losing 30 pounds in 3 months?

I highly suggest not trying to lose "weight" but "body fat".
Get a body composition done, drink plenty of water, resistance training and cardio are really key if you are trying to lose because the more muscle you have the faster you will burn the fat.
I try to do a body comp every 4-6 weeks and it really tells you what you need to work on. When your muscle goes up you will gain weight but if you add more cardio to your weight routine you can burn the fat a lot faster.
Honestly, I wouldn't suggest losing 30 lbs in 3 months. It really takes time and if you really want the definition to show you need the muscle mass up and the body fat % down.
Weight in number can be very deceiving.

want to eat protein shakes but can't drink milk

If you ever make it out to Victoria or Vancouver you should check out a place called Popeye's Supplements. They have tons of different brands that they even let you taste test before you buy them. They have tons of Lactose free products that you can mix with water and taste great.
For myself I use Bio X Whey Isolate. It's low carb/fat and tastes great with water.
It's all preference really and what works for some doesn't work for everyone. Definitely try to go to a "supplement" store rather then stores that sell products they are not familiar with.
The best time to take protein is not before but after a workout since your muscles are under a lot of stress. The protein shake is good because it helps to build and repair muscles.
If you are looking for more of a meal replacement then get something with carbs and fat.
If you really want to lose weight and find yourself hungry you should make sure to eat every 2-3 hours. Nothing big.. veggies. almonds (only a few), rice crackers.. anything to just keep your metabolism going.
Anyways.... this is what worked for me and I've dropped 34 lbs!
Goodluck and hope you get to where you want to be! :)

U2

U2 will always have a special place in my heart..
my fave song = Pride (In the Name of Love)
I have to admit their latest song (can't remember the title) the instrumental does sound like one of their old tunes.
That seems to happen a lot when bands come back. It's kind of like bringing the 80's or 90's back. Look at Depeche Mode... I LOVE Depeche! Can we just bring all the good older bands back?

Protein Pudding

1 1/2 to 2 cups of milk
1/2 a packet of the sugar free instant pudding mix
2 scoops of protein
mix it for about 2 minutes
Then, if you like it cold, throw it in the freezer for a half hour.
I use whey isolate since it's low carb, low fat and not a thickening to the pudding. I try to stick to the vanilla for vanilla and chocolate for chocolate flavors.
It tastes sooooo good! I brought it to work and served it to people who did not see a difference. hehe

can non-pot smokers handle pot smokers?

I think it's stinky.
I wouldn't mind it if it was a one-off situation. At a party or a rare occassion.
If it was something they did regularly then I couldn't handle it.

What's the biggest mistake you've made IN LOVE?

Letting someone get away with not respecting me. :(
I knew I had to leave with some dignity so I ended it.
It was hard but I couldn't let someone treat me like that.

Same ole faces keep appearing on dating sites...why?
Posted:

I have to agree with the attention. I have heard before that it's an ego boost to some people. Myself, I have tried other sites and this one seems to be the best. People here seem to be a little more "real" then others.
Some people think they know what they want but really they have no clue. They stay on these things in hopes they will find someone but until they find themselves they'll have to continue looking.
So people meet people that are a great match but always think something better will come along. It's like keeping your options open... although some people get a little caught up and may let someone great pass them by.

The MSN trap

I say chat as much as possible here, move to phone or meeting in person and then if you like each other move to msn. It would be so much less awkward to initiate when you have met them already. If the dating is going well it won't matter who messages who. :)

teeth whitening..what are your thoughts and favorite products?

There are so many things out there that our bodies are not able to fight off after being subjected to them for so long..... aspartame, steriods (animals and plants we consume), vehicle emmission, radiation from microwaves, cigarettes (to those who smoke).... etc.
There's no more harm in whitening then with anything else we deal with daily.

Cheap parking downtown??
Posted:

I park at 29th station and hop on the train.. takes me 15 mins to get to waterfront!
I always find it a hassle to drive in and out of downtown.
If you are looking for monthly parking there's a lot underneath waterfront station that my gf pays around $110 a month and it's reserved spot... only thing is the wait list. It's through Imperial Parking. :)

I got my kit of Nite White Excel 3 from the dentist office.
I used 1 syringe and my teeth got incredibly white. I still get compliments and it's been almost 2 years since I did it.
It's worth it and my teeth are not any more sensitive then they were before. They are for a few days after you do it but long term it doesn't matter.
I would do it again.. if my teeth weren't white already. hehe

deleting a profile after coffee
Posted:
12/22/2006 2:45:19 PM
I would definitely delete my profile if I had made a committment to whoever I was dating at the time. I mean.. if I was "officially" a couple. I would want to delete it just for the fact that I hope to not come back to this site. If I come back then I come back with a new name and profile.... a new start to dating.
It's not like there aren't other forums online anywhere. Maybe they just don't have to do with dating.

Cleaning house ~ or should I say heart..
Posted:

I do! Every year I take a day to reflect on the things I accomplished over the year and think of new things for the next year.
I find that when I get motivated and determined to get these things done whatever things have gone wrong don't seem so bad. I just keep pushing towards completion.
I guess it's my way of cleaning out my life and knowing if I can do better for myself then more good will come!
