Not perfect and certainly not all that.
Nothing wrong with bald... been there myself...
It doesn't matter what you put in profile.... 97% are gonna judge you on photo.

Men on POF unwilling to respond to email, why?

I have emailed a few on this and other sites. Most of the time I get NO response. Even the ones that say "I don't go on looks, or personality matters" . That tells me that they are just like all the rest. NOw the ones that do respond, we usually end up chatting and have turned out to be pretty good friends.

At the moment I'm still a little upset over the break up and I have already found out that nothing has changed in the dating world after 3 years..... some men still base everything on looks...... (not taking into consideration that all folks are not photogenic)

As one of the women who always winds up in the "friends box", I understand the pain of being good enough to "hang" with, but not good enough to be a date. I also hide my feelings about it. Guys, maybe you can give us some pointers on what we need to do differenly to keep from being put in the box.

Here's something to think about..... I've been cheated on by both my ex husbands. I had thought the last guy I was involved with was the one, but found out that his mistress was one of the chemical kind......... I feel it is far worse to have to deal with that type that the female one....... Any feedback would be helpful.

New Relationship

if you listen to what he said/she said you will never be able to have anything. Trust is something that has to be earned and once there is a little bit of doubt, sometimes it can ruin everything. Take it slow... believe what your head is telling you... you have to try to succeed......and if you don't give yourself and him this chance you may regret it. (I know about regret.......... just as I know about betrayed trust, but it hasn't corrupted me.. I still look for the good in everyone)

are we too sensitive
Posted:
4/4/2008 9:26:44 AM
Yes we do live in a society that is WAYYYYYYYYYYY to sensitive over slang. Here in the US (as you probably know) have people that love to start a ruckus over comments made to the media, ie the Imus episode. Had the comment he made been made by a person of color rather than a white male, nothing would have ever been said. There is a certain Reverand that loooovvvvvessssssss to holler "rascist" at every turn. Yet in my opinion, he is the one that is keeping racisim in this country alive...
Just my opinion

Why do women get cold feet?
Posted:
4/3/2008 10:33:45 AM
Here's a cold feet story........ Yes I am the one that got cold feet. (but I didn't just stand him up)
I had met someone through another dating site. We emailed and then talked on the phone for a few weeks. We decided it was time to meet and he suggested that I just come to his lake house and spend the weekend. I'd have my own room, etc etc...
At first I agreed cause it sounded like fun and I really needed to "get away". But the more I thought about it, the more my gut kept telling me not to go. So I called him and let him know that I wouldn't be able to make it and I explained that I would rather just meet in a neutral spot. HE GOT FURIOUS! Told me that I shouldn't be on a dating site if I didn't want to date.. I finally just told him that obviously we weren't a match anyway.
My gut usually doesn't lie about things and after the way he reacted, I knew I had done the right thing.
As far as the lady standing you up, like others have said, some people are just that way, but don't hold it against everyone. Some of us ladies are just a little over cautious. (in my case it proved for the best). Just keep on fishin and you make that great catch!

Songs for American Idol - a Little More Dirty?

I myself liked the Beatles genre they did but two weeks in a row kinda messed it up. Also, you have to remember they have to be able to cut a song down to one and a half minutes and the good headbangin songs tend to be 5 to 6 min long

I've been gone from there for over 11 years, but anvilghost could probably give you more help than I could.
There was a guy on here at one time "wolfie" is what we all called him that was from that area that would have been able to give you the best places.
I know that the area around Lake Joy (outside of WR) is growing really fast and my father lives in that neck of the woods and it's really a nice place to live. Go online to one of the realtors and look in the area or maybe call a local realtor.
My daughter's father also live up there and is coming down this weekend to pick her up. I'll ask him what he thinks.

IMO if it's a woman looking for adventurous, I'm thinking it could always mean that she wants somone who wants to go on an outing (beach, mountains, etc) at the spur of the moment or possibly willing to try something new (not sexually)

I agree, takes care of herself has so many meanings........ I interpret them as "doesn't have to have a man to support her" (NOW WAIT TILL I FINISH.........) But would love to have one in her life if things work that way. It also means to me that she knows how to handle herself in most situations.

We have already been told that we have to be there.
