what did Sutter say...that 'his legs couldn't keep' ? We'll see if these words come back and haunt him with another first round playoff dismissal...
how do you think that? the team is better without a aging winger thats been out of the game for 6 years, where does he fit in? he isnt a bottom 6 style player at all, and there isnt room on the top 6 for him. you need speed to win in this nhl not 41 year old slow players that didnt look that great in preseaon. its a great story but there is a time to hang up the skates great on sutter for letting theo have his chance to not leave the game the way he did.
i just dont get how you could think theo is the peice that would put them over he top, did you wacth any preseaon? do you know what b. sutter was brought in here? come playoff time his presence would be awsome in the locker room and im sure seeing a 41 year old man givng it his all blocking shots and working hard would have gave the boys some energy but not as much a young set of legs that is only going to get better and is looking a better fit for the team would.

its not so much kipper as the men who play in front of him, in the games we ot blown out in this year he played decent but cant stop everything. the team changed after the sharks game and smartend up.
the problem with compairing kipper to how well he is playing is you can only compair him to when he is playing his best. when kipper is hot he simply is unbeatable, you may put one or two behind him but gives the flames a chance to win even when hes being shelled on all game. on a off streak he still a top nhl goalie, just looks human.
that 6 million a season is for around 40 wins a year and solid playoffs, plus add in he is going to start 70+ times and 6 million a year isnt that bad of money vs some 50 start guys.

i would have loved to see that big mouth in the line up. avery is a pure idiot and should be banned from the nhl, nothing but a massive embassment on the sport......look with the playoffs last year, then he calls iggy boring, now he is acting like a jr high student thats mad he lost his girlfriend.
any flames fan and player would care if the flames had to kill off another 9 min pk if dion just charged avery throw off the gloves and started wailing away on the punk.....mind you i think the flames are the only team in the nhl yet to get the 2 min for instgating with a visor. thats why i said 9 min. lol
hell or dion could just keep laying him out clean hits all night long not one star is going to stick up for that clown.
if the stars just keep making avery pay everytime he opens his mouth they could make some money by sending him down to the ahl. should be to hard just hand him the mic 3 4 times a year. im sure he would learn or go bankrupt.

it's just tough having 7 top 6 forwards.
hahahahaha
look at the oilers points wise top 7 forwards
Hemsky 7G, Cogliano 6G, Horcoff 6G, Moreau 5G, Penner 5G, Brodziak4G, Nilsson 3G
wow 31 goals from 7 forwards
lets see how they rank vs other teams top 3 forwards
oilers-Hemsky 7G, Cogliano 6G, Horcoff 6G=19 goals
wild-Koivu8G, Brunette 6G Belanger 6G=20 goals
aves-Hejduk 9G,Smyth 7G, Wolski 4G=20 goals
kings-Frolov 8G, Brown 8G, O'Sullivan 7G=23 goals
preds-Arnott 12G, Erat 7G, Dumont 4G =23 goals
yotes-Doan 11G, Jokinen 7G, Porter 5G=23 goals
stars-Eriksson 11G, Modano 9G, Brunnstrom 6G=26 goals
nucks- D Sedin 11G, Wellwood 9G, Demitra 7G=27 goals
flames-Iggy 12G, Squid 9G, Langkow 6G=27 goals
jackets-Nash 12G,Brassard 8G, Juice 8G=28 goals
blues-Boyes 12G,Tkachuk 11G, McDonald 6G=29 goals
wings-hossa 13G , Datsyuk 8G, zett 11G=32 goals
hawks-Sharp 13G, Kane 12G, Versteeg 7G=32 goals
sharks-Setoguchi 12G, Clowe 11G, Marleau 11G= 34 goals
seems the oilers have the worst forwards in the west, so i dont see what your talking about...

^^^^^^no stars fans yet but your more then welcome to stay....have to many oilers fans, a few wings fans, leafs fans, nucks and me the flames fan. also i think some bandwagon pens fans from time to time.
anyways 6 in a row for the flames now, looks like kipper is back in 04 playoff form (almost). bert looks like the comeback player of year already.
so glad those cancers are gone and cammi and bert are here.

the earth is growing
Posted:
10/13/2008 4:35:39 PM
ok if the earth was half the size it is now,
why are we finding fossils?
really wouldnt they be buried more deep then they are now?
just how deep would its oceans have been? or where did earth get all this extra water that fills our deep oceans now?
well you may be able to show how some events could relate to the earth growing its kinda weird all of them cant. if i find a broken plate on the floor with no way of knowing how it really got there and broke i would have to start making a theroy up how this event happend.
now lets say you take this new theroy into the event.
the plate started out on the floor, however the plate started expanding causeing the plate to break apart.
ok now the other side
the plate started on the counter, the counter which is made of wood due to temputure and seasing the wood shifted causing the plate to slowly move to its current state. (would take a damn long time)
now the truth the cat knocked the plate on the ground, maybe nethier idea is even close to right.
once you start looking for your idea to be the right one you stop looking for the right idea. science must be looked at with open minds and taking on new ideas. it seems most people now only can think in black and white.
just beacuse a answer seems to fit doesnt mean its right.

first i wrote 29 when i ment 28 as the wings destoryed the pens in the fianls to win the cup. just because the pens play in div 2 of the nhl and played a real team doesnt mean they were better then the yotes, as they didnt and dont have to play a western team almost every single night.
it may have been the pens in the finals but they never came close to knocking off the wings. in the world of sports and life being there isnt doing, close isnt being in the building when the cup is being lifted high in the air by the team that just beat you. the pens never had the wings on the ropes, they came as close as the preds, as the aves and stars.
look at it this way when a boxer gets his tittle shot, gets knocked out in the first round was he close to winning the belt? no its not. its a stupid thing to say and if you treat life like that then your never going to be anything. like freakin yoda said "do or do not, there is no try"
look at the winners of the cup from 04, a 6th place beaten up injured calgary flames team "loses" to tampa in 7, oilers the 8th seed in the west take the canes a 3rd seed in the east to 7 games, the ducks eat alive the sens, the wings walk over the pens. if the west can make it to the finals with out running out of gas they win, if they are tired, injuired and a massive underdog it goes to 7.
when you have the low class of the east the high scoring no defence games its easy to look good. notice how most players when they move from east to west there numbers drop?
i can see though how you dont really know much about hockey though as your just eatting what bettmen is cooking up for you...hows your crosby stew for you? wasnt he just the best in the finals?
pens=most over rated sports team in all of sports right now

when were the pens even close last season? didnt look at any time they stood a chance against the wings. boys against men, outclassed, outshot and outplayed. pens came as close as 29 other teams in the nhl to winning the cup they failed end of story.

posting twice doenst make you more right.
being a real fan of the nfl or not doesnt matter, as fan has nothing to do with knowalge.
this is a hockey thread not some trash brand football thread.
can a qb thats in prison win the superbowl? what a joke of a leauge the nfl is....i would give more credit to ecw wreastling back in the 90's then the thugs and lowlives that make up the nfl.
maybe not a bad qb but a example of a qb playing bad in the sb and winning it would be Super Bowl XL . Roethlisberger he threw 9-for-21 for 123 yards. so really your looking at a horriable qb for that game.
pens downhill, lets see should we start with the wings showed everyone how easy it is to beat the pens. how the second the pens had to play a western style of game they couldnt do anything. the fact that the wings completly shut down your kid and russian showing them for the kids they are.
how about the fact is they lost alot of skill with no replacements comming in for those numbers, the fact that they have 18 milliong in 2 players that couldnt show up in the games where it mattered most.
but hey messing with ratherb is fun, i will admit that. hell this guy changes his name more then prince. island jokester, pp and now ratherb.

well old tickers, the pens play in div 2 where any team in the west last season would have walked away with 60 wins, so really the powerplay doesnt mater as the east doesnt matter. ( who plays in the east anyways?) i can only think of one player that could come out west and maybe make top 10 in scoring but didnt show up in the playoffs what so ever.
THE ONLY WAY A EAST COAST TEAM CAN BEAT A WESTERN TEAM IS THE WEST BEATS THE HELLOUT OF EACH OTHER AND RUNS OF OF GAS IN THE FINALS. case in point all finals excluding 06 in the last 5 years.
lets see oil have the same team besides some old washed up players this year and needed the shootout for what 15 extra points last season to finish tied for 9th. when all other teams in the west got better, sounds like battle for the basement to me.

^^^^yes 2 games into the season and they may be done. hahaha you show lots of faith in the pens. i guess you start with the wings destorying them in the finals and showing how crosby is a non factor and malkin can be shut down with little effort must have knocked a few of you off the wagon already and opened some of the rest of your eyes.
but dont worry they play in divison 2 (east) of the nhl so its not that hard to make playoffs.
really looking forward to this season its going to be a battle for the basement between the oilers and leaves.

Anti-Toxin Recipes
Posted:
9/3/2008 6:12:33 AM
if garlic was truly non toxic then explain how after eating it you smell of it. not just your breath but your skin and your sweat. this is not a property of a anti-toxin but that of a toxin.
from your sorce
Carmia Borek, Ph.D.
"Eating enough fresh garlic to achieve the doses of beneficial organosulfur compounds would require amounts considered both physically (gastrointestinal) and socially (bad breath) problematic." add in your whole body would smell of garlic, may cause heartburn, flatulence (gas), stomach problems, increased blood clotting time and allergic reactions.
for the effect your looking for, your looking at eating 4 fresh uncooked cloves a day.
so when you open your eyes let me know what you see
you will be amazed when you start to think for yourself

Star Wars VS. Star Trek

" Stargate is better than Star Wars. And atleast Star Trek tries to be somewhat realistic. There humans from earth in the 24th century"
so you know what happend A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
data-c3po, r2d2 hell or better yet emm general grievous
kirk-han solo or lando
spock-pick any jedi padwan before the age of 12 and might be equal macth
mccoy-yeah ok dont see what was so good so how about freakin medical droids instead of needing a human for a dr.
come on the borg are really a joke compaired to a jedi or sith, 1 mind trick and they are all done. and fyi humans are very easy to mind trick. a borg cube could not do anything against ethier death star borg do not have anything that would lay a dent in the death star, remember size of a freakin moon. simple death star destroys cube in one shot. plus not to forget a death star has 1000's of tie fighters on boared also. dont forget your not just going to take on the death star but all the empire so yeah not even close.
star trek all good and fun, but compair story lines or weapons and its not even close star wars wins, your talking about 10 000 years of jedi training and a whole new galaxy of power vs what could be in 400 years.

how many playoff series has yoru goalie won? best on the planet a rookie cam ward won 3 more rounds then your hero.
you do relize the amount of players that have turned down contracts to play for the nucks.
top 5 defence in what the northwest? nucks have decent defence really but add in injuires that they always face do to lack of training staff and lack of players that can play 82 games and they drop alot.
cap space means nothing if your not adding in the rigth players to play under your system

so is that a oxymoron or you just a moron? tsn reporting top secert stuff eh?
maybe the wings could use the leaves and calgarys fan base so they could sell out more then just in the finals. but hey maybe the wings could move to a real market and sell out some games to make some cash.
on ice one of the best products in sports, fan base right up there with womens basketball.
i thought the flames were going in the same direction as the wings thats 1 final 3 chokes and now we are going to go on a run, pattern seems pretty close to the wings although only 1 of those 3 first round defeats we were the favs to win.

bert adds a strong powerforward that can help on the powerplay, even if thats just standing infrount of the goalie.
selfish players dont work out to drop weight, wouldnt sign to play for keenan.
yeah the wings sure whipped on us in 04 when we shut you out games 5 and 6. you must be getting old as your memory seems to be failing you.
you dont become a fan kaos. its in your blood, its that pride and passion for the city i was born, and the game i love. ive never been to detroit, ive never lived there. never tasted the culture. i do what the city wide feeling, passion, power, and what its like to truly be part of something bigger then a game though. 2004 and the mile was nothing short of magic, a special time of any flames fans life that will never be forgotten and will never be the same. i pity other fans, even fans of teams with more cups they will never feel that.

the moore incident is so boring now, come on give it a rest.
think what you want but at 1.9 mill 10 goals and 20 assists is still a good deal.
draper gets paid more and yet had only 9 goals and 8 helpers
you look at any 1.9 million players and they all sit around that much, i dont get your point? ohh loo at the flames they are looking at worst of getting value of the contract?
bert is 33 years old, lighter in better shape then he has ever been in his career. bert is exicted about playing here, iggy is happy to have bert here. like him or not the flames just added to there team big in cammi and bert for tanguay and juice going out.
conroy takes a massive home town discount
langkow takes a discount
reggie is on one of the best contracts in the nhl (excluding entry leval deals lol)
iggy and dion both on discount contracts
funny how the players dont know as much as kaos though, he seems to think he is more hockey smart then guys that do it for a job. people are coming to calgary, staying there becouse they want to play here and they want to win here. they belive in sutter, keenan and the captain.
but hey kaos i guess thats why your paid so high to write about hockey......or the inside info you have...

and thats why the 1 year 1.9 mill contract. its a prove what you can still do kind of deal.
he is lighter then he was last season. sutter isnt asking him to score 40 more like 20 and get 40 points.
im more exicted about cammi coming in and tangs and juice leaving then anything.
flames were lacking a player thats good in frount of the net, bert is pretty damn good. better putting him in frount then using dion for that. rather have dion on the point.

you really dont know much about age and how numbers work do you kaos? the flames are younger then last season. well i guess not true in a sense yes iggy, and the boys are all a year older as are all nhl teams, but as a whole they are younger.
awsome deal for the flames even if bert doesnt do much. lets see
tanguay or cammie and bert....hummm no brainer
stick to wacthing your old trapping team kaos and leave it at that.
based on your flames are a bad playoff team the most teams in the nhl are what?just one of those people that talks when they should listen and learn.
funny how 1 cup and all of a sudden those 1st and 2nd round knockout by massive underdogs didnt happen.
last season is over get with the now, no team has proven anything yet. we will see come playoff time who is a good playoff team or not.

ok alot of what we disagree with is personal choice, but cup should not be a factor? your joking? cups should be a massive factor, points in the reg season mean nothing, being a champion means evenrything.
2 or more cups should be in the hall no matter what. alot of chumps in there already, why shame other players by not putting them in when the standard was set low before? the hall isnt off ice, its a on ice thing, i hate gilmour as much as all flames fans but the guy should and will be there.
how many cups does one win? enless you have one cant talk any trash about a guy that has been there. i dont care about off ice hockey is a on ice sport.
if the "great one" didnt play with a stacked oilers team would not have put up the numbers he did, can we take him out of the hall? no messier no great one.

ive said it during the season kaos that i wished the flames would take on more of the wings sucess. i also said during that losing streak it could be the best thing to happen to the wings.
its not blind obedience last season we should have had taratukin or what ever his name is but he bolted to russia. geo went there also. thats 2 younger rookie contracts we could have had on our team .
its takes awhile to build a elite team, and from what i see and what i hear the flames are on that track.
the wings are at the peak looking down, its easy to look at other clubs and laugh. however the flames are getting halfway up the mountain and every time they get knocked down they are fixing a problem.
06-no scoring
07-bad away- but goal scoring wasnt a problem, tied for 4th in the nhl
08-balanced team, kipper was not kipper
09-some kids get some playing time, flames have lots more scouts in sweeden,
if the flames an luck out and have 3 kids ready to play a full season, i say luck cause we put to much pressure on players to be nhl ready by 20 now. it takes a massive load off singing ufa's.
the entry draft is where the next season starts, from the sounds of things the flames have a move in play.
with the exact same squad from last year the flames and all the northwest can only do better. that 8 times a year was bull, the northwest had to murder each other at the end of the season, take only 6 games and more games against div 2 (east) and you may have seen all 5 or maybe 4 teams from the northwest in the playoffs.
9 days till the entry draft

im not knocking the damn wings. ive said it before and say it again, they are the only elite team in the nhl. they are what every single team has been trying to do in the reg season.
the flames even sent staff during the reg season to wacth and see what made the ice ice product work so well. like you said the wings have been drafting well for a long time now. the flames had horriable draft picks in the 90's. sutter had to get rid of the farm club, and rebuild everything from the gound up. so instead of being able to take players that have higher risk higher reward he went with guys that would be able to play 3rd and 4th line roles but a better chance of playing in the nhl.
the flames have increased the scouting in sweeden, are in a spot now that some of the kids are ready to come up to the nhl.
other then the 04 squad the flames are doing great when compaired to late 90's-2003.
im saying i dont think the wings will win the cup, i think they will finish 1st overall again, but calling a repeat already is just crazy. i was just correcting you on misspelling stanley and using it to say the wings will not win the cup. from now on i will talk slower just for you.
if you have any questions about flames manegment why dont you e-mail ken king yourself. kking@calgaryflames.com a warning though if you ever meet him in person his handshake will almost break your hand. great guy, great with fans, you can see him around the saddledome all the time during flames games.
i like what i hear from him going forward, if you stopped and listened you might see something more then what you want to see kaos.

may they will win that satnley cup next season but stanley isnt going to go back to motor city.
not really sure what that means...
it means you said the wings were going to win the satnley cup next season i agreed. but the stanley cuo wont be a trophy they win.
i know the cup has been damaged pretty much every year lighten up man, smoke some green or get some, maybe have a few beers. relax.
funny how calgary is 4th in nhl on ticket sales and the wings are 10th. flames over sellout each game the wings well there were empty seats during the playoffs.
Not sure what that means either. Osgood will be penciled in for 50 games next season. Jimmy Howard will back him up and if Howard does not fill the 2 hole, Holland (Best GM in Hockey) will pick up a veteren.
if your not sure what i was asking then how did you answer my question?
with another playoff birth mr sutter is proving to be one of the best gms in the nhl. the northwest is the best divison in all of sports.
you dont get it i said at least 6 if Z took 6 then thats about a mill discout for the wings. your also not thinking of all the other players that are going to get rasies or a new goalie. next year they are fine, but after that if they want the core its going to start costing them some money, but they do have alot of great rookies so shouldnt be a problem, just they may have to face what alot of other teams had to.
it really doesnt make sense in a salary cap world that the amount spent on scouting isnt capped.

sutter is always ranked high in any rankings of management in the nhl. the flames dont have the dollars to throw at scouting like the wings do. in fact the wings spend more on there european scouting then most teams spend on all there scouting.
it all boils down to the wings have the abilty to sit and wait on players.
ducks had the core return last season didnt do them much good. the game changes from year to year. no way the wings get such a easy walk through the playoffs again. a preds team that squeked in, a aves team that was full of injuries. a tired stars team, a weak pens teams.
just stay in your dream world buddy. after next season z is going to be a 6 million dollar player at least, plus lidstrom will still have one season left on his contract so enless he takes less the wings may find themsleves in the same place as the rest of the nhl.
may they will win that satnley cup next season but stanley isnt going to go back to motor city. btw great job on damaging the cup wings how the hell do you dent the holy grail.
so osgood is your starting goalie next season? or who is going to play between the pipes?

funny how phaneuf is 6th for defencemen in points and tied for 2nd in scoing in the whole playoffs.
iggy had 9 points in 7 games.
reggie was soild.
kipper played bad but he had a offseason.
your just blind, not smart or being a complete fool to try and start a flame war.

yeah thats the point kaos ive said it all along. the core got them into the playoffs the last 3 years. it sthe lack of support players that is holding the flames back.
3 of 4 of this core was the same that made the finals 4 years ago. add in phaneuf and its only better.
no the wings won in double ot in game 6 not a sweep, if moss hadnt missed on a clear cut goal it was going to 7.
if calgary is a bubble team then every single team in the west excluding the wings is a bubble team and even worse at the playoffs. name a team in the northwest that has been to the playoffs the last 3 years........got 1? yeah thats the flames. if the flames or any northwest team traded divisons with the wings they would ethier be 1st or 2nd in the west.
with the new scheduale that you seem to not remember all nothwest teams could make playoffs next season.
funny how the flames are a bubble team but were close to winning the northwest.
ask the sharks if the flames are a bad playoff team, or ask dallas how nice it was playing a beaten up team. the flames stopped the hottist team in the nhl the cup favorite took them to 7, and they looked tired in the next round.

well geo is coming back so there is a faster d man already.
conroy will be a a discount price, so thats a top 9 forward. a few kids from the fam should be ready, plus in what 11 days at the draft id bet someone is getting moved. the flames are fine with cap space the wings had over 20 million on the back end last season.
wing and preds didnt have to play any team like calgary, so how do you know? the sharks were said to be faster and bigger didnt play out like that at all. the only way the wings wouldnt have won the cup is if they had to play to hard hitting series in a row. if you play smart speed is a non issue.
according to lots of people there was no way we could sign the core thats done. just need the support cast.

"Smack, who this year would have won this hypothetical series matchup...
Pens vs Flames?"
depends on which team showed up for the flames. but really if your asking that based on the flames beating the sharks, the 2 more tough fought series where ethier cujo gets the start or kpper is playing at his tops. so flames beat the pens down in 7, pens didnt play a team that could bang the body as hard as the flames could. the speed would play a big factor in games 1 and 2 but working game 3 home crowd and the hits pens start to slow.
look at how the pens couldnt handle the wings in the hitting, flames are a much harder hitting team. flames sharks and ducks would have hit the pens out of the playoffs. preds could have given them a run for there money.
its all kinda stupid though. kipper sucked we lost to a sharks team that we outplayed, out hit and stopped. no team has made the finals after having to go through the flames in the last 3 years. really showed witht the sharks this season, hardist team to play against. words from lots of nhlers not me.
i dont get how people are saying the pens were a good series against the wings this season but the flames were blown out last when it was the same thing other then the flames had the wings pushed back in game 6.
well enjoy the cup kaos 12 more days til the next season starts for me. entry draft so so soon cant wait.

agreed with korrisve othe rthen still to much for a guess on the score.
first round
2 points for the win
1 for the score
10 for the series
20 for correct amout of game
second round
4 points for a win
2 for the score
20 for the series
40 for the games
conference fianls
8 for the win
4 for the score
50 for the sereis
100 for the correct amout of games
finals
50 for a win
25 for the score
100 for the series
300 for the right amout of games or i like before the series starts can bet up to a set amount of points, say 200 or none. just a idea no all in crazy stuff like i pulled lol. and alot more skill in picking the right team and games.
i really dont want the single games or the score to play such a massive roll. i like the idea of the series winner being the highist amout you could get. and the games them selves being higher then a bonus if the score is right.

"Well ... reffing aside, I think this has been a great final"
your kidding right? the pens look horriable out there, with out maf this thing is over in 4 quick games. one of the most boring finals in all of hockey. even in sweeps the other teams can control the pace of the game more then 5 min a game.
the preds looked better then the pens against the wings. game 6 or not this thing has been over from game 1, the only thing thats going to stop the wings is the wings not wanting this.

stripes in the nhl are the worst stripes in all of sports, everyone knows that. well maybe 2nd worst those clowns in the iihf are way worse. at least in the old nhl you could know what would be a call ethier make a new rulebook or go back to the old system.
wacth any flames or even nucks game lunongo or kipper get run over way worse all game and no call is ever made, next thing your going to see is the blue paint rule again. till a team is knocked out of the playoffs due to a skate in the crease.
its like that with everything in the nhl, based on the player, and the ref. simon 2 hand slashes he gets 5 game or whatever crosby does it to a guys knee he walks away.
i think its stupid and a joke and i wacth over 200 games a year, what do you think the average joe usa man thinks? hockey is in my blood but it gets to the point where i have to turn it off.

Can't speak french?

been all across our great land of canada, drank with locals in ever single province. never been to france yet, but im not leaving north america till i see my hockey team play in all 30 cities, 15 down 15 to go.
not being to france doesnt mean i havnt been with any real french people. which they pointed the fact of how dumb the quebec people sounded and made fun of them all the time.
it seems to me your the one that doenst know much of our great land. how many provinces have a french populataion? 2 quebec and new brunswick. in alberta, bc, sask, and manitoba you would be lucky to find a hand full. but i guess a white province like new brunswick doesnt know much about other cultures.

Game 6

if the wings had a decent goalie the series would be over, hell i could have stopped that game tieing goal in game 5. the pens are doing way better then i thought they would, playing there very best hockey of all year against the wings. the pens have taken there game to the next leval maybe even good enough that they could have beaten say a preds team, or the hurt aves in a 7 game series.
not the pens i sold short they are weak i should say maf is really good, without maf theis would have been over in 4. east is div 2 of the nhl.
