Do you want to be treated like a woman or an equal?
Posted:

There seems first off, in the question itself, to be the idea that these two things are exclusive. To me that is absurd.
I’m a woman, I not only want to be treated as such in my intimate relationships. I also expect to be treated as an equal.
I think when it comes to our “relationships” the question of equality is based much more on respect and value rather than on the persons sex. Equality or the lack there of is found in the relationship itself.
However, I think our perception of the other sex is usually rooted in our cultural values. I think it would be safe to say that the roots of all societies are either matriarchal or patriarchal. Is it then possible that what we have here, is two patriarchal societies, engaging in discussion about the issue of equality of women?
Just one of my rambling thoughts...........

Science and Religion

Personally I don't see them as exclusive at all. I think they compliment one another if an open mind is kept. I think it would behoove everyone to read the book "Dancing with the Wu Li Masters" (as posted by another writer) with an open mind .
I think if religion(s) would consider science more and science consider religion(s) more, we would become enlightened much faster, then the evolutionary cycle we are currently on ( oops did I say that).
Would it be safe to say that the universe is made up of energy....sound waves, light waves etc..? Would it be safe to say that energy never cease to exist it just changes form? Would it then be safe to say that the Bible in an incomplete work at this time? Still in motion evolving? We have yet to see the "return" Jews believe that the Christ has yet to come, Would it be safe to say the same of Hinduism, buddism? etc...Maybe if we can consider the whole picture and not get "stuck " one one idea we could come to see some form of truth.
If you find the above to be a simple truth, then I would ask......what is our role and responsibility to this evolution as a whole and as individuals?

Single (never married at all) men over 45
Posted:

Is this directed only at men?
I'm 45 and have never married.........When I have been asked..............the question I always ask myself is........
Can I honestly say this person inspires me to grow, and would continue to inspire me for the rest of my life, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally, do we resolve conflict easily? After a hecktic day does them putting their arms around me or seeing their smile, disolve away the pressures of the day? Do I inspire the same in them? For me, if the answer to any of these are no....the my answer to the proposal must also be no.......
There is nothing wrong with being single..........or HAPPILY Married..........but Happily is the key word.........

She said she's in love with me. Oh, Christ. What now?

Oh Dorian, You don't seem to like the answers you are getting. Reality check time. Make a decision! You either want a relationship ( commitment type) or you don't. Get off the fence and be honest with yourself first and foremost, so you can be honest with those around you. As I said in my last post being in love and loving someone are not the same thing. Actually loving someone involves, giving...........Which lets face it.......Leos will give all day long........as long as they don't have to sacrafice a damn thing.........Actually loving someone means you sometimes have to give up what you WANT for what they NEED. You are beginning to sound to me like maybe you want your cake and to eat it too. "I don't know if I'm in love with her yet" "I also didn't say I wasn't in love with her". If you don't put a lot of credit in being in love..........then really it doesn't matter if you are in love with her or not. Maybe you should tell her you dont put a lot of credit in being in love and see what decision she makes........you might be surprised and not have a decision to make at all, she might just make it for you!

This is what I pick up from what you wrote. First off I would be careful not to assume that the "country girl " will be chewed up in the city. Counrty people often know a lot more then city people think they do. She may adjust just fine, assuming she would be willing to give up her life style. Secondly, being "in love" and loving someone are two different things IMHO. It appears that you are interested in seeing who these other women you will be meeting are. (the Leo factor) However, it sounds like there is some type of commitment between the two of you (spoken or unspoken) . I think you need to just come out and tell her, that you are interested in her but that you are not ready to make a full commitment. I think honesty is always the best policy.

Let it go..........if you have explained yourself and that was not good enough, not good enough will become more and more often.

Why is a man's career important to women?
Posted:
9/16/2006 6:48:29 PM
Kedrell, I ask that question when I want to know more about someone. Most of us spend almost a 1/3 of our time working. I want to know if they enjoy their job. Why they do that type of work etc...for me it has nothing to do with money. I work for my money and I pay my own bills. I work in a field that I love, and by knowing what I do and why I do it, you would learn more about me. I think there are women who are interested in the amount of money a man makes. But I think there are more that are just interested in what he does.
