Mothers paying child support, am I missing something?
Posted: 12/10/2008 12:29:07 PM
I really have a problem with women who do not want to pay child support when the father's have custody. I pay my ex child support (the full percentage of what any parent would have to pay in my state). My kids choose to live with their dad because they did not want to change schools. It is my obligation as a parent to support my children. I even pay half of things that are not included in the divorce decree (like half of whatever activities my kids were involved with at the time). I do it for my children!

Books versus Movies
Posted: 12/10/2008 11:26:02 AM
The Green Mile, A Time to Kill and Shawshank Redeemption are good adaptions.

I will second the person who said Ghost was a terrible adaption, along with Congo.

There are several Jeffrey Deaver books that I would like to see made into movies - The Coffin Dancer is one. There is also a religious book I recently read called The Shack that I would consider.

My boyfriend broke up with me by email
Posted: 12/10/2008 9:02:35 AM
I had that happen to me in my last serious relationship. I had been dating him for 2 1/2 years and he broke up with me by e-mail. It took me a very long time to get over him and the hurt he caused me by not having the decency to tell me to my face.

should i give her another chance

I got back with someone who had cheated on me. I had a hard time trusting the second time around. He ended up breaking up with me because he was still in love with the person he had cheated on me with.

Stand Up If You've Been Stood Up!
Posted: 10/9/2008 1:53:35 PM
I've been stood up a few times. With each of them I had spoken on the phone with them several times, made a date for specific day and never heard from them again. To me, why go through the trouble of contacting someone, talking to them almost nightly, make arrangements to meet and then not show up.

BAGGAGE??????
Posted: 4/12/2007 9:32:01 AM
With me having children would not be baggage - as being a mother myself, I would rather date someone who has kids.

Baggage to me would be an ex-wife or ex-girlfriend that would make any type of relationship a living hell. Constantly causing some type of problem in the relationship, where it would be virtually impossible to carry on a relationship.

Wierd sandwiches we ate as kids or anything else!
Posted: 4/12/2007 8:36:28 AM
My brother and I would eat ketchup sandwiches. No way I could do that today.

I will, however, eat a banana and mayo sandwich every now and again. Ate them all the time when I was a kid.

Self confidence and dating sites

Same as what parula said above me. My self confidence is not affected and this is just a means for me to meet more people.

Ladies, you have one option to choose from...which one would you choose?
Posted: 4/12/2007 6:42:40 AM
It would really depend on the type of day I had at work and whether or not I felt like going out or not. But for the most part I would pick B - it is more personal and it would make me feel like my partner really cared.

Could DIVORCE possibly be hereditary?
Posted: 4/11/2007 1:48:26 PM
My parents were divorced, but my ex's parents were still together. I was married for 15 years, which was about the same amount of time my parents were married. I got married when I was 21 - which now that I look back on it was way too young.

Both of my parents are still on their second marriages - well over 20 years now. Maybe there is hope for me that a second marriage will work out.

Would you have a relationship with a guy who's living paycheck by paycheck?
Posted: 4/10/2007 7:39:38 AM
Paycheck to paycheck does not mean the person is not planning for the future. Most people live paycheck to paycheck - because they are putting away money in their 401k's for retirement in the future, paying child support or putting away money for their children's education.

I would certainly date a man who was living paycheck to paycheck. Since my divorce, I have pretty much been in the same boat as living paycheck to paycheck - but I am still able to take vacations when I want and certainly take care of my financial responsibilities.

Would You Take Your First Love Back After 24 Years?
Posted: 4/9/2007 9:16:57 AM
My first love was 26 years ago and no I would not take him back. Mainly, because I know we are both totally different people who have nothing in common any longer and it just would not work for us.

It never hurts to get reacquainted though and see if you have something in common now.

Spooked by single (Never Married)
Posted: 3/16/2007 12:39:09 PM
I admit that I wonder why someone in their late 30's or older has never been married, but it never stops me from contacting or responding to someone I think I might be interested in meeting.

Has anyone ever been dumped via email?
Posted: 3/8/2007 9:27:03 AM
Yes, after dating someone for almost 3 years - he sent me an email breaking up with me on a day we were going to meet for lunch.
