I have been an atheist most of my life, after having been raised Catholic. I don't pretend to know "how it all began", but I am sure than "God did it" isn't a good explanation. Oh, it's a possibility, but not a very likely one. chuckle Based on the evidence, I the universe appears to be the result of natural processes extending back billions of years until what we refer to as the "Big Bang." Whether there is an explanation for that, I don't know - it may simply be a brute fact. But to arrive at such a brute fact and then say "God did it" is just silly, and unecessary. To take the brute simplicity of the conditions of the early universe and then solve their lack of explanation by proposing an omnipotent, omniscient, and highly personal "God" which is itself without explanation "multiplies entities unecessarily", as Occam put it.

Oh, humans could be the highest form of intelligence in the universe. Is it likely? Hard to say, given the difficulty in calculating the odds of life elsewhere in the universe. Life appears to have arisen on Earth almost as soon as it cooled down enough, so I find the argument that life arises relatively easily relatively convincing. Of course, the rise of intelligent life looks a little more unlikely - given how long it tooks, multicellular life looks pretty difficult, let alone intelligent. On top of that, you have to consider how common planets capable of supporting life are, but given recent discoveries it is starting to look like planets might not be too rare, so at least some of them are presumably going to life bearing. So, if I had to guess, I would say there is probably something out there smarter than us, but that the odds of us ever meeting it are vanishingly small, if not near-zero. chuckle

Wow, the discussion never ends does it? I am just glad I live in a country where circumcision is rapidly becoming extinct. There is no good argument for circumcision: the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS)'s neonatal circumcision policy since 1975 has been that there is no medical indication for male neonatal circumcision. As for arguments like looks... does it really matter what the flacid penis looks like? Cut or uncut, it looks pretty silly. And fully erect (which is when it really matters) there usually isn't that much difference. And the cleanliness argument is just silly. You are going mutilate millions of babies (killing a few of them in the process) because the occasional idiot doesn't wash? Wow, that is just incredibly poor thinking. Hell, you don't even need to wash to stay relatively clean - give the foreskin a pinch while urinating and it will be rinsed clean. Not very palatable obviously, but clean enough to avoid any build up. The foreskin isn't really any more of a "breeding ground" for bacteria any more than a mouth or a vagina, and almost no one suggests surgically altering those to dry them our and toughen them.

Oh, if either of you is insanely squeemish about occasional minor messes it would be necessary, but I don't know if anal sex is really worth it if that is the case. chuckle And it shouldn't hurt intensely, first time or not: with enough warm up, lube, and patience (i.e. never just plunging in), full penetration should be possible without anything more than minor discomfort. As for the bleeding, I have never encountered that despite having anal on a relatively regular basis, nor can I recall ever hearing much about it. If it was me, I would stop anal entirely and seek medical attention - apparently it could be an anal fissure.

Well, without physical intimacy a relationship is reduced to a close friendship, so I consider it pretty damned important. Of course, that doesn't say if intercourse is including clitoral stimulation or not, but still, relatively high numbers considering it isn't including those who climax less than "often." I am not aware of what the average early performance is, but mine was relatively good. Try treating masturbation as practice for sex, and rather than just trying to get off when doing it, learn to extend it and go to the edge of cumming without actually doing it, and so on. That might extend performance.

Even in relationships going on years I have kept using condoms along with the pill, even if it is taken religiously. I will stop using condoms when pregnancy wouldn't be a disaster, though not actually planned for, though I might feel differently if there was a latex allergy involved.
