Posted: 11/12/2009 5:34:08 AM
Hello POFers-

The legion has ample room to sit and visit -and two bar areas to enjoy and a outside smoking area for your convience - and plenty of dance room on the floor_I have never seen it filled up - but would love to- any takers?

The dance floor is one of the best I've ever danced across anywhwere in ga-

As for those that need reminders - get a post it sticker put them on you door as you exit your house -- in your car and on anything that will remind you of the dance its time etc - enough said-

Looking forward to seeing everyone and dancing the nite away and making new friends!!! to dance

Hey P_O_F er's

This dance is exceptional -a well run dance - clean enviorment and atmosphere-
a chance to mix and mingle - meet and greet both the ladies and the gentleman-

The music is a mixture of all kinds from twist to some of the modernsteps- including the shuffle - to slow dancing to what ever you make of it- COME ENJOY!!

You can make some great friends at these events - and might find your mate in the fish pond--- aka - as Plenty of Fish-- I need a lady dance partner??? COME ENJOY!!!

would you date a guy who doesn't believe in education-content with his job
Posted: 10/24/2009 1:05:22 PM
Hey
Personally I think a education is good if and when a educated person can be employed in the area of studies of interest - even if its a techinical degree or a PHD -

Many people aren't book worms to pursue a formal education- yet make good money in a technical trade field - many are self taught-
Although I believe in some form of education I also feel "ON THE JOB" be it formal or self training with experiences bring forth the best in a person if they willing to wait and apply and give time to their field of interest!!
Examples are- a plumber -electrician - and other techinical fields.

I have seen many -many person both male and female over educated - under employed outside of their desired fields of study -- just to have a JOB!

I have experienced the following-
A--- Associate degree opens the door with back bone work
BS -Degree opens the door with less backbone work
MS- degree offers you a chance of working with your brain
PHD/MD - degrees are specialized fields degree- that offers one knowledge to preform needed services --

In conclusion a person that gives a honest days work regardless of the degree of education - that pays one bills is to be admired and respected!!
Sometimes education is a trade off - !!
Like the Plumber needs the DR services --and vice versa -both are knowlegeable in their own field- each needs each other-??----Who is the best here??

IT's THE PERSON THAT COUNTS--- FROM HIS OR HER HEART!!

Holding on to memories from past relationships!
Posted: 10/13/2009 12:39:36 PM
Hello

How Ironic that a post come up like this-

YES its good to keep memories of past relationship-!! If they are good thoughts they can make one remember the good times of the past wheither in a relationship or marriage-

Just a few months ago I renewed friendships with my first jr college sweetheart -of
35 years ago - she and I hadn't seen each other but once in those yrs-as we both had taken separate paths of life and married and later each divorced and were single again-

I reminded her of some keep sakes I held in good memory for all those yrs - when we meet after all that time I presented them to her as a token of a long lost love- - what a peaceful reunion we had as we reminised old times and plan to see each other again soon as our schedules permit --

You never know what in store as one the world can turn about 360 degrees and bring back memories of the past to be enjoyed in the future!!!

Child support...
Posted: 9/6/2009 6:31:55 PM
Hello-OP

I have read many of the view points of your situation-

GO DIRECTLY to the lawyers - and follow legal advice- settle in court with a judges review and signiture- enough said!!

By having court order paper work then you can always have a leg to stand on to enforce any child support income -in case something changes- and unexpectically it will!!

The percentage is preset for each child by the area you live in - providence or state or any localityof residence-

The good points to add is dental and life insurance and possibly college fund - along with 1/2 child care fee if needed - but a good lawyer will guide you -

I personally have been paying one third of my gross income for the past 12 years and only have a few months to finish my finicial responsibilities to my youngest son -!!!

Its only fair that a man step up and take his due responsibilities for a child with or w/o a married partner-!! JMHO

THE BEST OF LUCK TO YOU____

The serious member status isn't going to help any at all- if people connect they connect openly - w/o being marked serious - unless it a gimick to gain some money for the owner of P_O_F -?

I would like to see a way to delete someone off your favotrites list w/o having to scroll down each time delete and go back to the top to start over each time - it get monotionious at times to repeat the functtion over and over-

Maybe a side checkbox to delete several at a time -that never respones after awhile It would be handy!!

Again this is a good site just need to be twicked- for improvement for the members

Hello-

Thanks for the prayers -I do believe prayer chains work-and having good freinds also-

As of today MyEX./ boys mother coma state was reversed and the ventilator for breathing was removed after the DRS weaned her from it over the last three days- SHE is breathing on her own and communicated with the boys- even asked the oldest why he was home from army bootcamp- She is getting better- has a few more days in hospital and a long road to- to normal recovery.

Thanks friends for the prayers - life isn't for certain - we have been blessed by "GODS" grace and guidance~~

cover ups-
Yes I've been there done that also- been sucker into meeting a false picture and it turned out to be a cover up - of a picture yrs ago - what a bummer-

I recently drove out of my way to visit a lady who picture was inviting - we talk for a few chats on the net - a few chats on the phone calls - voice was appealing- we seem to hit it off on all levels of interest etc-

Upon arrival I missed seeing the resemblance of the lady at the resturant- and finally I was approacted by her - very diffrent from the picture - more aged- stouter- and seeminly less educated and unemployed at the moment- ( never mentioned in the prior conversations)- man did i feel like a SUCKER with a "S" stamped on my forehead-

It was a short lived coffee break - cordial excuse to leave in a gentleman way
I broke and ran as soon as possible- the coffee break was cheap learned lesson-

Moral of the story - wonder what else she fabricated or would have in the future-

Try and research your prospective dates more if possible - I have learned to point blank ask if pictures are current- and resemble your present level of life !!!!!

I quess we all get suckered sometimes - it all in the fishing???

If you get out of line - I'll ticket you for improper dancing - over indulging- eating to much and just being rowdy - punishments includes water basshing- water gun fights - sleepless nights and other unknown punishments - dang the sheriff isn't that hard -all the above are allowed- can he ticket himself?

Yes ladies ---we will dance- you know who you are-

I'll bring my stove (again ) for back ups- remember ??
but need to collect my lost accessories from the past camping trip-
I might volunteer to cook some of the food- with help?
Will bring breakfast foods or any food needed?

Dirty Dating
Posted: 5/25/2009 12:14:53 PM
Hey DUDE

It happens to the best of us- I try not to do coffee date -drive by - they are to
impersonal- I prefer at least an hour or two myself- if possible-

the time table should be discussed before the meeting- coffee - date -- dinner/discussion
movie date - or
dancing outing - or
many other entertaining outings-

Some ladies (not all) don't respect the time and effort or expense you have put out to come the distance to meet them -

Anytime you go over 50 miles round trip for a dinner day you can fiqure a
minumun investment of $40.00 to $75.00 or more-

I feel that they should have an a agenda for the meeting also in their area -
because we men don't always know whats is available in her area-

Also think about what town your going to for entertainment - ? some south ga towns are limited on activities for entetainmant-

I agree personalities come from within not on the outside-

Always have plan "B" when going into a new town or area- example a local dance floor in an ajoining town or renew friendship with an old aquaintaince from your past-high school --college- etc-

Seem like when I have driven a relatively long distance in the past the anxiety of the lady seems to turn into a moth stage and they are quick to judge- and/or even have that planned phone call inadverity calling to them-- for any rason to leave abruptly - it just goes with the territory of internet dating-

Don't worry about the lost time it also goes with the territory!
A least you want repeat the date with her again???

KEEP ON FISHIN THERE A BETTER CATCH! IN THE POND!!

With the negative attitude you have then no wonder it was the "waste of you time"!

You know there is a bad apple in every bunch - reagardless -of how you looked at the dance -
I would say 97.5% of the people had a "GREAT TIME " and were there to make friends enjoy themselves and DANCE !

That being said --then open up ---meet people and have apositive attitude towards the event- even being honest the way you expressed yourself comes on negative-

I have always heard if you can't say something positive then speak quietly to yourself-

Your welcome to come again and we'll see that you will mix and mingle -the rest is on YOU!

Hello-

Just a note to invite anyone that enjoys good compamy - good food and socializing with friends and most of all a good DANCE -

I have traveled quiet a distance for the last two months to attend this DANCE and have had a great time -the host and hostesses are super people who make you feel at home !

The DJ set the pace for the dancers with a variety of music- even invented some new dances - Can you keep up ???
COME GIVE IT A TRY!

Men don't be bashful - nor ladies don't be scared to ask a man to dance!

There again I look forward to the next one I can attend--

Hey - preston,

Glad to loan you a tent- its your responsibilitry to erect it -

Dating while unemployed

Hello OP-

I can relate to your present situation in life- it can be trying-especially on the dating level-

I have mastered the dating scene myself by finding ecomical dates from cooking at home - to movies at home - to going antiqueing at local shops- going to flea markets- to going to pool halls to shoot pool to social outings with other singles - to picnics - to ARE YOU GETTING THE IDEA??- Be creative-

Honesty up front is the most important element of a relationship- NOT $$$$

If a women judges you for the amount of money you spend on them them there is a socio-ecomical problem- especially if your unemployed- possibly drawing unemployment wages- the is a diffrences between a" hotdog night" and a "T" bone steak night- If a lady doesn't understand the diffrence - she has a problem
I live on a set retirement - but am presently out of a second parttime job - earnings being extra money for dating - fishing and hunting at times?

Hopefully its not the event - but the good and entertaining atmosphere and good positive personality you exhibit during your outing-

Keep on sending out the resumes - a job will get you a job !! GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!

when someone dies the family is all about the money
Posted: 3/20/2009 6:21:09 AM
hi OP

I'm sure your friends knew how valuable you were when helping her thro -out her last days-I applaud you -as many others do also-

I quess i was lucky in a sense when my father passed away many years ago - In his will he set quidelines for each of us - My mother got the largest percent % and the children got their equally shared %.
In his will to prevent an arguement - or legal challenge - he stated that anyone who challenged the distribution of the assets would be atomatically be dismissed and recieve nothing - thus zero percent- therefore dividing their remaining % back into the others share-
What do you think happened -absolutely no arguement- no challenges!!! enough said!

I know that there a some greedy people in the world after all they can get - I think they think they have an entitlement - to be scalpers upon the death of a love one or family member-
It just goes to show greed and hate among family outsiders - that seek compensations for nothing but creek kin- they are

Hello Markus- founder of P_O_F

I enjoy this site as it is - but the idea of charging people for a serious status is only a gimmick for you to make money!!! My question what does a "SERIOUS STATUS" mean- I am seroiusly looking - do I have to be branded as such -NOPE!

I would think anyone on any dating site is serious about establishing friendship leading to short term or long term relationship at any level that want it to be- from freindships to long term relationships to marriages! I think thats the ultimate goal for the majority-

The only change i see needed is a check box to delete multipal favorites at one time instead of individusally because it take up more time individually-
I would also suggest if the orriginator of a forum want to delete his or her forum after a set time then they should be allowed to do so - sometimes the subjects can become a negative contribution instead of an open minded dicussion for the future. JMHO

I also think -IF IT AIN"T BROKEN DON"T CHANGE IT!!!

LONE'LINESS
Posted: 3/5/2009 6:27:55 AM
hello-

Just wanted to pass on a few feelings about " LONELINESS

Even tho man and women were created for each other - it doesn't mean that each can and will live comfortable with each other in all aspects and levels of life-

Having lived alone many years before my marrriage of 12 years desolved i realize the benefits of both living together and alone- Many marriages experiences loneliness even being married - been there done that - and now live alone as a singleman-

Its is harder to be married and be lonely while there - than it is being single and alone.I have found pleasure in being single - by being involved in many social aspects of life and living thru involvement that married life didn't offer- its called freedom.

I have always heard when you can live alone and enjoy yourself then you can offer more to a long term realtionship - thru open honest integrity and communication than being conformed to the loneliness of a marriages as society see you.

Don't get me wrong men are created for women as much as women are created for man - but finding the balance of harmony in a great relationship is sometimes-- like looking for a needle in a hay stick-

The beauty part of single life is the experiences of looking for the equal mate- to balance ones lifestyle and create harmony -to enhance the pleasures of human connections - thru communications expressing likes and dislikes and sharing human touch and mutual goals for the future -

Its an ongoing discussion as to be single and lonely or experience loneliness because of noninvolvement in life as a married mate or a single person-

Last but not least get involved stay involved i a beneficial activity - there are to many hobbies that can lead to meeting a mate to develop friendship leading to a LTR that will make lonliness disappaer from you life-

Is divorce like mourning a death?
Posted: 2/19/2009 2:19:44 PM
IS DIVORCE LIKE MOURNING A DEATH_??

THE EMOTIONAL LOSS are diffent yet very similiar, I HAVE BEEN THERE AND EXPERIENCED BOTH - FIRST A DIVORCE AND THEN 18 MONTHS LATER LOSS OF OUR YOUNGEST SON AT THE YOUNG AGE OF FIVE YEARS.

IN MY DIVORCE SHE DIVORCED ME BECAUSE OF GREED FOR MONEY AND PRESTIDGE- AND MAKING ME FEEL WORTHLESS- MY ADJUSTMENT WAS ABOUT A YEAR IN TIME BEFORE I STARTED GETTING OUT SOCIALLY INTO SOCIETY AGAIN- HAVING MARRIED LATE IN LIFE-- I FELT I HAD MARRIED FOR THE DURATION OF A LIFE TIME. THE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE WAS EXTRONINARY--BUT ONCE I REALIZED IT WASN'T MY DOING I LIFTTED THE GUILT THAT HAD BEEN UNJUSTIFY BEEN PLACED ON ME- I LEFT THE DIVORCE SAYING TWO CHEATERS DESERVE EACH OTHER!!

ONLY TO EXPERIENCE THE DEATH OF MY SON COMPOUNDED WITH THE ON GOING GRIEF FROM THE DIVORCE- I PRAYED TO "GOD" FOR UNERSTANDING- AND IT CAME TO ME THAT HE "GOD" DOESN'T PUT MORE ON YOU THAN WHAT YOU AS A HUMAN CAN SURVIVE.
YES ALL PARENTS EXPECT THEIR CHILDREN TO OUTLIVE THEM - bUT AS I SEE IT THERE WAS A REASON FOR THE LOSS OF MY SON SOMETHING HUMANS CAN'T ANSWER BUT TRUST IN "GOD"AND ALL WILL SURVIVE- I KNOW MY SON SITS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE ALMIGHTY- AND I CAN RELATE TO THE HISTORY OF "JOBE" IN THE BIBLE-

THE DEALING OF HUMAN EMOTIONS STILL STANDS A MYSTERY TO MANY WHO ARE GOING THRU DRAMA IN THEIR LIFE- EACH TO THIER OWN TO RECOVER AT THEIR OWN RATE AN PACE OF TIME. PRAYER ANSWERS MANY QUESTIONS FOR FUTURE PEACE IN ONES HEART.

Prayer Request and Updates
Posted: 2/19/2009 6:30:36 AM
Good morning everyone-

Just a quick update on my foot surgery:

I went to the Dr for a follow up visit last friday and got a good report-I am hobbling around the house on an aircast - able to travel when someone else drives-

I still can't drive my car or drive my big truck - hopefully to return to it in april-
I have to use a common sense approach as to my outings until I return to the DR on march 17th for assignment of physical threapy-

All in all I am recovering good and will be back on the dance floor -SOON enough!
WISHING ALL A G_R_E_A_T S_P_R_I_N_G with a good st patricks day!!

Thanks to all that have communicated with me!!

HEAR YE HEAR YE - READ ALL ABOUT IT!!

UPDATE ON MY RECOVERY,

Just came in from DR. office - got a good progress report- I AM simi-MOBILE
I am allowed to drive MY car only a short distance from home. I have to continue to wear my aircast for another month before considering getting back into my truck around the first of april- I can drive by wearing my cast to the car - removing it - then wearing a shoe to drive - once i go to get out I must place my foot in the aircast for support-while walking-! a common sense approach of caution!!!

By recovering this way the DR feels I will be fully recovered by april - may -09-

Hers wishing you all a _G_R_E_A_T __ V-A_L_E_N_T_I_N_E_S __ DANCE!!!!

As the old saying says TIME will cure all aliments - thats all I have-
Looks like spring visit is my next vacation- or early summer!

By the way - I turned in my pilots licience for my lounge chair - now that I am up an about more!!

Look forward to keeping in touch with all of YOU!!!
