Finding a good woman

I relate completely to the originator of this thread. The responses, especially the one about running like hell, is exactly what he is referring to. That is nonsensical to me. I think he is biting the bullet and being smart, even though his emotions are telling him otherwise. Why do women that get the crap beeat out of them by a guy continue going back for more over and over and over? I know this from personal experience seeing my ex wife from in my 20's. She is scars head to toe, and is barely able to walk. Why did she divorce me after 5 years? The only logical answer I can come up with is that she wanted a bad guy that beat the crap out of her. I will never forget when she mocked me and called me a computer because I used a 3 syllable word. I hope she is still alive, she requires an oxygen machine to breath.

Anyone else feel like giving up because of being unsuccessful?

Suspect Orchid ( I tried to email Orchid but can't because I smoke, and I was disappointed) responded to my post which was as negative as it gets, but true. After a while, one gives up. I moved back into apartment style life and I love it, especially because of all the wonderful little kids that don't know my name, but run to see my giant Labrador, " Lexidor Cut Thick". Recently I have actually come to accept that irritating advice about stop looking and it will find you. Well, I asked for guidance from above, and got it. Now I seek to help others and find another purpose in life, and I know it will happen.

I must totally agree, I actually had no idea that there could possibly be such a thing as a virtual testimonial. It never crossed my mind. Oh well. This thread has pointed out a number of possible deceptions. But, the same occurs in real life as well, so it isn't just cause it is on-line, it is because there are just many evil people out there.

(Yeah, well I went thru 7 defective batches of defective flip-flops that didn't perform to spec's during my inventing process. It nearly cost me a divorce because of how long it took to find a single batch that worked. Wish it would have before kids became involved. That was ages ago. The point is, your analogy sucks when it is read by an inventor.)
To answer the question to the topic; yes, I have given up 100% after my most recent burn which involved thieving money from me, and stealing a large chunk of my life before I realized that I was being played. I now, during my lovely recovery, recognize that all I need in my life right now is my dog, my friends the Kinca*, my TV, maybe my PC, and to be able to eat.

W hen the interests includes a list of over 150 things, including sarcastic ridiculous things. That many interests seems more like a wish list, which is ok if it is humanly possible.
When the description of themself contains historic literary prose that means nothing that I can understand, or the entire words to songs or poems that they did not even write themself, or a listing of music that sounds like an archive.
Descriptions that I have to page down five or more times to get through, and causes me to wonder if my dog can hold it before I can finish reading it.

Read this and you will know for sure about soulmates!

I had my soulmate, and I agree that it is most likely always a karmic relationship, as souls tend to stay in the same small groups throughout their incarnations. If you think about it, it is much more efficient and expedient that way, as far as learning the lessons to be learned. I was with mine for 16 years; she lived in chronic pain for the last 14, and passed on the eve after dropping me off at the bus station to go visit my mother who I had not see in about 12 years. I believe that it was her last task.

Why do women always put someone to make me laugh in their profiles?
Posted:

What if your sense of humor is different? Some like slapstick; I can't stand it. Jokes have a wide variety of flavors. Even more important, what if your sense of humor sucks, and things that others laugh at make you bored. Making that specification is no different than saying, "Someone who laughs at things that I think are funny". Many people laugh at things that are not funny!

A question for the Guys...Ever been TOO BUSY TO CALL?
Posted:
2/8/2007 2:12:40 PM
Some people are just not into talking on the phone. It broke up a relationship of mine after a few weeks because she was a fanatic about it,telling me when to call, then that I'd better call. I hate talking on the phone. After one missed deadline, the pressure was just too much. My current relationship after being told of my phoeaphobia completely understood, and right now, while she is out of town, when I do call her I enjoy the heck out of it, and when I want to get off the phone she understands. She also understands that some people just cannot stand long telephone conversations. It seems some people place way too much importance on it, making it a chore instead of a nice thing to do; like making your other breakfast in bed. The same act if done by choice is wonderful. Done by expectation makes you feel like a slave.

^^^ Agreed; NORMAL relationships are built on trust, or they don't really exist. In this case, things are not normal. Perhaps someone who is expecting to go into space may figure that whoever goes along with them will be their's, since the only other choice at hand would be, at best, microbes.

Is cooking a thing of the past for women?
Posted:
2/8/2007 5:28:10 AM
Each woman that I have been involved with, surprisingly, have loved to cook, and of course done it very well. This is something that I do not take for granted. Especially because there have been times when left to my own devices, I have caused detriment to myself by keeping my same old simple eating/cooking habits that I did when I was 20'ish years old (put it on aluminum foil in the oven for 10 minutes). Finally, now it has rubbed off on me, mostly due to cost, but I am now cooking myself, and it is a whole lot better overall, and more healthy. I continue to appreciate more and more the benefits of a woman that likes to cook, but as long as I can afford to, love to take my girl out and don't care if she can cook or not. I have just been lucky that when it mattered, they did.

I am legally blind. 18% field of vision. Can't ever get a license, shouldn't really anyway. Very limiting, dating was very difficult, but I don't need to anymore, I caught a fish, actually we hooked each other. I just recently moved to a location where I am within walking distance of everything I need, and it is wonderful.

Cutie, I didn't mean to imply that you were clingy, only the possibility that he was afraid of it happening. Only throwing out possibilities, tis all. I guess you would think that after knowing each other for that long, you would each have a handle on one another's personalities. Hope you two can get thru it somehow, or at least agree to disagree.

I want someone to hang out with.
Posted:

I think "friends" implies Emailing, chatting, phone calls, etc., sort of like a pen pal. Hanging out means going to a club and not having to worry about looking like you are alone. Having an obedient "hanger outer" can free a girl from being hit on constantly. I once had 2 beautiful women that hung out with me and it was real fun. They each had their guys, but would hang out at my place because they knew they were secure, and totally confident that nothing would be permitted to happen to them on my watch, and believe me some tried. We had a blast dancing around and partying, with total peace of mind. It gave them a safe haven where they could really, really enjoy themselves without any fear of anything. And I enjoyed the heck out of it myself.

And don't forget Bernie Ebber's, the King of Corporate Greed. He was sentenced to 30 years, but I think he may have died before beginning his sentence. Not sure, but if he did, he did it on purpose. Me, and 10's of thousands of others in the telecommunications industry all lost our careers (me 26 dedicated years) because some mf just couln't get enough millions. Worldcom followed right after Enron. It is just not as well known because it involved the telecom infrastructure, and the loss of careers was distributed throughout the U.S. The U.S. government should never have allowed the "merger" (what a ****ing joke, it was all paper) of Worldcom buying MCI. I am a degreed Electronics Engineer company kind of guy for 26 years till one day all of a sudden I am unemployed, taking care of my sedintary SO with no insurance, watching all the vendors follow suit, closin g down 100's of contracts, STOP this strikes a serious nerve, I now live in NC and me and my lady suffered miserably till we realized he eliminated telecom by his deals with Wall Street, her sedintary in chrionic pain , electric shut off most of the time, water shut off, her in chronic pain. Yeah you got my gander up. She died 2 years ago. May they rot in Hell!

My first ever 2 cents:
"this woman is looking for a gentleman, that is honest, respectful, responsible, fun, witty, loves to laugh but serious when needed to be"
Who doesn't want the perfect man. This is about you, so it says that you demand flawless perfection. Way too general. What do you consider fun?
"walk with me, not ahead of me"
I have seen this same statement in other profiles, and don't have a clue what the heck it means.
"enjoys outdoor activities, evenings out or at home, love sports, enjoys being spoiled and having fun"
Be more specific. Again, this is supposed to be about you. Describe what outdoor activities. Evenings out or at home is a weird statement. Do you love watching or participating in sports, what sport, live or on TV? How do you like to spoil? How do YOU have fun? Remember, this is to make people want to contact you because of something they see that you may have in common. Axe muderers probably have fun doing what they do.
"life is far to short for games, meaness, controlling violence"
Duhhh!
"..and a man that enjoys to have a hug and butterfly kiss and loves of love."
What is a butterfly kiss? Do you mean loads of love? You should define this a lot more specifically.
Hope I helped, did my best. lol & best wishes & Merry Christmas

Is There a Man Out There That Can Give Me Advice?

Don't be a doormat. That privilage is reserved for men. I made the mistake of letting one individual find out about my life insurance gain when my SO passed away, and it attracted every predator this side of the planet. Do not give up another penny. It is yours and you deserve it and noone else does. There are evil people out there, even people that scour the obituaries to locate vulnerable good natured people. Put anything you have left in some kind of investment.

Don't forget the indirect effect. If you have something funny and make a girl laugh in a club, you may just make a friend. But then other girls will see you both smiling, which will in turn spark their interest. Then if you still have any good funny stuff left in your arsenal, you may be observed by still other girls making two girls smile. Repeat this process enough times, and the odds of being asked to strip increase exponentially. This is only a theory.

Is Sarcasm Funny?
Posted:
12/10/2006 3:51:46 AM
Sarcasm isn't always used just to be funny. Sometimes I use it when what I really want to say to someone is, "You idiotic, dumb, m..f... That has got to be the most stupid thing ever to come out of someone's mouth." Thus, sarcasm can very healthy, and can prevent death or serious maming to the one who delivers it. At a minumum, it can be a way to avoid insulting the heck out of somebody you care about, but at the same time getting your point across.

I learned right quick that sarcasm does not travel the video waves very well, and you can easily get your butt in big trouble with little effort. I figured out that the smilies are the solution.
Sarcasm, you got to be kidding. Just watch out for using it in Post Updates, because you lose your smiley friends.

That is too funny! Propranolol is a blood pressure medication. It also helps to prevent migraine headaches. That's why I take it. Erase painful memories? I don't think so! I have PTSD and it hasn't erased any of mine yet! And how would it know which memory to erase? What a concept! Lots of other good advice on here though.
Lots and lots of drugs have multiple uses, and more are constantly being discovered. People should not make condescending remarks to others just because they do not know something. It is rude, unproductive, and downright silly.

The human doormat syndrome
Posted:
11/29/2006 5:07:09 AM
Like Piano says, I also reconciled with myself that I am in no way a doormat just because I have gone out of my way to help others, be it a kind word, or giving them something they need. I didn't know to call it a catalyst, but that is the perfect description. I can derive happy contentment just knowing that I may have altered somebody's life path in a positive way, kind of like the butterfly effect. Its an act of giving, which by definition, means not having any expectation of a return. Some that hear you are a giver will blast you as a doormat. A major distinction that I have made is that there is a big difference between giving something vs. something being taken. As soon as someone takes, giving is no longer in the equation, because they made it so. True giving is really just helping others. I believe that if you be a good person and you help others whenever you can, then you are making God real happy.

I still cannot comprehend what someone means when they say, "I don't want to lose him". How do you lose somone in a mutual relationship? Don't conform to their demands or rules? Don't pay their rent? Don't give them sex when they want it? Don't do what he tells you to do? Oh now I think I see: it means that you want to be controlled by him in every way, and you aren't sure if you're doing a good enough job at it.

There are some that believe that Revelations was translated completely incorrectly, and that it has nothing whatsoever to do with an apocalypse. It is believed by some that it actually is a detailed decription of human anatomy, and the continued reference to 7 is actually referring to the seven chakras that are understood in a more Eastern understanding of anatomy.

Why do men want to rush into the sex part of a relationship?
Posted:
11/28/2006 6:50:29 AM
Men only communicate with sex. When they can't put into words what they need to say.. they result to sex. It's not the best way to communicate but that's all men know.
I could really resent this statement, but I gave up hate and resentment a long time ago. Not all of us "RESULT" (haha) to sex. I might add that I possess A Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedic Edition and a Funk & Wagnalls International Edition, and I use them all the time. What have you got? Perhaps you have only been dating people that could care less about intelligent conversation. Not everybody does; it is a matter of personal preference.

why people kill in the name of god- one personal theory.

Some are sticking to the narrow minded Bible reciting idea of Christianity without even taking into account that reincarnation was removed from it by decree because it didn't fit into the political environment in 300 something AD. All explantions of a person's understanding of religion do not have to be stated in Biblical language. Didn't any of you ever hear of us being referred to as God's children? My beliefs have no unanswered questions and have no neccessary seclusion of science and religion. Why don't you answer some questions. Anyone can pick something apart. Somebody talked about God time. They didn't read correctly then. They restated and then argued. Your closed mindedness will prevent you from learning things that might make sense and eliminate the need to keep asking questions. If a discussion about religion can never get past quotations from the Bible, then go to the Bible for your answers.
Does anybody know what "rhetorical means"?

Why did a perfect God create flawed creatures?
All souls used to dwell with God. Then a bunch of them were bad, and started playing around with all this physical creation crap. They played too much and got stuck lying in the bed they had made and couldn't get out. God set things in motion for them to get out of the trouble they had gotten themselves into, because in their soul's present corrupted state, they could not escape out of the physical level of existence. He made the perfect vessel (perfect compared to the monstrous things His kids were incarnating into) and put His spark into it (free will). Thanks to His help, lost souls are able to evolve enough to alter their makeup, if they choose to. Once they evolve enough, then they can travel out of the space/time world if they want to, and once again be able to commune with Dad. We are all lost souls, except the ones that are here by choice to help other souls stay on the right path. Who said God was perfect (rhetorical), He's just more perfect than us.

Has anyone been brave enough to meet someone with no pic at all?

I've swung on the pic'less side 3 out of 3 dates, and it was all good. Then again, I am not a Ken doll, so I have no need for a Barbie doll, nor do I care. In fact, I expect I might be doing it again real soon.

Anyone in here serious?

I am very serious. I am moving to Gastonia this Friday, Dec 1, 2006, and I am happy as a fly on a cowpie about it. I can't drive because of an eye thing that was diagnosed a year ago, so that limits my participation in events big time. A year before that, my SO passed away. Life sure hits you in the head with a brick fast, sometimes, doesn't it. But, I am transplanting myself to a mini center of civilization on a bus route, cause I am so dang tired of not being around people. Serious, you bet ya! And I know this site works. There's 27 interesting, desirable women within 5 miles of where I am moving to. I've walked further than that for a pack of cigarettes. And I'm not one that gives a darn about having a picture up or not. Had 3 successful pic'less dates before, just no chemistry/compatability. All women are beautiful. I am certain there will be as many where I'm headed as there are up in High Point or over there in Hendersonville, or way over there in Greensboro.......

May the force be with you Annabella, keep a stiff upper lip, and I think you know what you have to do, and you will feel better after. Well you might feel like crap at first, but eventually you will feel good about it, I hope. Dang, yawl got some funky slang. Your thread caused me to search the net for a translation of the many UK slang terms, cause I encounter a lot of them in other threads, too, and some I can't figure out. But, alas, I couldn't find one. "Bladdered", I love it.

TO TOUCH OR NOT TO TOUCH

Got to keep up on the world's longest thread about two towels touching. Repondering the situation, I say take both towels outside and burn them, that will sterilize everything.
