Flear, I have some of my own thoughts and personal experiences I would like to share with you but I don't want to do it on this forum and be the brunt of a lot of sneers and accusations. For 24 hours only, I will change my e-mail settings so you may send me your e-mail if you choose.

BRAVO FLEAR! I do have some web sites to direct you too that I think would be of interest to you and others....Loyd Aurebach M.A. is the Director of the "Office of Paranormal Investigations" here in Calif. He can be frequently seen on Discovery, TLC, History and of course Sci Fi channels. He has also written several books. I currently am taking his PI course from him. Go to his sites and you can decide if he's someone you might want to talk with. Very easy person to talk too with a great sense of humor!
www.mindreader.com
Another person of interest whom I have had contact with is Dr Mitchell Gibson, a foreinsic Psychatrist. He believes that 80% of the mentally ill have some sort of possession. Unless you have worked in Mental Health, it seems a little far fetched to most...The diagnostic code book used in Mental Health is considering putting "possession" as a diagnostic code.
His site www.mitchellgibsonmd.com
Some of Dr Gibson's beliefs seem a little on the "different" side, but I am not him nor have I experienced what he has. His book explains a lot of how he came to this point in his life and doing the work he's doing. Again, a great sense of humor and a very loving spirit.
I think you will find quite a difference in opinion and outlook between the two.

When I remarried, my husbands child was only two. We had 50/50 until he went to school. The children don't have a problem with co-parenting, the parents end up having the problems! There was a 3 hour travel time one way. We met half way. To be fair, meet halfway for the exchange at a McDonalds and have dinner or a soda together. Make it a fun positive exchange. Just try to keep the rules at both houses the same. Enjoy your time to celebrate the individual your are.

Flear, your wise beyond your years and you will make a good psychologist what ever you choose to specialize in.
A "game" I learned (don't know where I learned it...probably some PSI website) is, you take a red Ace and a black Ace out of a deck of cards. Place them in front of you face up. Take the deck and shuffle the remaining cards (you will have 50). With the cards facing down, try to sense if it's a red card or a black card. Put it in the pile you think the card belongs...either red or black. When your done with all the cards, count how many "hits" you had. The more you do this, the higher count you will get as you focus on "reading" the card. 15 correct hits is average. My grand daughter got 40+ hits correctly consistently!! (Way better than I ever did!!) When you get bored with that, try to see in your minds eye what suit it is!! It's good mental exercise.

Sunny...this guy Webhead is exactly what I am talking about! Webhead, I didn't say he WAS a gargoyal, I said he LOOOKED like one! As far as being a "teacher", I didn't mean it as working in the school system fool. You don't read very well do you? Take your meds, it will be ok once you clear.

Webhead, it was the WAY you suggested it! I didn't check it out after you suggested it...I have know about it for years!! Recently I had a patient who everyone thought was nuts, including her clergy....Mental health ready to put her on medication....she was having TLE. She was discharged without taking any psych meds.
So you come on these forums to harrase people or do you have something informative and postive to contribute?
"I'm sure you could use the money".....you don't know me or my financial situation. Why make a statement like that if not to be nasty?
I read your profile and it does explain a lot about your thought processes. It's been chemically altered, so I will go easy on you. Think a lot harder on how you come across to people. Your scarcasim and arrogance is not becoming. Apparently in your extensive travels, you didn't learn much....and that is truly sad.

Sunny, I have a very strong personal relationship with Jesus. He protects me and warns me constantly...and I listen to him! I once had a really weird co-worker give me an astrological reading and as he presented it to me, he also had a book of spells with him. (He looked like a gargoyal!! He hadn't been working our facility for very long.) He sat there and tried to convince me that I could do spells and have anything I wanted...that all Angels were the same and there was no good or evil. He said with my "powers" I would help more people if I learned these spells. I felt like I had come face to face with pure evil!! I couldn't get him out of the house fast enough! Lots of prayer work after that, thanking Jesus for the insight!! Funny, he was fired a short time later.
Since the beginning of time, there has been psychics and people have always flocked to them for advice when they can't find answers. Since the beginning of time, every time our world becomes chaotic, people say we are living in the end times. Did you know that there were two letters written about the end times? The religious guys picking and choosing what would be included and what would be left out, choose the version that you now see in the Bible. Why? Because This version evoked fear in people. They could control the masses. The other version gave hope. With the technology that we now have, it seems like there are more "psychic" individuals coming out of the walls! Look around at our world. Look at our society! It's a mess! The values, morals, and laws that God gave Moses are being bent and twisted by the liberals!! (By the way...there were over 200 laws God gave Moses for man to live by...but the 10 were a Readers Digest Condensed version) If the humans now would NOT rely on psychics, and medications, (or street drugs) to get thru their daily routenes with the focus on how much money they want and the materialistc stuff they think they need, look inward, learn coping skills and have faith, the "wanna be" psychics would be out of business!(We are now seeing the downside to the moral changes of the '60's and '70's)
All humans have this ability (We were made in His Image remember?) It's what they do with it that determines wether it is used for good or bad. My work has never been used for personal gain, nor money. In EVERY instance...it has been for good. I have a granddaughter who is an empath. She was born with it as I was. Seeing this in her, I was able to help her understand why she had so many overwhelming feelings, crying all the time. To sort out what was hers and what was someone elses. She is very active in the church and loved dearly by all those around her and who come in contact with her. She has the most amazing loving spirit that just radiates love. She has learned (from me as she was growing up) to have a Christ like mind and to always practice "unconditional" love, not judgemental. And....she is only 16 years old! Now, because she has these abilities, I fear that people are going to convince her that she is the product of the DEVIL! I have also taught her (as she has questioned me) when she has been given information by the church...to sort out "internally" what "feels" right. All organized religion, while meaning well, have some "man made laws" they say are scripture. Some ideas are really bazzar! I taught her to eliminate things that don't "feel" right and retain the ones that do. That God will direct her to what is right.
I don't set up booths at psychic fairs and give readings for $25 and I can't "connect" with people who are into this "new age" stuff. I am a teacher, a counselor. Not a fortune teller with a crystal ball who conjurs up spirits to ease someones mind or heart. I help people understand what is going on with them, offer choices for them to make. I never tell them what to do. I discourage the use of ojui boards...(they are a vehicle in which dark energy can come thru.) I discourage siences (sp). I don't tell them they are going to go to hades if they don't change their ways. And your right about the prayer work. I get soo hurt when people tell me I am doing the work of the devil because they fear what I may know. THAT in itself is the work of the devil....to break down my belief system, my faith,my self esteem and jump on the bandwagon with the rest of the humans in this cahotic mess we call "society".

Pleasantron, I don't "practice" this. I wish my "mental imaging" would work! People have been trying to get me to do this and the "switch" is turned off! This ability just hits me when ever. I don't seek out information on how to "improve it" or make it stronger. I dont' see things before they happen. I have never had precognitive dreams and I can't pick the winning lottery numbers. I have studied the "scientific" side of all of this looking for understanding of the mind and how it works. And I am still studying....And what you said in your last paragraph was so true. Thank you for your response.

I am VERY FAMILIAR WITH TEMPORAL LOBE EPILEPSY!! BEEN TESTED..DON'T HAVE IT! And ya know...it's comments like that, just being mean..is why I keep this stuff to myself most of the time. Too much ignorance out there and your comment was an example of that ignorance! I wish it was epilepsy! Then I could be a skeptic and just take my meds! If you knew more about that disorder, you would then know that some of our greatest minds, muscians, and artist in history had TLE. Most of their work was done while having a seizure!
I have been working in Mental Health for over 33 years fool. By the way..have you taken your meds today???

I have been reading all the post on this thread. Some of them just sent my blood boiling!! Mainly the ones who call being psychic or being a medium "the works of the Devil!"
I have been called a "witch" since the 1st grade. I grew up crying all the time and not knowing why, and was punished for it! Having "Psychic" abilities were the "work of the Devil".
I knew things, felt things..and was quiet. I saw things, felt things, and I was quite. My self esteem trashed! When I was in my mid 20's, a co-worker saw these things in me and gave me permission to "be who I am". I put my toe in the water to test the tempreture. I gradually "came out of the closet" as it were over a number of years. My accuracy when reading people surprises me even now!! I attribute it to my working in Mental Health for over 33 years..knowing human behavior....but some things just happen that I can't explain or give a reason for! When my brother in law died, I heard him in my head say "Jan you were right, this is wonderful" only to get a call moments later that he had died. Purpose?? When I did a massage on a lady I didn't even know, a person popped into my head...he said "tell her I am here." I then replied mentally, who are you? "He said "I am Johnny". I knew that her son had been murdered 4 weeks earlier, but that was all the information I had on her! I mentally told "Johnny" I wasn't going to say anything unless he could validate something about my client. He said she was born in LA. So, playing along I said "Dorothy, were you born in Lousiana?" She said "yep", My eyes got as big as saucers!! I then said "who is Johnny? Bright affect, big smile, really happy? she replied "Oh that's my brother. He was murdered 5 years ago during a robbery on his way home from work". Internally I was freaking out!! I then asked her "did you buy a house recently?" She said yes. I asked "two story with a loft upstairs between the bedrooms?" (I could visualize it) She laughed and said "yes"...."well, your brother wants you to put a pool table up there!". She almost fell off the table laughing and said "that's my brother!!" We talked quite a bit after the massage...she and her husband were very active in the church. Her husband dropped out after their son was murdered. During the conversation, an elderly lady came to mind and I described her to Dorothy. It was her husbands deceased mother. I explained to Dorothy that it wasn't Gods fault that her son died. That every thing bad that happens, people are quick to blame God. The Devil just loves that too! (The Devil can take a life, but not give it!!) She wanted me to talk to her husband who was so lost in grief. I talked with her husband...no visions, no spirits...just a talk from the heart and how we do go on living even after death. He went back and got involved in the church again realizing that it isn't always Gods fault when something bad happens!! I don't seek out spirits because you can conjur up dark entities that can fool you! When it happens I have to really be cautious cause I don't know which one it is!! I was massaging my sister who had some back problems. I saw a well defined round swollen area on her right shoulder blade...I knew it wasn't a muscle! I told her to get a chest x-ray. She did the next day. She had a tumor in her lung, that size in that area!! The raised area was never to be seen again! The works of the Devil or God wanting me to alert my sister?? (She survived and has been cancer free now for 5+ years!)
My hands heat up when I get around someone that may be hurting or sick, not always, but when I guess it's necessary to bring it to their attention somehow...I don't know...But I zero in on who it is, tell them what I think is going on and ask if I can put my hands on them...They validate me before I touch them....and, they are relieved!
I didn't ask for this "gift"....I don't charge for this information. When I am told I should, I tell people that the information is not mine to charge for. I dont' tell the future even if I know it for fear it will alter the path one needs to take in order to learn. I try to live my life with a Christ like mind and teach "Unconditional Love" as we are all suppose to do. I don't believe in organized religion as most are FEAR BASED. While the Bible is a true history book, MAN decided what was to be put in the Bible out of all the information they had. So much is left out!! To get an accurate account of what happend in the days before an after Christ, you need to read the Torha (sp) and the Koran. Watch the history channel when they do series like "who wrote the bible" etc. AND...God did speak to people in dreams and give them insight into future events!! So which is it? The works of the Devil or the works of God??? A true Medium is a Validator for the living...like John Edward tells people, "I am just the messenger". Each time this weird thingy called being a "medium" happens, and I pass along the information...the person whom it is intended for, makes them feel relieved to know that we exist on another demension. Everyone has these abilities..we were born with them! Most humans have forgotten them as they got older. Each and every one of you has had an experience to some degree or another. It's who we are! Yes there is good and there is Evil and being a psych..I know about both! I am a magnet for it because I am so sensitive! I dont' "meditate" nor call on the "spirits"....I have just learned to listen to my heart and what it tells me. I don't "decide" who to heal, it just happens....am I a receiver to other peoples thoughts? Have no idea..due to the fact we are energy based...it would be no different than using a cell phone which sends electricity over the air waves!! You can be a sender or a receiver or block all calls!
And Yes, there is a multitude of phoneys and frauds out there trying to make a buck at this stuff. So much so that I don't even tell people I am psychic, intuitive, empathic, clairvoyant or a healer. I don't want to be thrown in to that catagory. I can't just bring it on at will! It's there I guess when it's needed. When I was down one day feeling sorry for myself...I was told (mind voice) that "Psychic are Gods Angels on this earth". I know that the people I help makes them feel good, gives them faith not only in themselves, but renews the faith in their spiritual beliefs...takes the saddness away...validates...but makes for a very lonely life for me!
So for those of you who think that being Psychic is the work of the Devil, you must really be a mess when you get a "psychic glich" when the phone rings and you know ahead of time who it is, or have a dream come true, or hear your name called out only to turn your head and no one is there...or catch an image out of your periphial vision and you KNOW something was there....or get a feeling something bad is going to happen if you do something.....and you do it and it turns out bad! It's who we are!! Just like anything else in life...some people are better at things "naturally" more so than others...It is not a gift...it's just who I am...

Ok, I changed the settings so you can e-mail me!
This "thingy" (Remembering) I wrote was YEARS ago....I wasn't even trying....just came out of no where! No t.v. at the time, no radio, phone or car...so I started writing!
Go to the Forum on creative writing and check out some of my other stuff.
Although not professed to be a GREAT writer by any stretch of the imagination, it's simple, no guessing, no symbols to speak of and for the most part, people can easily identify with it. I have had two of my poems published....big deal right? I don't write for the general public..except my one book, actually two, and they have to do with Fathers Rights and parenting rights. I started a novel but haven't finished it,(the women would love it!) and I have a book of my poems/sayings/thoughts titled "Touching Souls, My journey", I need to finish putting together. Even I can see an improvement in my writing....but that comes with life experiences too and how I have learned to perceive things.
It seems EVERYONE has, or is, writing a book! Writing is easy and with the POD, it can get expensive and marketing is REAAAAALY hard as well as expensive. Tough market to try and break in to as any well known writer knows!
Would welcome any comments or suggestions. After all, that is how we learn!!

If The Sun....
were an expression of who I am....
it would say...
I am bright, warm, intense
and that I radiate this thru out the universe.
I extend it to all who get near me...all in the form of unconditional love.....
and even thru the clouds full of rain,
I can still be seen, still be felt....
for the powerful spirit that I am,
yet to remind me of the lesser human
that I must be...
If The Moon
were an expression of who I am.....
it would say...
I am bright, intense...cold.....
welcoming the clouds full of rain to hide this part of my being,
for no one to see, to remind me of the lessons I am to teach,
the cold yet beautiful essences of the human that I am,
To light the darkness without feeling,
to guide you on your path as the powerful spirit that I am.
If the Storms
were an expression of who I am....
It would say there was conflict....
It would say I was beginning to love as a human.....

Sometimes I laugh,
sometimes I even cry.
Sometimes I just sit there,
and with much frustration I sigh.
Looking over the past brings much to mind.
The crazy things we did and said,
and I giggle out loud.
The remembrance of the love I lost when you left,
only allows me to sit in silence,
with the tears silently flowing
from the eyes that once look at you
with much love........

Encourage to Discourage! (copyright)

INTRODUCTION
Ever wonder if what you heard is what was said? Kind of a unsettling feeling in your stomach when someone paid you a compliment? Or maybe there was that “but...” at the end of the compliment as they proceeded to shred your enthusiasm or idea to bits ,all under the guise of “constructive criticism“? Maybe that is why most humans get “uncomfortable” when compliments are paid to them or someone is trying to encourage them along on their path to reach their goals. It “feels” as if they really didn’t mean it. It certainly doesn’t mean we don’t deserve to have nice things said to us.. why do people always have to include the “but...”, or some other word that begins to discourage your efforts or success?
THE BEGINNING!
It all starts in the very beginning. Before we are even born! When the cells begin to divide in the womb and begin to grow into a little human it starts!! The realization that one is pregnant and expecting a little human, things might go like this. “Honey, we are going to have a baby! Isn’t that wonderful?” The spouse then says “Yes Dear! That is great! But...it would have been better if we were more financially secure..don’t worry though, we’ll make do, isn’t it wonderful? We are going to be parents! But are you going to quit your job after the baby is born? Who is going to take care of it? But never mind that, we have plenty of time to work out the details...you look so beautiful....I can’t wait to see you all swollen with our child! You’ll loose your cute figure but we can work out together as a family and if you nurse the baby, WOW, what big boobs you’ll have...at least until you quite nursing...then we will have to see about implants to fill you up so you don’t look like two socks with sand in it!” (He laughs uncontrollably) Of course, would be mom sees no humor in this and gives a blank stare as he’s rolling on the floor in uncontrollable hysteria. Mom is thinking “I wonder where I look in the phone book for planned parenthood clinics?” “What’s the matter Honey, this is going to be great! Just think, we are going to be PARENTS!” See honey! Isn’t this wonderful???? I am so glad you are carrying our child!!!” Mom right away thinks maybe she is over reacting and starts making excuses for his insensitivity and jokes within her mind. She smiles weakly as he gives her a hug...”Yes Dear, it is wonderful”, and suppresses the discouraging comments down to the very core of her being.
Now keep in mind, this tiny human is hearing all of this! It is being computed in it’s brain as it is developing! And Mom’s thoughts? Passes right from the brain, thru the spinal fluid, through the blood, and those little cells can’t wait to pass it along to this little human growing inside! It is encoded inside this developing brain! It’s genetic!! You are born with it!!
Ah, the well meaning friends....God love them! “YOUR WHAT??? How can you afford it? Are you going to keep working after the baby is born? I just think that is wonderful, you have been trying for so long..it’s just the timing is a bit off isn’t it? We will have to go shopping!” “When I was pregnant with my first child, I thought I was going to loose it! I started cramping in my third month and then I started spotting! I was so scared! I thought it might have been the 20# I had gained as I was eating everything in sight. Ya know you eat for two now, and I really believed it was because of the weight I had gained! So really watch how much weight you are putting on. I gained 70# with my first one and I never lost that baby fat!! And that was over 15 years ago!! You put on too much weight and it’s there forever! Then the never ending dieting starts. You don’t even want to go there! I had a cute figure like you before I got pregnant”. “Let’s go over to Dairy Queen for lunch. They have great hamburgers and we can have a soft serve ice cream dipped in chocolate afterwards!”

SI Joint Problems-Desperately Seeking Help!

Actually Sombient was right on. I also had that condition due to deep tissue tear from a golf swing. I couldn't walk 10 feet where I had to stop and stoop over cause the pain was so sever, leg going numb. Had the epidurals(no effect) did the chiropractic thing,(no effect) did the deep tissue work, had bruises on my hip from the deep accupressure I had certain people do. This went on for two years!! And I am a massage therapist!! Then it came to me on how to release it. I told my Chiropractor and he performed as I suggested! It does work. If the injury/pain is on the right side, lie on your left side, extend your right leg over your let side and have someone hold your ankel and use light traction...bring the leg further up towards your head(about a foot) and again perform light traction. Then have the person find that "dimple" just to the backside of your hip bone just about 4" above the top part of your leg..you will feel it really hurt at this trigger point when pressed on...breath out the pain as they take their elbow and press on it for about a minute, release, press again, release. It really hurts at the moment, but the muscles are are tightening around the nerve..gotta get them to release...once I learned this techniques, the pain wasn't as frequent. It was there from time to time as I hobbled around the house cause no one was around....so I said "the hell with it and took up BellyDancing!!"
And I am old!!
Then it shifted to the other side!! I had it on the run!!
My chiropractor loves me
I still get it from time to time, but at least my leg isn't going numb!! Putting a baseball under your hip in that "trigger" point and letting your own body weight press into the ball also works well as accupressure when no one is around. Shark cartilage is excellent for inflamation of the joints and Myofibralgia
Just adding my two cents...if all else fails, try hypnotherapy for pain management.

opinions plzzzz (ex and babys father)

My worry here would be the health of the child. If the father was using drugs or drinking all the time...the child may have some issues after birth. It has FINALLY come to light that the health condition of the father at the time of conception is just as important as the mothers!
I have been saying this for YEARS!! Some of the disorders such as ADD or ADDH may show up or some other chromesone damage. Hopefully not! If you have been healthy and not done drugs or alcohol, then if it does show up, you know which side of the family contributed to this.
If you truly want the father out of the picture...don't name him as the father...put down "unknown" on the birth certificate...and don't expect anything. The advice about him not wanting to be a father, the fact he has married some one else..true story..you probably won't get a penny even if it's court ordered.
And..."North Exposed" was correct. A woman has a choice as to wether she wants to be a parent....a father doesn't. So, if men don't want to become Daddy's..they need to use protection regardless of what the woman says!
As far as being a single parent (of three)...I did it for 13 years and it was great! By the time I was 21, I was divorced with three little ones!! Had my 1st one just after my 18th birthday! Got rid of an abusive husband after 4.5 years, got my degree, coached baseball, bluebird leader, worked full time, and went thru 10 surgeries between the 3 of them. I didnt' think they would live to be 10 years old!! But...we all made it! They are all successful adults with careers, and I have the 5 best grandkids and kids a parent could ask for. Just be prepared to have your child come first...in everything!! I miss the childhood of my kids...now my grandkids that they are older. It was soooo much fun!! (And because I started young, I became a young grandma! My grandkids just glow when they tell their friends how old I am!!) And just remember, every decision you make, including who you date, where you live, affects that child till they are 18 years old. Enjoy those 18 years!! They go bye quickly!! I stayed single by choice. It was easy. No competition!! When I re-married, I went thru a lot with my then husband on custody issues with his son. My oldest daughter couldn't stand my husband. There was no "bloodlove" between...which is often the case in blended families.
Don't worry about finding a man...if it happens great, if it doesn't...that is ok too...it will happen when it's suppose too! Concentrate on your child and your education! Don't depend or look to the father for anything. And, I think in your heart you know this.
Best of luck to you.

A Moment of Loneliness

A MOMENT OF LONELINESS (copyright)
For the most part, I don’t feel the loneliness...not like I use to as a single parent. The aching for a partner to comfort me in stressful times. To make a complete family when the children and I would go somewhere, or even someone to share intimate good times.
Now, I am a single person. Not a mother..just me for the first time in my life. No one to be responsible for except myself. The consequences of my actions will not directly affect anyone else unless “they” choose for it too. If I choose not to clean, cook, work or not work, it affects no one. This is not to say that no one would worry about me, be concerned with me, nor even love me. It just mean that the children will not starve, be without a home, or left to fend for themselves.
On this beautiful Spring day, while I was driving to work, I felt sadness at not having a mate as I looked at the couples in other cars. An old beat up truck, an old car that the battery was dead on, brought back memories of earlier years when money was so tight. How creative I was. How looking forward to the sale ads on Sunday and Wednesday was excitement for me so I could get the “best deals” or have the “I wants”. How going to the lake on a hot day or up to the River because we didn’t have the luxury of Central Heat and Air was really fun! Born out of discomfort, how fishing was more than just fun, but another source of variety to a tiresome menu. The wheeling and dealing with people for rent, garage sales, swapping favors cause no one had money. Trading off baby clothes and furniture when no one had money, formed friendship that lasted for as long as we lived in that same complex. Baking cookies, making meals stretch, when fast food was a treat! Having food was a priority with the cupboards and freezer always full. Now, I have no use for the freezer except to put “extras” in just in case the grandchildren want something that I have stocked just for them, or my adult children don’t want to stop at the store on their way home from work or ask me to fix their favorite meal. The freezer has become my “just in case” freezer.
When the weather is hot, sometimes I will go out to the pool for a quick dip, but mainly stay in the cool house. I started overbuying for the grandkids in my excitement at being a young grandma. But most of the items ended up in a garage sale with the tags still on them or hardly worn. The “wants” have diminished to “it would be nice to have but....”
I have the vehicle I always wanted. Got my house that I own. I’ve got enough clothes..I come and go as I please....there isn’t really anything I “need”, except someone to follow me around and organize my busy inconsistent life.
Sometimes I ache for those younger days when the motivation was higher, the creativity soaring and the dreams brighter.
