebook is still active, andI was trying to figure out how to put the link back up here when I found this tread.
Since it's been soo long now, is there any reason to change my POF password now?

I would like to learn how to get emails about future POF events.
Simon,

Silly not to post a picture...yes it truly is., but I didn't either until after nearly a year.
First off anyone who sees your pic on here had to be on here for some reason - no?
Second, there very person you thought you didn't want to know you were looking may well be the one who was waiting to introduce you to someone until they were sure you were ready....
Third, the world has really changed sweetie, and we just have to get used to it. This is the age of computers and if you are afraid of them, you are just "outdated" - and yes the punn was intended.
If you think about it, most everyone hates blind dating, and the first thing you know about a person in real life is what they look like. It's only natural for us to want to see who we are considering spending our time to get to know. As long as you are worried about your weight, people will notice it. You just naturally project that insecurity. When you focus on your best points, that's what they will notice instead!
Also, you may not be aware of this, but our latest forum posts are automatically quoted at the bottom of our profiles. You have set off sirens posting about your wieght, and then have no picture to boot. If a man should take the time to read your profile, you have scared him off. The worst part about internet dating is letting down someone you are not interested in. Why would he risk that situation when the odds are he would be jumping into that situation.
Post a picture as soon as possible so he can see that you are happy and positive. And post some positive things on a few forums so they will show on your profile instead of only negatives.
And good luck to you sister...it's hard starting over!

Smoking.....Occasionally???

Rose9100...
I wish you good luck with quitting, and suggest first you decide whether you are a smoker or not. TRYING to quit is not a commitment that will lead you to success. Once you decide, remember that it will take a full month of fighting the urge to relapse, but it will subside continuously after that. I used Lobelia tea with peppermint tea to help with the cravings. Lobelia replaces the void in the brain synapses that nicotein leaves behind which releaves some of the cravings. The peppermint was to replace the menthol, which you may or may not need. Inhaling the steam as it steeps is very similar to taking a drag. I also carried a piece of a straw cut to the size of the cigarettes I used to smoke and when I had a strong craving, I used to take a really deep breath through the straw.
Now once you quit, if you come up with a solution for the weight gain, please return the favor and let me know what your solution is!
Good luck,
Debbie

My 2 cents
I vote for changing it to smokes - WHAT & How often
What really gets me is someone who says "ask me" and then won't repond to the question when you do. WTF???
I'm an ex-smoker - 5 years clean from tobacco after 27 years of a pack a day+, and I don't want to be around cigars or cigarettes anymore even one time a week. I can take an occassional pipe with aromatic tobacco, but a daily pipe smoker is not occassional. On the other hand, there are many other things that can be smoked that don't offend me like herbals, cloves, etc...

Great party, thanks for all your efforts.
I missed the comedy show, but still had a good time. I sure wish they'd get that AC fixed, but after more than 35 years in business in the same location I guess you can expect a few maintenance problems. I used to party at teh Why Not when I was a kid...not much has changed.

Unfortuntely there is no fine line to this. You give up a little bit of yourself so gradually that you don't know its happening. If you are questioning it now, you have probably already reached that wide gray area that is way too dangerous to linger in.

Just a thought...
I've been checking out a new place on 192 North of Disney Main gate for the next party. The place is pretty big, and I think we could get all of the Central Florida groups together there. It's a resturant/sports bar that can seat 200. They even have a shuttle that will take us to Celebration Tavern and the lake is right across the street (great for those quite romantic walks).
The musical venue doesn't sound like the most conducive to dancing, but I think we could persuade them to bring in a different band if we can fill the place. I'll get more details if we think it might be a good option. They are open 7am - 2am and for New Years Eve-not a private party, if anyone else wants to check it out.
How does that location work for everyone?

Anyone though of doin' a live webcam conference call? It would be great if all of these locations had large screen TV's to display the cam shots.
Do we have any techies in the group???
