how many ppl really vote?

dont vote,it only encourages them!

It could be said that voting not only encourages politicians, but also encourages the voters to believe their votes actually matter under FPP

Doubtless the public will be offered the usual rabble of 'wondrous' parties offering all and sundry everything in the General Election predicted for sometime November-ish.

forced the German leader to step down and then Hitler claimed his place.

Doubt though people will be seeing 'Das National Socialists' on ze ballot papers zis year.

paedophilia...is it a mental illness?

M71:

The last attempt on Huntley’s life was that of 6ft 8ins Richard Andrews — nicknamed Tiny.
Who feed him a large stash of painkillers.

fed him a large stash? sounds grim and intimidating!!, especially as the 'verification quote' lifted from an article in the Sun as provided in M71 states this:

EVIL Ian Huntley was slipped the pills for his failed suicide bid by a 22-stone sex fiend who growled: “Do us all a favour.”
The Soham monster was handed a large stash of powerful co-codamol painkillers by 6ft 8ins Richard Andrews — nicknamed Tiny.
According to a jail source Andrews urged the double child killer: “Go on, take them all. Do us all a favour.”

So, M71 informs us that 'Tiny' force-fed Huntley the tablets, whereas the very same article goes on to state:
According to a jail source Andrews urged the double child killer: “Go on, take them all. Do us all a favour.”

Huntley, 33, is thought to have hidden the pills — a mixture of paracetamol and codeine — in his mouth before downing them.

But he copped out and told a warder at Yorkshire’s top-security Wakefield Jail: “I’ve taken an overdose.”

As he was stretchered to hospital, Andrews’ sentiments were echoed by other lags who loathe Huntley.
------
Which begs two observations on discrepancies.....how can someone force-feeding Huntley pills not know the pills are hidden in his mouth and why would a force-fed Huntley partake in a ruse of 'thinking they are hidden in his mouth'??
Oh...and the fact that he 'copped out' kinda indicates no force-feeding occurred.
:
Best to wait for official confirmation methinks.

Until then............ the last person to make an attempt on Huntleys life was Ian Huntley.

Under the current FPP system, well over 90% of people are not actually voting for any party or candidate.

They are essentially just cancelling out the vote of the 'guy next door'.

Electorate of approx 30 million...only 100,000 or so actually matter.

The rest of those 29.9 million 'votes' may as well be shoved in the bin as "election confetti"...cos thats all they are.

paedophilia...is it a mental illness?
Posted: 10/4/2007 6:41:55 AM
Most people are fully aware of Self-Preservation Rule #1:. "You can insult the man, but you never insult the mans wife or his children".

Cross that line in society, and especially regarding his children, and the punters days are usually unhappy days.

Most members of society these days take the view that consenting adults can do what they want behind closed curtains, and if two adult gay geezers wanna 'do their thang' as consenting adults...let em get on with it.

Paedos however are going right across that line in society...waay too far, and any bloke who kills a paedo who has raped/molested/abducted or killed his child would probably get a fookin medal and stroll out of court within 20 minutes.

I've always felt sympathy for the parents of the children murdered by Brady & Hindley.... years ofconstant reminders via the press and other media of their loss, and no doubt the Huntley situation is going the same way...30/40 years of hearing about the git who murdered their children.

Either hang 'em or impose a complete media blackout.
Less pain for the parents as they rebuild their lives.

You have repeatedly said that Huntley is in Belmarsh which was wrong

And repeatedly said that Huntley has internet access, which is also wrong.
Furthermore a swift peek at the My-space account of fellow notorious Wakefield prison inmate Charles Bronson kinda spells it out nicely:

OK people, this is NOT Charlie Bronson here. Unfortunately, Chaz doesn't have access to the internet from his solitary cell in HMP Wakefield. I'm Mal; I run Charlie's website and am deeply involved in the campaign to get him out of prison...etc etc etc etc....

The nations' women can therefore be reassured that Huntley won't be wooing the ladies on POF

homosexuality has become more socially acceptable and is now, i would argue, part of the main stream of daily life

Homosexuality usually involves two adult gay geezers both consenting.....Paedophilia doesn't and will never be socially acceptable.

If the dopey bint tops herself, tears should be shed for the children, not an irresponsible junkie alcholic "mother"

Maybe shed a few tears of despair for her misguided 'supporters' who advocate putting children at risk

get annoyed with women when they dont vote, women died to give us that right!!!

It is a common myth that women died to give women the vote.
There is only ONE recorded incident of a WOMAN dying in pursuit of the cause to give women the franchise/vote.
Not several women...not multiple women....ONE woman...the horse at the Derby incident.
Therefore M22 is also incorrect in agreeing with the perpetuation of this myth.

An on-topic post removed regarding UFOs on a UFO thread which mentions no user names, user location, or any clue whatsoever of the identity of the 'complainant' violation reporter'.

Is this a new precedent for POF? removal of postings which may refer to something on 10 million peoples profiles?? Forum debate is effectively dead if this principle is applied.

How many member profiles have references to UFOs, extra-terrestial stuff or the 'paranormal' on their profiles? Are members expected to 'do a search' before posting a comment in order to avoid post deletion???

Is this a Violation Report Thread or a Paranoia Report Thread??

Aye that may well be true enough but my rough calculations estimate that there are approx 15,000 (or more) punters on this massive user-base website alone who might have a touch of the old Queralants pencilled in for em!!

Last thing yer need on a dating site is a swift blast of the queralants when yer looking for a woman...or even worse...get grief off some poor soul suffering this shocker!!

Punter believes (wrongly) that they are being picked on, or threatened by someone/something else.

M61:

Correct, UK law allows a parent to smack a child.

Uk law also allows a parent to hand out other forms of punishments as the parent see's fit.

Parents can continue to chastise their offspring in a reasonable manner.

Including sending a naughty child to bed without dinner on occasion, as that isn't abuse either.

But this is a thread about sending naughty children to bed.

Thread: Bed without dinner!

Thread Title.

what are your thoughts on sending your kids to bed without dinner?

OP Question.
M54:

So hit/smack/beat/belt your child, the law states only a mild smack can be used.

Thread Hijacking
M53:

it has no relavance at all as the points in question have been UK law and smacking/slapping ect

M51:

sending a naughty child to bed without dinner every once in a while is neither child abuse nor neglect

Therefore to hit smack/slap a child as a parent is allowed by law as long as the law is complied with and is not classed as abuse.

Correct

Therefore the reply to M48...ie M49:

Maybe the case

Is Wrong. There is no 'maybe' about it.

And sending a naughty child to bed without dinner every once in a while is neither child abuse nor neglect

Swearing, cursing and blaspheming at ones' minions and lowly underlings is the mark of a weak and feeble Workmaster and distributor of the grain. No need for such verbal sewage.

Workplace harmony is assured by all knowing their place and the boundaries of acceptable behaviour and conduct.

Unsettled lippy gobshite simpletons are disruptive both to the workplace and the workforce, and should be fired on the spot the minute the 'effing and jeffing' begins.

Jocular p---ass artists rolling home from the boozer and concocting some old alien yarn 'for a laugh'

M50:

So The Sunday Sport got it wrong, and somebodies son didn’t get turned into a fish finger by UFO’s?

I understand that the Sunday Sport newspaper is infamous for silly headlines and such headlines are not to be taken seriously or become overly-worried about.

I seem to recall some nonsense about a WWII bomber being found on the moon. I doubt that a bomber would qualify as 'unidentified' since Lancaster bombers are fairly well known.

Fish Famine Panic Merchants can safely reduce their medication levels, as the Marine Stewardship Council are on the case

A veritable ocean of fish preserving initiatives can be found on their authorative website:

Here's another initiative

Fish & Kids is a project of the Marine Stewardship Council, designed to bring sustainable seafood sourcing to schools and restaurants. Children can learn about marine environmental issues and sustainable fishing with fun activities in the classroom and on the website.

CHILD SAFETY: Microchips & Children.
Posted: 9/27/2007 5:28:49 PM
Given that dozens of murders and abductions have been prevented in recent years merely by the child carrying a mobile phone, and also that many parents buy their children mobile phones to ease safety and security worries, it seems most parents are in favour of micro-chipping their children.

Research by nVision, the online database of the think tank Future Foundation, found that 75% of British parents would buy a device to trace their child's movements

http://www.wanttoknow.info/microchipimplants

I doubt the other 25% could rest easy knowing they have not everything they could to help protect and locate their child should, god forbid, the worst happened.

Micro-chipping children is clearly the way ahead.

Such chips = dangerous,

I'd imagine that sadly, child abduction and potential murder is even more dangerous, and responsible parents would not be prepared to run such a risk.

Water Meters, pros/cons??
Posted: 9/27/2007 8:23:26 AM

the amount of drinking water they WASTE on their garden (and it's only flowers - so not even edible!!) just because they will not fit water butts

Constantly amazes me why people will pay good money to waste water when water butts, drainage, collection troughs and suchlike will provide as much suitable water as folk require…for free!!

Some sporting venues have already wised up to the free collection of nutrient-rich water.
Elland Rd, for example has a collection trough which provides gallons of the ‘stuff’ as the away supporters p--- themselves laughing at the white-shirted fairies prancing about failing to stop another goalfest hammering!!

quote]I imagine there are a few people on here for the wrong reasons but in my opinion they are far and few between. The people who do the "player" and "timewaster" labelling seem to do it as a result of someone they have met not wanting to carry on the relationship. They are the ones with the problem.

Can't argue with that.

Also presumably if someone has spent weeks chatting online and the phone, they'd have more interest in trying to make a relationship work, given the fact they've already invested so much time and effort in it.

DNA taken from birth?
Posted: 9/26/2007 10:17:50 AM
A swift explanation of human reproduction and paternity fraud for those unable to grasp the concept of the latter, and a jolly good reason for mandatory DNA testing at birth and confirmation of parentage:

For every 1 child...there is 1 mummy and 1 daddy.

If daddy is raising someone elses child as his own, that means two men are being decieved.

Therefore, my previous statement is a tad more than obvious to anyone but a thicko:

men are either raising some other guys child 'as their own' or are clueless as to the fact that they are fathers
ffs

In an age of 'nothing to hide nothing to fear'...the only people who need to worry about DNA testing and taking at birth are those who commit sex crimes or other crimes...of which paternity fraud is but one of many.

Maybe i'm tired or sommit, but where did the OTHER 30% come from???

HTH

Nah it's easy to understand innit ?

M7:

Can you provide proper statistics to back up this ridiculous claims..
and not from www.ihatewomen.com

straight from wwwihatelogic.com

Parentage Testing Program Unit - 1999 study by the American Association of Blood Banks that found that in 30 percent of 280,000 blood tests performed to determine paternity, the man tested was not the biological father.

http://www.australianpaternityfraud.org/statistics.htm

Now....30 percent...aint the father....30% would've been tagged as the father

30+30=60

'nearly 50%'...is in fact, erring on the generous side innit.

If men wish to worry about pervos going on the rampage in John O'Groats...so be it....logic kinda tells men they'd be more interested in knowing they are fathering their own child.

Would this eventually put an end to sex crimes?

It would also put an end to Paternity Fraud.

Given that nearly 50% of men are either raising some other guys child 'as their own' or are clueless as to the fact that they are fathers, most men might just prefer the tiny reassurance that the child is theirs rather than worry about getting 'rounded up' for a sex crime spree in John O'Groats.

CHILD SAFETY: Microchips & Children.
Posted: 9/26/2007 7:54:01 AM
Many parents are becomingly increasingly interested in this technology, and are seriously concerned about protecting their children from child abduction:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/2231634.stm

Parents afraid that their daughters could be abducted are asking a British scientist to implant a tracking microchip under their skin, so that they can be found quickly.
Cybernetics expert Kevin Warwick said he had received requests for the procedure from "a number of families".

Mr Warwick said the system could work by using a mobile phone network or global positioning system, to pinpoint the person on an electronic map via a signal from the implant.

The procedure would involve putting a small transmitter about one inch long into a child's arm or stomach.

"A potential abductor wouldn't know the child had the device" , the Reading University academic said.

CHILD SAFETY: Microchips & Children.
Posted: 9/26/2007 7:16:01 AM
Given the recent tragic 'Maddy' incident which has highlighted parents growing fears and worries over child safety and protection, if your child could wear an implant – a microchip that could tell a computer where he or she was at any time to within a few metres......why not???

After all most people microchip their dogs and , most pet owners have embraced a more high-tech form of identification: the microchip. The chip - which carries an identification number unique to each dog - is held inside a tiny glass vial, about the size of a rice grain, which is implanted under the skin on the back of a dog's neck. This is usually done by a vet as a quick, painless injection. Anyone with a scanner should then be able to read the chip and access the owner's details from a central database.

Extend that to 'trackable' and security is guaranteed.

Do parents feel that inserting a tracking device into their child's arm will help keep their child safe whilst giving them peace of mind??

Parents regard their childs life as more precious than that of an dog, so why not protect their children?

Would you microchip your child??

Querulant delusions, are when a person believes (wrongly) that they are being picked on, or threatened by someone/something else.
This can be someone familiar to them (e.g. a family member), someone in the media (e.g. a film star), an organisation (e.g. the CIA), or even aliens.

Aliens!! FFS...those little green men in pointy hats get around don't they?!!

Queralants on the horizon?? Fone yer shrink pronto
