Door County Wisconsin
Posted: 4/9/2009 3:27:32 PM
Door County is my favorite destination for vacation or a get away weekend. Whatever you want it's got. Great scenery. Great food. The water. The forests. Wineries. Fish boils. I especailly like it up bythe Fish Creek and Ephraim areas, but anywhere up and down the pininsula is ok by me. If you do get up there you've got to try the fish boil at the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek. In the almost 30 years I've been going up there it's my favorite.

Frugal Meals Question?
Posted: 4/9/2009 3:16:54 PM
Hey any leftovers go nicely in there. I usually make a big pot of soup. When I reheat some I can and anything from veggies to some of the leftover chicken or beef. If you go out and bring home a doggie bag (does the dog ever really get any of that? )
just toss some in and enjoy. I usually grab the dinner rolls too, especially if they're bagels or bialis.

Best Pizza Place in Your Hometown
Posted: 2/9/2009 12:39:20 PM
A little place about 25-30 west of Chicago (the best pizza town in the world) is a place called Zippy's located in Hoffman Estates,IL. While it claims to be the home of the cheezy beef, for me it's the home of Chicagoland's best pizza. I now live about 55 miles from there and have driven there just to get a cheese, sausage, and mushroom with medium crust and extra sauce. God, I've got myself drooling. Looks like it's time for a road trip!

whatever Minestrone soup you make, don't forget the crusty bread to go along. Don't want to miss one single drop especially during these long, cold winters. Oh, and don't forget to sprinkle a little grated cheese on top....whatever you like or have on hand , but for me romano or parmasean works best!

creamed potatoes and peas
Posted: 2/3/2009 2:59:31 PM
When I was a kid my grandma used to make what she called creamed potatoes and peas. I've tried to duplicate this and have never succeeded. It's potatoes that are cramier than mashed with peas in it. Not sure what else she put in them, but like I said I've never come close to taste or consistency. Grams not around to ask about this one so hopefully some one has this recipe. My family were Iowa farmers and used to have this at a lot of meals. Sadly they've all gone with Gram so I'm relying on you guys to come through for me. Thanks in advance .

Hot bacon dressing
Posted: 2/3/2009 12:14:05 PM
Hey thanks to one and all. I'm going to try each and every one on here. My blood has been flowing way too fast through my veins and these should help to cure that! I'll post a response in a few days and let you all know my take on these.

And as far as it not being just for salads. I've had the dressing poured over pan fried pork chops at a diner on the south side of Chicago. It was years ago and I don't remember exactly where it was, but OMG was that good !

The loss of a pet
Posted: 2/2/2009 1:05:13 PM
To everyone that has lost a pet. I feel your pain. I'd like to give you my story on how I coped with the loss of my Dalmation, Darby back in 2001. I had to put her down because of deterioration of her spine due to arthritis. Had her for almost 13 years and I wasn't ready for another dog yet, but needed a doggie "fix". My solution was to volunteer at a local animal shelter walking their dogs. I was hooked from my first dog, a Corgi with a deformed hind leg. He had the heart and energy of a Rottie and loved everyone.

I had taken my Dalmation through obedience training and used what I learned there to train the "rough" cases at the shelter. No better feeling than seeing a dog that came in very rough leaving with it's new family.

Well, it's been eight years and hundreds of dogs later and Istill get excited each and every time I go to the shclter. Oh, by the way, back in 2004 a Dalmation/Whippet mix named Sammie adopted me. She doesn't mind that I still go there and help out her friends to find their new families. Talk about your win-win scenarios!

Does anyone have a favorite hot bacon dressing recipe. Love this stuff, but the recipes I have are way too sweet. I've had this at quite a few restaurants and the ones with great tasting dressing won't give out their secret (what a shock !). Does anyone have a really killer recipe to share.

steam them with a bottle of beer.
while it's steaming add about four cloves of garlic diced
along with a little salt and pepper to taste.

when most of the beer has evaporated off drizzle in some honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds just before serving

I use this one with pork and chicken mainly

Woman that talk dirty during sex ?
Posted: 1/21/2009 10:28:24 AM
Dirty talk can always take me and my gf to the next level....even when we didn't know there was a next level. This is especially true because we are like the nicest, caring, most polite people in the world to each other. But once we're in the bedroom (I've got to admit sometimes we don't even make it that far) and the barriers come down....all of the barriers come down. To borrow a phrase from Lea Thompson "We're two slam hounds from hell"! and we're howling at the moon.

Occasional Crying with an Orgasm...

The first time it ever happened I thought she was hurt. Then she explained she just had the most intense sexual experience of her life. And there I was trying to figure out what the hell I had just done to get this response....no rhyme or reason. It just happens from time to time...go figure. No wonder the guys are the dumber of the two when it comes to sex. How can we become marksmen when the target keeps moving and is never the same target twice in a row. Anyway it's fun trying!

men disapproving of toys as addition in lovemaking
Posted: 1/19/2009 12:49:40 PM
Oh what a difference a toy can make....as long as it doesn't replace me. LOL Seriously though, I can't even begin to tell you how enhanced our times together are when a toy is brought into play. They add a dimension that wasn't there before. Not to mention how, once certain barriers are brought down, conversation flows and even more suggestions are brought to the serface. TOYS ? I'm al for them so count me in. Of course like they say in the commercials "Ain't nothing like the real thing, baby". But my oh my how those toys do help !

Women's Sustenance and Men Done In Moments
Posted: 1/17/2009 11:48:13 AM
First things first. Men are idiots. We think we know things, but we don't really KNOW them until our women tell us what's what. And this is especially true with the female body. You don't come with a manual so feel free to talk to us and let us know the specifics of your model. Yes each and everyone of you is different and your react differently on different occaisons so give us a break and guide us along. I believe, contrary to public opinion, most guys out there are more interested in pleasing than in being pleased. Ever notice how proud we are when we learn a new trick? Much like puppies, we may not get it the first time so be patient. Fair, firm, and consistent is the way to go to get the results you're looking for. And feel free to dish out the "atta boys" so we know when we've learned it.

Fell asleep during sex
Posted: 12/1/2008 1:33:06 PM
I once fell asleep while giving oral (I'd been up for over 24 hours but didn't want to cancel the date). She said she was embarassed and didn't want to move. She got a cramp and nearly tore my head off trying to get into a comfortable position. Rest assured I never got myself in that situation ever again.

Does anyone make LOVE anymore?????
Posted: 11/25/2008 11:06:53 AM
Well Michaela,
As they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder....so is everyone's idea of making love. To me making love is all about paying attention to the three phases... before, during, and after. Before starts as early as when you're getting ready to go out. Paying attention to the little details for your SO. Yes it's part of foreplay. As my GF says foreplay starts hours and hours before we get to bed. Now for the during. Talking is important here. I know some people say that when you're making love you're so in tune with each other that words aren't necessary to get you to the promised land. But, seeing as each and evcrytime is different and each person is different from day to day, words are a must. And no I'm not necessarily talking about "dirty" talk, but that could be part of it.

Now for the after part. For me the most important part of love making. It's when we're most comfortable and conversation can be their most honest. Intimacy is the word that comes to mind here. A closeness that can't be faked or duplicated. Also, this needs to be said. Even the gorilla sex thing is making love because making love takes place in the heart and in the head. I think the biggest mistake people make is getting physical too soon. If they took their time to get to know each other before then things will click easier. Just an old fools thought here.

Posted: 11/5/2008 1:07:36 PM
the starting part can be anything from saying you'd like to have sex to a back rub to just a look. as far as the dirty talk...it works like crazy for both me and my gf. Could work the other way too and be more "g" rated and still get the idea across. No hard and fast rules. We go with the flow and enjoy the hell out of the time we get to spend together.

once trust is lost can it be won back?
Posted: 11/3/2008 12:54:41 PM
I'm the bf in question here. Here's the total scenario. She said she didn't receive an email I'd sent to her so I logged on her computer and brought up the email so she coud read the joke. She was looking at the screen the whole time. I've really nothing to hide.
When she was done I logged out forgetting that I have auto login so when she went on line the next morning my email came up. Once she recognized it was my email she should have logged out. Says she did, but then questioned me about other emails and files. Some new emails that I never opened had been opened. That's where the mistrust issue arises.

Two things of note here besides the point that I believe in privacy.

1. If it had happened to me, I would have logged off as soon as I realized it.

2. It's the opened emails and files that really rubbed me the wrong way.

Final note: We are talking and beginning to work our way through this. For me trust is a big issue and if she had asked to see my emails I would have let her. I just feel like I was wronged. But, like I said, we are talking and everything begins there. Wish us luck.

How did you learn to cook?
Posted: 10/18/2008 1:14:50 PM
Growing up in an Italian family (even though mom wasn't Italian) when mom cooked on Saturdays and Sundays we (my brother, sister, and I) were all in the kitchen helping and learning. So now I can cook just about anything including my own spaghetti gravy ( we don't say sauce) . I own about 200 cook books even if I don't follow them they do give me some ideas and directions to go in anything I do cook.

Ciao! Tom

Absolutely, without a doubt the animal stays. I always honor my commitments and I made one with my dog when I adopted her that I'd have her for her life. She's not disposable and never will be. Luckily I've found some one who accepted my Sammie, but if she hadn't I'm afraid I'd moved on. Sammie and I are package deal. I'd make that clear from the get go.

Hottest Movie Scenes
Posted: 10/11/2008 1:01:06 PM
I really don't remember the name of the movie (if anyone does please let me know), but Teri Hatcher is on a bed on her hands and knees and she looks over her shoulder and tells the guy "You can do anything you want to me". I first saw this sceen about 25 years ago and I've played it over and over in my mind ever since. Definitely the Hottest Movie Scene for me.

For me it the best. Both partners can control so much. It's sexy as hell. Easily lends itself to be either the final position just one of many. I especially like it when my girl rides me as much as I am her. And as far as the myth goes...there's nothing sexier than when she looks back at you while she's getting off!

Posted: 8/25/2008 10:57:05 AM
Not sure about other guys even though my friends and I talk about this, but to us the thrid date rule applies as to whether or not you'll continue to see some one and not about sex. Unless it's an extreme case, I ususally date some one at least twice before I make a determination. Anyone can have a bad day so if the first date was an iffy one I'd give them a second. Happily I don't have to do that anymore because I found a super keeper on here.

Secondly, I'm having my nme legally changed to Tat!
