On an initial meetup......should the guy..? Posted: 5/8/2012 11:23:35 PM | OP: I agree with your statement and I had this problem just recently. I met a guy online who I was going to meet for the first time in person this past weekend . I sent him a text in the morning to see if he was up and getting ready to plan the day, he sent me a text message 2 hrs later saying he couldn't wait to meet me. Since I was in the shower at the time he sent a reply I called him 1/2 hr later and he didn't answer. I left a message asking him to give me a call. 90 minutes passed and no call so I decided to hang out with my friends because it was a warm sunny day and I didn't know if and when we were going to meet. Almost 2 hours later I sent him a text and asked are we still meeting up. I waited for 30 minutes and heard nothing. Mind you it was already after 2 pm and I wanted to enjoy the weekend and meet him in the day light. I decided to reach him one more time and gave him a call. Again he didn't answer, so I left a voice message saying I guess you are busy, it is a beautiful day so I am going to spend the afternoon with my friends and have a bite to eat, so lets meet up another day. He did call me back 20 minutes later saying he fell asleep and why couldn't I meet him later that afternoon. I told him I was now already out of the area, I had tried to reach him a few times already and I was getting ready to order my lunch. I asked him could we just meet up another day. The guy never spoke to me again. I wasn't trying to stand him up but I my weekends are the only free time I have and I want to enjoy them to the fullest.
I guess some people (like me) do need some validation that there will be a follow thru. In this case we were not on the same page and not able to read each others minds. I should have sent the carrier pigeon to wake his butt up in the first place! lol! | | | |
