Style over substance in Hollywood
Posted:

For true style this fall, we will have to thank stop animation.
Wallace and Gromit movie, and the Corpse Bride how can you go wrong.
Lastly, Donnie Darko is the $hit but if you get a chance check out the directors cut it has the philosophy of time travel built in to the movie.

Pot: A gateway drug?
Posted:
5/2/2005 5:24:07 PM
I agree that alcohol would be much more of a gateway drug. I have done a few more drugs than I would like to admit, 99.9% of them were done when I was drunk. But, when I am just stoned I am much more content to just be stoned. So, take that for what it is worth.

Did John Paul II help you learn to get old with grace?
Posted:
4/5/2005 2:27:44 AM
This pope taught us more about growing old with patience, mercy and understanding. He was called the "people's pope" for a reason. He was liberal enough to inspire all faiths around the world and yet conservative enough to be the voice of the Catholic church. He did have resources at his command that the common man does not have, but, in most respects he controled more power, respect, and dignity than any world leader has today. And, as a priest, pope, pontif, whatever held more influence towards pratical peace than any other world leader uses today. So, yes he did grow old in grace, mercy, love, tolerance, respect, faith, hope, and wisdom. It is easy to become jaded in our day and age and think the worst of everybody, but, this leader was a great man who will have a great legacy.

You Know,
most of the cool dates I've had have been from "coffee dates" I would rather chat with women before I become romantic or sexual. Sometimes I think that makes me some sort of freak. But, most of the time it helps me feel more normal. Never, knock "coffee dates" they are the proving ground of intamacy.

A Question for the Atheists
Posted:
3/28/2005 3:12:27 AM
To say that religion was put about to apply an ethics standard is understandable. The thing this theory misses though is that many faiths have a very mystical side to them. I could go through all of them right now but, I trust that most people in these forums are educated enough to know about gnosticism, ect...My main question is What is the athestic stance on supernatural occurances? I hope this post wasn't to convoluted and my post came across.
