Just a tiny correction:
There is not uniform EU culture. The cultures in Europe can differ from one another like night and day. You can find differences even inside one country.
I concur although I was referring to most of the EU cultures with the exceptions of the largely Muslim countries and cultures.
Apologies for any misunderstandings.

I am surprised at the negativity from some regarding the Eastern European woman and the defensiveness of some Non EU women.
I am appaled by the insults towards western women and that was not the point of the thread, it was an invitation to discuss the differences in culture and relationship expectations.
My own view is that I would choose an EU woman every time and not because I dislike Western women, I just find the culture of EU and the inner beauty (my opinion) of EU women alluring and irresistable.

I find that women from the South end of my street are generally much friendlier than the women from the North end. There's just something about those railroad tracks...
Can you be more specific, is that the ladies on the West side of the North or the East side of the south?

I wish there were more responses to this from the men as I've always been curious. I'm now on disability retirement after fighting it for over a decade, one medical problem after another but I can tell you that I don't let it get in my way, just the opposite and those who meet me have no clue that I am unless they hear someone close to me asking me about it or discussing it. Granted her disability is visible but your sister sounds beautiful and I hope she doesn't think that all men only want to date women that can run, I never heard of that. There are lots of men that are the lay back type that enjoy just hanging out with family, friends, good bbq, all kinds of stuff. Tell your sister to keep her head up, stay positive - people are attracted to those with much confidence =)
Brilliant quote on your profile, power to you!

Futhermore, most women I know tend to lack greediness - and are interested in simple things : more interested in a weekend camping rather than checking out the latest SUVs for sale.
This is correct, my ex and I were not on the breadline and could have enjoyed any activity we wished.
Her favourite weekend activity was picking mushrooms followed by a picnic and then a trip home, stopping at every beauty spot on the way.
The following day was a celebration of home made soups.
High maintenance?? I dont think so.

[quoteMy experiences do not seem to fit into a lot of the generalizations I’m reading here. So I’m going to stir the soup a little. :)
I dont think you arte stiring the soup at all, I think you make very valid points although, and I do understand, it is hard, if not impossible, to find the correct adjectives!
I suppose that a Western man/eastern woman where the man believes the woman has the choice as towhether to work or not is the ideal, as it was in my case.
Yur EE man came from a culture that needed both partners to work to survive so perhaps that was a throwback, does not mean he was bad.
It is indeed that 'connection' that we cannot fully articulate.

OP, I agree with you entirely. Someone, in answer to your post stated that Eastern European women have not been corrupted by feminism. That's absolutely wrong. Fact of the matter is that they have not been corrupted by commercialism and the mindset that the world owes them something.
A somewhat jaundiced view but, sadly, accurate.

Maybe someone can help me out...Perhaps American Women get a bad rap here in America. What is the rest of the world’s opinion of "American/American-ized" Women?
My own never humble opinion is that "Americanised" ladies, to quote you, are, in some respects, more materialistic and not as feminine. A generalisation that does NOT apply to everyone of course.
I also find them less romantic and more prone to "wander." Just my experience, no more than that.

Old-fashioned? Uh...no. Subservient in any way? Uh...no. Delighted in the 'traditional' roles? Uh... obviously not.
Oddly, I know many eastern european women, as they tend to make excellent staff and management the industries I've worked in. Stay-at-home, take-care-of-their man women? Uh... no. Professional, courteous, hard-working and intelligent? Yes.
I agree, I do not find then subserviant or shrinking violets, they are strong in a way that is endearing, they are practical, focused, well educated and very feminine despite their strengths.
Again a generalisation but, based on experience so relevant.
I still do not feel like I can find the match of inner beauty and strength in any other culture.
Perhaps I dont want to, who knows?!

A woman has to ASK for his help to do anything physical. [western male]
He is always there and just DOES it. [ Euro Male]
European men still treat a woman as a woman, not some androgynous creature. As such a woman is free to be feminine.
An excellent reponse, even in Europe we are appaled/shocked/amused by some of the USA 'antics' in relationships.
Whilst they may not be the norm, programmes that come across the ocean such as Judge Judy, where ex partners not only sue each other for pennies but appear to keep restaurant bills etc for years on the off-chance that the relationship ends and they can claim their money back, we find unreal.
For whatever reason the Western man and woman is totally obsessed with the fiscls and seems to forget the love and cherish aspect.
I have not found that in Eastern European women, nor do I believe the majority are just seeking a passport. The Eastern European man does indeed play around and it appears the women have had enough ond want monogamy from a relationship as part of the respect.

So, why is it so many men are opting for the Eastern European woman rather than a Western partner?
For me (having been with a Russian woman for 9 years) the answer is transparent.
Despite the many rumblings of con artists, scammers etc (of which there are a few) Eastern European women have relationship values that appear to have been lost in the West.
My ex, and many of her friends, expect, nay, demand, that a man be a man and a woman be a woman, in the 'old fashioned way', that is opening doors, bringing home the bacon etc. In return they offer a faithful, passionate partner that will always, whatever the circumstances, support and love their partner.
Difficult to define completely in a short thread but, the fact is they are more 'feminine' in the accepted sense with no issues regarding roles or finance that has made us Westerners more 'practical'.
Lots of apostrophis there as I am uncertain of the exact phrase to use and make my points lucidly and without insulting or taking issue with anyone but me question is:
Do you have experience of Eastern European women and what is your view?
Frankly, I am more interested in ladies from this part of the World than anywhere else regardless of looks, size etc, the character is so strong yet totally woman.
Why is she my ex?? She needed to be a mother and I cannot give her children. We are still good mates and her husband is a really good friend too.
What do you think and what are your experiences??
Thread is NOT intended as a negative towards Western women, its merely a view based on my experiences and, I believe, a reflection on our fiscally aware culture.

QUESTION...has anybody with long experiance recieved better responces after having profile reviewed?
Posted:
11/6/2006 5:55:13 AM
My opinion is that it is better to be humorous and design your profile to grab attention, for whatever reason.
Mine is tongue in cheek and can appear arrogant but, I get a lot of emails from ladies with a sense of humour and even those that just want to tear me off a tad!
Profile reviews dont work because they are not YOU.
Just be non serious, non desperate and have some fun.
Thats my take on it.
FYI, i wa on an adult web for 16 months and became top of the 'popular' lists for male bloggers, which included the USA members. All I did was create a blog profile that was in your face and hard hitting with humour.
Left through boredom...
Did I gat laid or meet anyone??
I met a lot of great people, whether I got laid or not is not something I would talk about!
Take care

Russian women with US citizenship
Posted:
11/5/2006 2:08:59 PM
No....this thread is not Racist. The Author is simply pointing out an observation he has made and is attempting to get other peoples opinion before he writes his belief in concrete. If he was racist he would have not asked any questions. He would have simply said to himself that Russian Women are golddigers. Fianancial status has lots to do with relationships. That doesnt mean everyone is a gold digger but everyone does have certain expectations.
Let me give you a few examples. Would you date a homeless person without a dime to their name? Probably not.
When my wife (x-wife now) and I first got together, she NEEDED me financially....for a place to stay etc....but that never crossed my mind because I was naive. I was in love and didnt want to lose that. 2 1/2 years later all my credit cards are maxed out and I cant keep her happy. She leaves me for my best friend. I'm not saying money is the only reason, but its definatly a factor. Almost subconcious. When its conscious then we call them golddiggers. My x-wife would say it had nothing to do with money, and she would believe herself. Its a background effect...she wasnt ok with other things and then when the money ran out it was even easier for her to move on.
Incorrect, he is making conclusions based on his own so called experiences.
I would suggst he is racist. If a KKK member said that in his opinion all non whites were gold diggers, that would be racist. This thread is no differnt to that.
Would I dat a homeless and destitute woman? Chances of me meeting one are slim but, I hope I would not be so shallow as to judge heer on what she has not got. The least I would do is find out the why's before dismissing her.
Your observations appear to be tainted by your former relationship.
Understandable but, not correct.
Take care

Russian women with US citizenship
Posted:
11/5/2006 10:49:02 AM
I have had several relationships with Russian women who used their 1st husbands for citizenship. Those guys appear to be big fools, but I would assume that there are probably some relationships that worked out. The Russian women I dated had citizenship thanks to husband #1 and were looking for husband #2 to get them bigger and better things. They want to get from point A to point B in the quickest time. My experiences have been that they are very manipulative and for all practical purposes just gold-digging. They don't look you in the eye when talking with you. They will always expect the guy to foot the bill...which is OK with me, but most American women will at least treat their boyfriends for a lunch once in a while.
On the other hand they can appear to be very passionate and loving, but it's not sincere. I figure the fact that they married husband #1 just for citizenship is basically a form of prostitution, and once they enter that arena there is probably no turning back.
My advice is PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
That's my 2 cents.
What a complete and utter prat!
My ex is a Russian woman and is certainly no gold digger. I know (although my dating experiences appear to be not as indiscriminate as yours) very many Russian females and they are NO DIFFERENT from any other woman in the world.
Culture is different, certainly but, you cannot generalise in such an insulting way with absolutely no knowledge worth having.
My suggestion is you delete this thread completely, it is inappropriate and racist.
If you had said the same thing about women who are non white you would, potentially, be in breach of the law.
Get off your supercilous horse and bow your head in shame.

Here's a fact you may be interested in. Lots of people won't date someone separated. Funny, a prick, whatever. Do a thread search and read all the pages of threads why people don't choose to date those who are separated. I only point this out as it will affect your responses. You can accept it, gripe about it or fight it, just thought you might want to know.
Thank you, I have done a little research and on balance decided to be totally honest rather than add to the untruths on the site.
If anyone is interested enough to ask the reasons and why not divorced etc. then I will tell them. Anyone who is dismissive without knowing the whole truth is probably not someone I would be interested in anyway.
Great feedback, thanks again.
