I think HOOP has the correct answer on this one. If ever someone would make a good ad for pro-abortion, it would be Barbara Bush.

'I too find it an interseting turn of events. Now, if we can just get Bush, Cheney and their little gang tried for murder ". . . yeah, what is it they are responsible for now, 80,000 Iraq people, plus 4,000 American troops, plus 5 million homeless immigrants Bush can chalk up to his little campaign of "I am far more important and powerful than you are." Aren't soldiers trained to kill, and the more the merrier?

Do you ever get use to being single?
Posted:
8/24/2008 3:10:30 PM
I still believe in the old saying, "I'd rather be alone and miserable, than be married and wish I were dead." After 25 years of marriage, I would never trade living alone for being married. Single means 100% independence to do what you want, go where you want, and eat what you want--being in an unhappy marriage is "cheating" yourself out of a life that should be lived in the pleasure of being alone. Out of the 50% of marriages that fail, I wonder how many of the 50% that remain married wish they weren't?

Saint Anger
Posted:
8/24/2008 12:40:49 PM
I'm sitting here at the library, angry as hell at the librarian. Went to use the computer, and it stated I had to get my card renewed. Went to get it renewed, and the librarian told me I needed a current utility bill showing my local address. I drove 20 miles to go get a utility bill, came back, and told her it would have been a lot easier if she just would have asked for my checkbook, which had my current address. She stated, "People don't carry checkbooks anymore, and you should have known a checkbook substitutes for a utility bill." Whew, I'm still rattled from this rudeness, and "I am right, you are wrong attitude she carries." Do people still carry checkbooks?
Having raised four children from an almost-deadbeat dad, I found that whenever I feel rattled about something, this is perfect timing just to take all the mad energy because someone has acted like a "lemon," and turn it into "lemonade" by going out and walking or running about five miles. Currently, I feel as if I could run about five miles, but this is Las Vegas, and it's still 110 degrees outside.
I'll be glad when there's a "people lemon" web site where you can just list the name and location of lemons, and they are the people that you will find in the next unemployment line.

Weed Addiction

I think there must be thousands of girls out there that DON'T have to smoke pot--and you sound like a heck of a nice guy, so seems to me like a non-pot-smoker is more deserving of your affection and time--kind of like when my hubby came home from Vietnam and kicked his small son across the room--thought I, there must be thousands of guys that would step in and take his place, but it never happened.
Just talking to people that smoke pot and people that don't--it's a lot more enjoyable talking to someone whose brain isn't mush.

"dude you have been on this site since 2005? what is your problem?"
I think the "problem" is being very selective--and in my estimation, that's a good thing. It's when you're on here and don't spend any time looking around, then you'e got a problem. A man that loves God and is horny? That, to me, wouldn't present a problem either.

Yeah, but if McCain wins, America should switch to an Octoberfest lasting 12 months a year, and instead of earning an eduction, have all children shoot hoops, then the dimentia that McCain rules with, would be equality in action.

Now 6 years later ... List of Canadians who died on 911 at the WTC and on planes hijacked
Posted:

"May justice and reason prevail."
Unfortunately, justice did not prevail. In our President's "get tough" attitude to handle this situation, 4,124 American troops have died along with 300 other troops, and then 86,000 - 94,000 Iraq people have been killed.
If only someone with your sensitivity and caring for each person as an individual were running this country, what a difference that would make, and how noble of you to take the time to note each person in Canada who died.

So glad time and patience worked for you!! That means you find the lady of your dreams, right?
I have found that by thinking what I really wanted in a man, I can joyfully do for myself, I now buy fresh flowers, candy, my finances aren't at the same level as they were when married, but I don't ever say mean things to myself as I used to have done; nor do I have to compromise when I want to go to a certain place.
Sure it's great to find a partner that is supportive, kind and one to live with 24/7, but if one doesn't exist, life is quite good as a loner.
Hope you and your partner find double the strength and fun working together.

Canada deports U.S. deserter who opposes Iraq War
Posted:
7/17/2008 5:26:02 PM
I still can't believe most guys sign up for the armed services knowingly because you get to kill or be killed in Iraq. I think that nobody had any idea what bad leadership was really capable of until 4 or 5 years ago when Cheney or Bush started ruling the world.
It's sad to hear that Canada deported an objector--but I wonder what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot? Hopefully the future of America holds a good leader, that would willingly take in war objectors to an illegitimate war, if Canada gets involved in one--but we don't even want people from Mexico. Whew, what is common sense? Does anybody at all consider equality of people to be a factor? Is it okay to kill people just because they live within the boundary of Iraq?
I still hold onto the words of Nelson Mandella - "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world."

Bush Claims Executive Privilege (AGAIN) On CIA Leak
Posted:

I'll second the hanging suggestion--but is he worth the outlay in funds for the rope? In his biography it states that he used to play "leather" in college. He would throw the football up, and call the new kid's name, and he and his friends would turn around and beat up the new kid in school. I think he and his sidekick have substituted the people of America for the new kid, and is trying his best to show who's the top dog of America--only problem, all it does is show what an idiot he is, and why hasn't anybody beat the crap out of him yet?

I'm with you - I was married 25 years. Strange, the happiest day of my life was the day I got married - 2nd happiest day was the day I divorced him. I have yet to find a man that didn't mistreat me, unless, of course, I changed who I was to try to please him. I don't think it's a throwaway society--I believe it's getting to be a society where equality is becoming more real.

Child support as a weapon? Would you date a girl with drama like this?
Posted:
7/13/2008 12:43:18 PM
My ex is 66 and still enjoys the drama of being a deadbeat who still helps out his children by buying his children's affections via big bucks--I will just be glad for the day when his children figure out who it was that was there for them for 16 years while they were growing up, but that hasn't happened yet.
Mohamad Yunus wrote a book on Poverty, and he has helped millions of women in Bengladesh by loaning them money to start their own businesses, because men don't seem to have the maturity of realizing that being "head of household" means handing the money to the family for a better life, whereby it's a woman's instinct.
If a man doesn't pay child support, that's abuse--it would sure be tempting not to allow the children time with the abusive parent, quite understandable--but yeah, using children as pawns is not what children are for, either.

Krazy Daze Politically Insensitive
Posted:
7/13/2008 11:06:01 AM
Thanks, I never thought about it, but 95% of people that signed my yearbook said I was crazy, and it always seemed a good thing, as it has always been my desire to try and do things normal people just wouldn't do, wear things most people wouldn't wear. My mother suffered from mental illness, but it was a mean type of illness, and she hated most people, me in particular. She put my sister in a mental health clinic--so maybe Crazy Daze could stand to symbolize the fact that no longer are people being put in straight jackets and taken away?
In my opinion, the fact that someone is a little different than other people isn't something that should EVER be construed as crazy, unless they are truly abusive or hurting people, and then--I guess the answer is I don't know, but Crazy Daze could be a good or bad thing, depending on the interpretation by the reader?

Syria ready to cut ties to Iran for USA Aid - Peace in the making?
Posted:
7/6/2008 3:29:46 PM
All this sounds fine, except our president needs to take care of matters at home; i.e. homes in foreclosure, New Orleans never being fully restored; 17,000,000 children who are victims of deadbeat parents and thereby orphaned due to mom leaving home and finding work for survival. Seems to me when everyone here has food and shelter, then and only then should be feel good about helping out Syria.
I think I'm not the only American citizen that still wonders why we are supporting the biggest conflict of interest in history--the oil profits of Bush/Cheney via the lives of thousands of troops and Iraq people.

What to send to Service Personnel in Iraq
Posted:

Great question - Have been to two groups that were packaging and sending stuff to the troops, and they mainly consisted of socks, magazines, and beef jerky or nuts. I have a son going there too, and if you have any ideas of how to maintain more sanity would be appreciated, as I have a real problem with it. Nothing cooked was asked for, as I remember.

Posted:

Interesting - I think most people are tired of one person bashing another; wonder how long it will take before the media will realize that when they bash someone or create this bad versus good ideaology, it's a waste of time. For me, I simply judge on whether one is making this world a better place or not--I think Obama is doing a good job of forgiveness with the Clintons and Bush hasn't faced up to the fact that Iraq was based on deception and lies - doesn't NBC just follow the same course as all media is going--create drama for the sake of sales??

Well, didn't the President, Clinton, say that blow jobs were "not having sex with that woman," and then Hillary gave a speach on TV trying to relate to all Americans that Bill keeps all his commitments, therefore, this was just a case of two people massaging themselves, no points off for that, right?

the joys of being single

After an abusive mom, living for 25 years with abusive husbands, every night I close my door, I think God I'm the only one on the inside of the house.
I still believe in the old saying, "I'd rather be miserable and single, than married and wish I were dead."
I also have a firm belief that if God had wanted us to have a partner 24/7, he/she would have attached one to the right or left hip.

Hi - I spent $600 on a crystal eagle just so I could stop hating my ex husband for leaving me with 4 kids to raise--thinking it would magically take away the hatred and bitterness--didn't do a thing except make me $600 poorer. I've finally learned that I will never again do something for someone else that I wouldn't do it for myself first. I would keep the $125, as he would probably not give that to you, and--is it already a plane ticket? Then do it for yourself first, and maybe you'll meet someone who is over their ex.
Depending on someone else for your own happiness is sure a waste of time--as you probably know by now. best wishes - at least you sure got a long period of enjoyment out of this guy.

Poll: Republican support, enthusiasm down

You say 53% are for Obama and 43% are for McCain right now? Where does McCain get all these people to root for him? I mean he's 72 and Obama is 46--why would anybody want someone in there that wants us to stay in Iraq for 100 years? Where are the men that don't like another man that mooches off his rich wife for support? Why didn't some of the 1,176 pages or so that McCain got printed about his current medical condition, whereas not one page was about his mental condition?
Having 45 years experience in the work force, Obama seems like a pleasant man that isn't all about attacking others, but always standing up for what he thinks is right. And he does have an agenda of change, which is sure needed here in the U.S.
Being from Canada yourself, sir, thanks for all the sensitivity about what's going on down here. Interesting.

I sat at the debate and watched Hillary sit there like a vulture just waiting for Obama or the other candidates that were there running to say the wrong thing. Now, I think there are 150,000,000 women in the U.S. who would be a better running mate for Obama--isn't it amazing how one minute politicians act like they can't stand the people they're running against, and then the next month, they are asking all people to come together and support Obama. Hillary does not know how to "get along with people." She, along with Bush, think they are mightier than the Supreme Court (he's going to try to get new legislation enacted so the Supreme Court's opinion on Guatanamo is vetoed). I've worked for Supervisors like she, what a pain to be with. It must be quite hard to be like Hillary and know you're always right, but the rest of the country just doesn't get it.

Great Day in the History of Freedom.

In the movie "Iraq for Sale," it showed detainees were actually cab drivers and pizza delivery people from Iraq, who helped stage this show of patriotism by our President wanting to kill all the bad guys--hence, the bad guys were actually just ordinary people. Yes, what great decisions were made by our Supreme Court, but then Bush has decided he may have to create some legislation to make sure that these people do not get freed upon their release, because no telling what these wild and crazy people from Guatanamo are capable of--oh, the humanity.
Yeah, I think it was a great day in the history of freedom, but am still looking forward to a greater day when we have a new President, and a 46 year old one as opposed to a 72 year old guy.

This might be based on propoganda, but I've heard from very reliable sources that we are going to create a chain of dune buggy parks (there are currently 4 milliion displaced people over there the last I heard.)
