Compliment or complete each other?
Posted: 6/20/2008 11:22:15 AM
I think a great relationship envolves 2 people who compliment each other. Why would you need someone to complete you. If you are not complete by yourself then there is no one who is going to do that for you. I believe that feeling complete is being content, happy and satisfied with who you are. It has nothing to do with a personal relationship.
I agree Bob, how boring a relationship would be if we didn't bring our own talents, thoughts, hopes and dreams into it.

You both have your own home, what do you do now?
Posted: 9/12/2007 5:34:51 PM
Get rid of it,cause I live in Florida, insurance is outrageous, and a tornado happened to find my humble abode. Home ownership is really not all its cracked up to be. You have house repairs, yard maintenance, appliance repair and maintenance. No amenities such as a pool, sauna etc unless you pay upkeep etc. You dont have the luxury of a library, or fitness centre, pool or tennis unless you pay for it. I would rather rent then own, when you figure the expense, the interest, what you paid and what you get it isnt worth. But this is just my opinion.

why cats? women love them, why?
Posted: 9/12/2007 5:17:31 PM
@rocket30,78,
i don't like cats, prefer dogs, however
i admire cats, they are independant, dont give a dang what you or anything else thinks about them. good traits. As for the kill babies in their sleep, that is mostly crap, however they have been known to eat or kill their young. another reason to admire them, i have often dreampt about killing my young, never eating though thats just ewwww. being the mother of 5 it is no wonder i have these thoughts or nightmares. god bless the cat who doesnt think but just gets down to business and basically says hey im the boss so bite me or die.

frozen eggs vs stem cell research
Posted: 8/24/2007 1:07:26 PM
Every day throughout the world (Germany is an exception) eggs are frozen by people attempting to have children. These eggs (which are perfectly healthy) when no longer required by the donor are put into a garbage dump. IMO it would be better to donate these eggs to research, for possible cures for things like parkinson's and MS.
If it is not morally right to kill a fetus than who decides if it is morally right to destroy a perfectly good egg or embyro just because it was frozen. If these unused eggs can provide a cure for a debilating diseases than why throw them out.
Doesnt make sense to me. What do you think?

Posted: 7/10/2007 12:17:55 PM
@bcby 72
I'm married and on here mostly for the forums. I have met some really nice people on here and really don't see anything wrong with that. My profile is quite specific and most of the men that email me just want to chat. My husband is also on here and he chats with alot of people also. He spends most of his time her as do I in the forums.
Don't see what the problem is with it.

Help-I need closure
Posted: 7/10/2007 12:06:54 PM
You are the one who ended it and you did it over the phone. How impersonal and insensitive especially after a year and a half. I don't blame him for not calling you back. Your closesure in my opinion was when he didn't call back. You said it was over, what do you want him to do, beg you? Obviously he has gone on with his life and you should too. If anything you need to learn from this experience and not make the same mistake again.

Can you cheat on a person you are truly in love with?
Posted: 6/27/2007 10:19:10 AM
@ Special l8

(Quote)Get some excitement back in your own marriage and quit making excuses for yourself. Tell it to your Bubbas and don't try dragging others into your gutter. That's your life and not mine. I can't help you aren't man enough to keep the sparks alive in your marriage. I don't know you and I don't ever want to. You have no right judging my beliefs just because they are not your beliefs. Not all men are like you

You have made an assumption here and made a comment about something that was not said. Just because his opinion is different than yours you assume that there are no sparks in the relationship and that the marriage is not exciting. For your information there is nothing wrong with our marriage or our sex life. He doesn't cheat and neither do I. Neither of us has a reason to do so.
You are entitled to your opinion but this is a forum and there will be people who either agree with or disagree with you. If you can't handle it when people disagree with you without jumping to conclusions about that person then maybe you shouldn't be on the forums.

Are all sex toys so shoddily and cheaply made?
Posted: 6/18/2007 8:51:22 AM
@babygrrl
Sister in law used to sell fantasia, parties are a hoot.
But (my name for it only) skippy the pink kangaroo, didnt last any longer when bought from fantasia or when bought in a sex shop.
Toys are fun for as long as they last, but from personal experience nothing beats the real thing.
Ever seen the tongue fantasia sells, looks like the tongue off the rolling stone album.
Sister in law to hubby when she setting up for party:
hubby: see we got the toys out, oh there's mick
Jan: picks up toy, turns on, says if you could do this i wouldnt need toys
Hubby exits house, gets in car, dont see for 8 hrs, party is a hoot, pics to prove it.
Either way it's all good.

Interesting question, which can have varied opionions.
As vast and unknown as the universe is, it could be a possibility. Personally I would like to thing that there is, but be a sceptic, I would have to met one to believe it.
Surely everyone that claims they have seen a UFO or been abducted can't be nuts.

Would you Canadians move to the U.S,Would you Americans move to Canada if you met someone on here?
Posted: 5/3/2007 1:37:47 PM
@LBP
So sorry you got hassled by US customs, US border guards have no sense of humor at all, and personally I can't blame them considering the mistakes they have made with letting people in over the last 7 yrs.
I am from Canada but married to an American. I took his daughter (american born) for a 7 wk visit to Canada to meet my dad and while there she broke her arm. US customs accused me of beating her until I broke her arm, and it was only after I told them to stop accusing me and ask her what happened did they finally let us both in.

Would you Canadians move to the U.S,Would you Americans move to Canada if you met someone on here?
Posted: 5/3/2007 1:29:17 PM
It is far easier for a Canadian to move to the USA, than it is for an American to move to Canada.
If any american has a traffic violation, your not allowed to enter Canada.
But Canadians can enter the USA.

This is untrue, traffic violations are irrelevant when it comes to immigration. My dad worked for immigration in Canada for almost 40 yrs. The only way this might, and I stress might be true is if the person applying got a ticket in Canada and didn't pay it. Due to the fact that this person didn't pay the ticket and were from out of the country they would be red flagged and immigration might (stress might) be denied. But that is not likely.
To visit Canada traffic violations are not considered unless there is a warrant issued by the US. Americans due however need a passport to get into Canada and return to the US as of January of this year, as do Canadians.

I don't see why you would have a problem entrusting your health to the Canadian Medical System. Having lived in both countries, I honestly believe that the Canadian system is a much better system. Americans are under the impression that it is not as good as their system. My dad has arterial scerois and has had 6 major heart attacks in the last year. He has never once had a problem getting major medical treatment. You can choose any doctor you want, your choice of doctors is not based on who your medical insurer is.

Living together before marriage a bad idea?
Posted: 4/11/2006 2:11:00 PM
IMO living together b4 marriage is a good idea. It is however no guarantee that the marriage will work. It might atleast give you some insight as to if the relationship has a chance of working.
Afterall, remember it is free to live with each other, and free to get rid of them if it doesnt work. If you are married it cost money to get rid of them, lawyers are expensive, marriage is expensive. It is an expensive commitment that is not to be taken lightly and if children are involved it gets even nastier.

Common Ground
Posted: 4/11/2006 2:02:33 PM
Interesting topic.
I think the term common ground comes into effect more with age. As I got older I got more tolerant of other people's interest. I also expect my partner to be more tolerible of me, even at my worse.
Relationships are all about compromise, you do what he wants, he does what you wants. The idea is to have a happy/fullfilling sex life, don't fight (its a waste of time), and to realize when it's time to say enough is enough.
God works in mysterious ways and he has a sense of humor. He lets us hook up with those we want to be with, and lets us make mistakes. Eventually he will hook us up with our soulmate, the trick is recognizing when he does that and learning how to make it work.
Relationships are like life, we are here for a good time not a long time, no one ever said it would be easy.

@ justmeinnc05

Ignorance is bliss my dear!!!!!! Canadians are probably the least racist people you will ever meet. If you find racism somewhere it is not even close to what is experienced in the US. My hubby works for a news station in Florida and every night there is a drug bust here or someone is shot. Murder is as common as hello/hi in the US and Canada is slowly catching up.
NOW in answer to the question.
I am Canadian, moved to America cause I met someone online. That was 3 yrs ago, its all really good. Do I miss Canada, yes? Why, cause of the crime/this includes what I call street trash, yes, yes. Cause of the people, no not really, there are good people everywhere, neither country is any different. Cause of the drugs, heck no, they are everywhere, just like stupid people are everywhere. Cause of the medical yes yes yes, american medical really sucks.
Do I like or dislike one country over the other, no!!!! I am here out of choice, and happy that I have the choice to also live in Canada. Both are wonderful countries and to live and experience the difference between the two has been a pleasure.
I will make my choice and choose Canada anytime, but both are good and its all good, afterall I'm here for a good time not a long time.

any one here who has bipolar manic depression
Posted: 3/6/2006 5:57:12 PM
@ coke
I have a friend who was diagnosed as biopolar, she has had the same job for over 25 yrs, and smokes happy plant instead of taking the meds the doc says she should. She has up and down moments, but she functions, and realizes that life and everyday living has its ups and downs. She was not diagnosed with this until the late 90's. This is just another term for depression that doctors have come up with. Until the 90's I had never heard of bipolar and it now seems that every second teenager you meet is on some sort of perscription to treat it.

Biopolar, really dont understand this term. Seems like a copout excuse for a doctor to give you a perscription and get to see you every month therefore getting a bigger paycheck.
Life is full of ups and days, heck everyday is full of ups and downs and challenges. We all have em and we all have to learn to deal with them. My ex was diagnosed as manic depressive, his problem was he was a spoiled brat who thought the world centered around him and he deserved what everyone else had. No matter how good his day/week went he always had an excuse to look like a sad little puppy.
My opinion, stop the drugs, and get on with your life, realize that life is a challenge no matter who you are, where you are, or what is happening at any given moment.

@hezron
Right on.

I have a friend in Canada who has spinal bifia. He hates the prescription drugs the doctors give him for pain. He prefers happy plant, he got busted for having happy plant, cause jealous neighbor didnt like happy plant. His doctor wrote letter to judge said happy plant better than gov drugs. Judge agreed and now he can grow 4 happy plants per year in his yard for his use. He has never liked any other drug but happy plant and does not drink gov toxic water either (alcohol for those who are duh). Gov needs to look at real problem which is not happy plant, but crack, alcohol, etc. Happy plant does not make people rob stores for a rock, or shoot innocent kids cause their neighbor owes to much for a rock. Happy plant makes people want to get together, have fun and munch, not drive around with guns and kill people. Gov wont make happy plant legal cause they cant figure out how to control it, therefore cant make money from it.
I refuse to believe that pot is a gateway drug, I know too many people who have never done anything else, including drink, but they like happy plant. Gov made up that excuse to make people think happy plant is bad.

Are pets as important as people?
Posted: 1/1/2006 3:16:58 PM
I prefer animals to most people. I think dogs deserve to live longer than some people I know. Animals love is unconditional.
People live longer than animals because it takes them that long to learn how to like, love and get along with people. Dogs dont have to live as long because they come into this world already knowing how to.

Has anyone ever gone from lovers to friends successfully?
Posted: 12/11/2005 9:45:24 AM
Yes I think it is possible. I have a male friend, we have been friends for over 20 yrs. Despite the fact that a relationship wasnt going to work between us, we slept together regularly for over a yr. He is still my friend and we still talk often. He knows that I have a finance now and he is able to accept the fact that there won't be anything sexual between us again.
Based on what you said about her reasoning I would give her sometime. Remain her friend, be there when she needs you.
If takes a big/wonderful person to remain friends with someone after they are no longer lovers. Wish my ex-hubby would of remained my friend. I commend all those who can and have the maturity to do so.

falling off the wagon happened numerous times, the denials and lying were abundant.

another post that I can't believe is still going.
Oh the great debate, gotta love it!!!1

HELLO PPL, IT IS ILLEGAL BECAUSE THE GOV'T SAYS SO.

This is the only reason why you can by alcohol (which by the way kills thousands in North America every year) and not pot.

The government can't figure out how to control pot, heck you can grow it in your house.
There is no way to alleviate the pot expense on the courts and control it at the same time.
Therefore it is illegal, the government can't control it, therefore they can't make money off it.

End of this thread lol!!!!

Posted: 11/19/2005 2:53:39 PM
Oh this is gonna be a can of worms, haven't read the rest of the posts yet.

She was wrong in not telling you that she was pregnant. However, she was within her right to terminate the pregnancy if that was her choice. Although I believe that you had the right to know she was pregnant, I don't believe that you should have any say in what she decides to do with the pregnancy.

What the heck ever happened to protection and birth control. You only knew her for 5 weeks, why was she pregnant. I swear the older I get the dumber the upcoming generations get.

That kind of game sucks.
I don't like to play games with people's heads or feelings.
My view, tell it like it is from the get go, if they don't like it, oh well.

What seems more believable?

Interesting question.
In school we learn Darwin's theory of evolution. It seems logical.
According to religion we have created evolution. Wonderful thought, but that creates what I call "poof". If we are to believe the religious theory then basically it was here is "God" and he went "poof".
It's one of those things that the more you think about and try and analyze the more questions you have, and the more unanswered questions you come up with.
So I guess I tend to lean more towards the straight evolution theory cause Poof just sounds too out there for me.
