This Gypsy is ready to party Kat, glad to see you're back. I have created the perfect outfit, one that doesn't need a****too as an accessory. Would loved to have done the pirate wench again, but unfortunately Coral likes to drink, and she is not a "social" drinker... after a few, she likes to get frisky So, be looking for bat wings and other assorted scary critters as accessories. Along with maybe some magic potion that I may sprinkle on that special someone I hope to meet! Well, I've been offline for a few days, and am surprised at some of the posts. Kat, Eleanor and Shadowolf - no one who has thrown any of these parties has no idea just how much time, effort and planning goes into one. I hosted one here on the island with only about 60 people, and it was exhausting. Folks don't realize that the folks who plan them, don't really get the chance to enjoy the party themselves, as we spend all evening trying to make sure everyone has a great time. So, when some folks don't show up until three hours into it, they should just come on in and say hi. We all go for the same reason - to meet new people, make new friends and hope that special someone may be there for us as well. I've been to a few of these now, and want to let folks know that, even though it looks like everyone is in their little "click" that is not the case. Feel free to walk up to someone and say hi. Everyone understands that it is a terrifying experience to walk into a place and not know anyone. Lord knows, if not for Kat and her lovely family, I would not have made it in the door to the Dress Your Best party. As I approached, Kat was so kind that she corraled me at the door and made me enter. I was terrified, but within a matter of minutes I felt right at home. I met so many people that night it was wonderful. I also met some people that have become very close friends, as well. I had the best time that night that I had enjoyed in many years. I attended other parties after that, since I had such a good time, but none of them could match the Dress Your Best party. One party I ended up working to set up and check everyone in with one of the two hostesses, as one didn't seem to think it was important enough to come out of her hotel room until literally hours after the party had started. Folks ended up in bar fights, and one person ended up in the emergency room from "partying" too much. Kat, you throw parties with waaayyy too much class to have those kinds of incidents happen. If you need help with this one, please contact me? So, Kat please don't give up. Until someone gives you advice/comments/remarks that has thrown one of these, please ignore them. Some people are never happy, no matter what... they will always find something wrong, as they are usually negative people to start with. I have the costume already assembled and cannot wait for this one. I heard about the one two years ago, and don't know if we can top that or not, but we can sure try.

Hey there y'all...... Whew, got the flu really early this year, so haven't even checked my emails . I know that I missed out on a great party Kat, and I am sorry I could not make it... BUTT I feel like the new Gypsy now, so watch out boys! MermaidColleen: you are on. Let's do it right. How about we get enough folks to rent enough suites in the same section (the back of course), because we could have a little afterparty It would be great. I am definetly up for the suite and will call and make a reservation for us. And I can sleep on the pull out couch thingy That is, if I make it back to the room With the outfit I plan on wearing, ya never know

Kat, I'd be more than happy to meet up with some new folks. Let me put it this way... two years ago I went to a Dress Your Best party in Jax. I did not know anyone but the minute I walked through the door, so many people were there to talk to.... you will not feel left out believe me. Historically speaking, you CANNOT have a bad time at these parties.... we are all there for the same reason.. to meet other folks and have fun. So don't be scared and come join us Kat, feel free to have them contact me!

Hello there everyone.... This is sooo exciting. Eleanor - can't wait to see you again and catch up on old times. Kat and Shadowolf - you two are the best and I have been waiting for two years for you to throw this party.... Well hello there KittyKat! It's so great to see there is another party in Jax. Haven't been to one since Deland many moons ago. This sounds like it will be great, may even be bigger and better than the Dress Your Best party, where I had the honor and privilege of meeting you and all the wonderful people on POF. I cannot wait to catch up with everyone! And I know exactly which sexy outfit I will be wearing!!! I have a couple of friends that I know will love the idea of a party, so will invite them to join us. Can't wait til the 4th!

Just a heads up to all who are attending..... Great news. Spoke to the owner and since it is a restaurant/bar children are allowed to attend, long as they drink no alcohol..... I've seen children there before and they loved it. As this isn't going to be one of those mad drunken bashes as some POF parties have been, it really is a family atmosphere. So, grab the kids and come on down. For those pet lovers, dogs are actually allowed too.... ain't that cool??? Was there today, and they have eliminate the tables closest to the dance floor to accomodate all of us that are attending. We have reserved five tables for four next to the dance floor for those of us who will need a break from dancing our little tushies off!!! Cheryl, Maureen, Mel, Eleanor and all of you other lovely folks get ready for a great night out to remember. Can't wait to get this party started .

Here we goooo.... I can't wait. When you come in the front door of the Florida House inn, turn right into the bar. I will be sitting at the table just inside the door on the right hand side of the fireplace. You can sign in there, and get your nametag. I will be there at 6:00 to start signing folks in. Slim starts at 8 so that will give us time to meet and get to know each other before they kick into high gear. I am looking forward to meeting all of you kind folks from GA. If we all want to continue partying after Slim stops playing we can all stumble on over to the Palace Saloon, or do the bonfire thing here at the house..... we'll just wing it See y'all soon.

Hey Jack... sorry to hear that. It's not really a concert, just a great band in a local bar, you would have enjoyed it. Maybe the next one. Less than twenty four hours folks... can't wait. There are going to be some very quality people attending and the dancing will be on all night long. Slim plays great blues, the kind you just can't sit and watch. I plan on being exhausted on Saturday.... have some good friends coming in from the West Coast, and have arranged to have an actual Pirate to attend....not an apparition. Shiver me timbers and break out the Pirates Punch... I'm ready to partay... It's a full moon fever beginning to shine!!!!!!

Slow night at home.... having a ball reading this thread.... Newly... some good points, some bad ones. I find the same problem, only men seemed to be intimidated by my profile. I just say it like it is, as I am also tired of the head games and fake photos and especially the "creepy crawlers" who are in a relationship and just looking to see if the grass is possibly greener on the other side. It's a hoot. And no, I wouldn't marry the guy in the convenience store. The pre-nup would be way too complicated. Thanks y'all for the laugh. I really enjoyed it.

I am getting really excited about this party....looking out at the moon tonight and knowing it'll be another full moon bash. Can't wait to meet everyone, and am reserving tables for us all. The owner is kind enough to be holding the tables up front on the dance floor area, and trying to put the locals in the back of the place. Anyone who makes a reservation please let them know that you are with the POF party, so he makes sure you are located up front. Would love to take over the place. If anyone needs a place to stay, we have personal accomodations that can be arranged. Just let me know who and how many and we will work out the logistics. The afterparty will be at my house, and those of us who have attended a few (Eleanor, Kingpin, Cheryl) know they can be as much fun as the actual party. Since it's a full moon, we can have a bonfire outside here and dance around it all night See y'all soon.... can't wait.

Well, just wanted to post this to let everyone know just how the night will work. All of our great POF's will be able to check in from 6:15 to 7:30, to get their name tags, and anyone who would like a table in the dance room should make reservations for dinner. You don't have to actually eat, but you will want a place to sit, as it will get crowded with the locals. and we want to be able to move some tables out of the way to make a larger dance floor. Sarasota Slim will start playing at 8PM, so the party will start early. I look forward to meeting all of you true blues lovers. A good time will be had by all. Remember to get those tables reservations early this week.

Another great Saturday night downtown Fernandina ...I think I actually saw a real "ghost" pirate at the Palace Saloon... Maybe a few too many white russians??? So glad to see more folks have signed up and really can't wait to meet everyone. This may not be the largest record holding party, but it will mos def be one of the most fun. Hey Shadowolf... and Kat... it's so glad to hear from you. I miss you guys and would love to see you at the party.... we can make it a Pisces birthday party... I never realized how many of my POF friends were Pisces I sure hope you can work it into your schedule.... it would be great to have you two around.... you make me laugh until I cry..... Welcome also to our newcomers that have signed up. I am having computer problems and have to buy a new one, so am only jumping on here for a few minutes to say hi and can't wait for the party. I have some friends who are also coming from the other coast of Florida on their bikes, on their way to bike week.... Maybe we should all break out the leathers... ... my only decision is which color leathers to wear? The traditional black, the sexy white ones (with those boots) or my new set of purple ones that I love soooooo much and nobody else has... I love to be unique.... Can anyone give me a legitimate reason for NOT posting a picture??? Posted: 2/10/2007 5:36:32 PM
I do know of one professor at a well-known college here in Florida who was told he had to remove it by the officiating authority, as it did not represent the college in a "good light" with his photo being online for dating.... he didn't like it, but he was forced to remove it. I work in a high profile job, and don't find a problem with it. Anyone I work with knows I am single, and not dating anyone right now and have never had anyone say anything about it. If they did, I would not hesitate to tell them that my personal life is my own. There is nothing in our personnel policy that states I cannot do so. In addition, it helps 'weed-out' those people who are just interested in your 'looks'. So instead of getting lots of replies because of the way I 'look', I get a few more serious replies because of who I am This is an extreme problem I am having. As a POF party host I had to open my preferences to allow people to contact me regarding the party. I get literally 10 to 20 emails a day from guys I have no interest in, but they love my photo and (the ones who bother to read) my profile..... some are over 20 years younger than me. Being the kind person I am, I feel obligated to respond to them, but let them know that's it's just a little too "Freudian" for me. The younger ones are really only looking to see if they can have a sexual relation with an older woman.... found that out by actually dating a couple who seemed serious....

Hello to fontom, gatorhd, and clasicarguy and welcome to the show... so glad to see you signed up.... Eleanor, I really can't wait to see you again..... well thank you for the welcome. almost timed it right for my birthday not sure i want to fly all the way out there for fish and chips though I am sure we can find something delicious to entice your desires. The food there is really fantastic!! I"m going to try to go if I can drag some of my friends to come along too! :) It sounds like a blast! Grab your friends, they will not believe what a blast they will have at a POF partay. I can't wait to meet you.... Went to the Frisky Mermaid again last night, and the show was excellent. They really do get the best blues musicians to play there, from all over the country. For those who are attending, and those who haven't signed up yet, please check out the Frisky Mermaid online at www.friskymermaid.com This will allow you to see what a great place it is, and the famous blues bands that play there every week. When you go to the bottom of the website page, click on the Florida House Inn, and it will give you a virtual tour of the inside of the bar area, and show you what a beautiful and romantic courtyard exists outside in the rear of the restaurant. They also have an outside bar and the music will be heard outside as well as inside. If it is chilly that evening, they have huge heaters to warm everyone... or you could get that special someone you meet to keep you warm..... Sarasota Slim is famous for leaving the stage with his remote guitar and walking through the entire area playing personally for all attendees. He is a very social person and makes a concerted effort to meet everyone who is there. He is soooo excited about this party, that he has agreed to play until 1AM instead of Midnight He is also going through his repetoire to make sure he plays the best "down and dirty" blues that I have requested, just for my fellow phishers.... I know of so many people who are having birthdays that are Pisces, so let's make this the happiest birthday for all of us.... ..including me!!!!!! I cannot think of a better way to celebrate my birthday, being surrounded by all of my phish phriends... So, let's get signed up and get this party rollin'... and start for that special someone.. AND DON'T FORGET IT WILL BE A FULL WORM MOON THAT NIGHT: The tequila will be flowing and I have found out that all POF parties that take place on the full moon are the greatest ones..... so be prepared to have the best time of your life

It was awesome... 150+ folks and everyone had a fantastic time... Welcome to the party jansingleagain, sia1955, steve762us, treetopflyer and harinagrove1... glad you made it onto the site and signed up... can't wait to meet everyone. Eleanor, can't wait to see you again girl.... did we have a blast at the Jax Dress Your Best party (the limo ride was great, wasn't it?) and the after-party at Endless' house... hard to top that, but we can try!!!! Now that Deland is over, I promise to be more diligent and keep y'all informed. Sarasota Slim said he will be glad to play for us until 1 AM, instead of midnight What a guy!!!! Wow... what can I say? When it takes three days to recover, you know you were at the greatest party ever Shannon.... it was great to finally meet you and I think you girls did a great job. The band was excellent, the drinks flowed freely, and the people were the best. I met so many new folks and got re-acquainted with some old friends I met at the Jax party... Dove, you certainly are a treasure and I am so glad I finally got to meet you. Sorry you didn't make the afterparty, but maybe the next time... and Lynne, glad we got to meet, and I'm sorry you didn't make it either, it was fun... Sweetsexybeast... you definitely live up to that name. Had a great time and so glad we finally met. Too bad you lost the keys to my handcuffs.. Robert... ain't you glad you came out to play???? You were awesome, and who knew a white man could dance that great... don't worry, I can sew the rip in the back of my skirt... That's what happens when you get that "groove on" after a few drinks. Can anyone give me any idea of what the traffic is like on the way to/down near Deland from Jacksonville???? I'm watching the news and seeing all of the devastation that happened down there and I know they will be deluged with rescue workers. Just wondering if I should plan on leaving here earlier than I scheduled, just in case the roads are packed???? A website perhaps, that tells us what conditions the interstates are in?

This is such a heartbreak... Hurricanes Ivan and Jeanne went over my house two years ago, and it was a terrifying experience... but at least I had the option of knowing they were coming and was able to vacate the premises. It's heartbreaking to drive back home and see how much damage has been done. I am still, to this day, making reparations to my home, as insurance companies and FEMA really don't care. After my insurance made two $1,000 deductibles (two seperate storms, but only two week apart), I was paid a mere pittance and then they cancelled my policy!!!!!!!!!! I can only hope these poor people do not experience the same trauma that I did. I cannot possibly perchieve the devastation these poor folks had to experience. I cannot imagine something that huge arriving unannounced so quickly that you have no time to respond. My prayers go out to them.

I drank ... I laughed ALOT and I had the best time I had literally had in four years. We will not allow anyone sit in the corner and feel uncomfortable... we will grab you and introduce you to other folks. All of us are there for one reason and one reason only.... to meet new people. While intimidating to some, you will have a good time, I promise. For the guys: we ladies are there to meet you and see what happens. Feel completely comfortable walking right up to us and saying hello, and asking us to dance. If you don't, we will probably come up to you and ask you to dance. Shyness isn't a factor in this situation. We all feel a little nervous, with so many folks attending, and it's okay. By the end of the evening we will have you exhausted with so much laughter and dancing. My dance card is filling up fast, and my only regret is I will not have a chance to dance with every available man attending, as I have never seen so many people signed up for a party. And there will be many after-parties in the rooms, historically speaking. I know I am planning one in my room, so all who are interested are invited to stop by. So, put your fears aside and come enjoy the best party you have ever attended. No one will walk away disappointed. Instead you'll be asking..... WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE SCHEDULED ???????? Only 33 hours 9 minutes to go.... And I reiterate, it's going to be a FULL MOON and we all let our "hair down" during the full moon..... P.S. Just watching the news... I hope all of you in the New Smyrna/DeLand/Lady Lake are are safe and were not affected by the tornado last night. My heart goes out to anyone who was put in danger. There's a party on March 2nd that didn't start as a Pisces party, but most of the folks that are attending are.... coincidence? March 2nd is also a full moon, so that will make the party that much more fun for all of us. It's a blues fest with Sarasota Slim as the main man, at the Frisky Mermaid on Amelia Island. Welcome Lassie... and glad you're bringing a guest from England, no less. Love the accent they have. It'll be a night to remember for the quality of the music and people, not just for the crowd that may attend. NOTE TO EVERYONE: This place will be packed. If you want a table up front in the main room, you need to make dinner reservations now, as they are filling up fast and we can't move the locals once they sit down. Food is extemely good, as well as reasonably priced. That way, if we have all of the inside tables reserved, we can move them out of the way to make for a larger dance floor. It's a very intimate setting, but couldn't figure out a way to put that in the main thread, as I didn't want to attract all those folks just looking for "intimate" encounters.... just our blues lovers looking for that true special someone they can hopefully forge a bond with that will move to a second date. There is an outside courtyard, and the owner of the bar assures me that if we have a large turnout, he will just open all of the windows to the courtyard and let Slim crank it up Off to shop for the Deland party. Hope to see some of you there too.

So glad to see more folks are signing up for this blues fest. Welcome to y'all and can't wait to meet everyone. Went to the Frisky Mermaid on Friday night with "recentlymovedhere" and did we have a great time or what? Bob Margolin was excellent and we danced the night away. Made a whole bunch of new friends, whom we collected and after the show, we all stumbled over to O'Kane's to polish off the night. Can't wait for the Deland party on Saturday night. It's going to be a real blow-out. Just realized it is going to be a Full Snow Moon that night, which means a great time for all. AND, on the night of this party it will be a FULL WORM MOON Guess that means we will all have to have at least one shot of tequila to celebrate Should bring out those pirates ghosts they're always referring to here on the Island Shiver me timbers, HotMel ... I'll make sure they have plenty of Pirate's Punch on hand that night

Okay folks... here we go again. Not everyone keeps track, but I always found I have the best times of my life during the full moon.. So, guess what... on Saturday the 4th, at 12:45 AM we will again be blessed with another full moon... which will last until 12:45 AM Sunday morning... Actually, it will be the official Full Snow Moon... so we will all be partying under the guise of the moon phases once again.... Anyone who hasn't yet been to one of these events has no idea what is in store for them. Endless, you ain't just whistlin' Dixie there. The first one I went to was the Jax Dress Your Best Party and I had more fun than I literally had had in years!!! And, it also was a under the Full Cold Moon, and that evening was anything but cold. The party was hot, the people looked hot and we all worked up quite a sweat dancin' the night away! It won't do you any good to be shy, we will find you and make sure you dance and meet people that you would have never met otherwise... That is the truth folks. I was intimidated by the size of the attending crowd, but was immediately put at ease by all of the wonderful people I met as soon as I walked in the door. And since everyone was so kind to me, I will make a conscious effort to enable others to also feel at ease. We all are coming for one reason and one reason only: to meet others and have a great time doing it and to share our love of music and partying! FULL MOON FEVER!!! Oh yeah! Can't wait until then... only 3 days, 3 hours and 7 minutes to go Only one suggestion to you, Jacque.... they need to put all of the POFer's rooms in the same area, 'cause the after-parties are going to be awesome and we don't want to keep the whole place awake until the sun comes up!!! Mister clueless has been dropped by both and kicked to the curb now. He was leaving Email ultimatums yesterday giving one last chance for the date , before he deleted both from his PC. First class guy all the way. He assured women #one that he had others lined up for the weekend if she did not meet the deadline. Not hard to figure out why he is single Dove, from all your posts that I have read you sound like a sensitive and kind person. I cannot believe this man would do such a thing. So glad you "kicked him to the curb". He didn't even deserve a Hefty bag You go girl. Men like him are what I lovingly refer to on here as "creepy crawlers". There's no excuse for his behavior, and I sure hope he won't be at the Deland party. If he is, please be sure to point him out to me Lord help us all.... dating is difficult enough, let alone not being the center of one's attention. I would never, ever think of doing such a thing with two men. WTF was he thinking?????

Wow Lilbit.... I am soooo happy to see what a fantastic turnout this is going to be. Have already made the hotel reservations, and am bringing a carload of girlfriends with me. This does look like a record for attendance, and I can't wait to meet all the new people, as well as get to see the great folks I met at the Jax Dress Your Best Party. Love the boots.... have to see what I can dig out of the closet to wear that will really wow the guys.... the competition is looking pretty intense from what I see on here, so will definitely have to dress to impress. Don't have anything in pink, but have a hot red dress that I may just have to break out that I haven't had a chance to wear yet... Or maybe a hot little mini-skirt? With some thigh-high boots??? Whatcha think guys? This is definitely going to be one partay to remember. Can't wait.... only nine more days to go and I can't wait to and dance the night away!!! And don't anyone worry about how far away it is.... being right off the interstate it is easily accessible to everyone, and being on a Saturday you'll have plenty of time to make it there, with very little traffic... we won't have to do the "Nascar" on the interstate on the way there, so no excuses from anyone.... it'll definitely be worth the drive and you can't beat the prices on the hotel rooms... No more excuses folks.... let's make this the Valentine's Day we will all remember!!!!

Hey there Cheryl. Welcome to Florida Glad to hear you escaped from the great North country. It may be cold here, but at least it isn't snowing.... yet! I was at the Frisky Mermaid last Friday night when Motor City Josh came down from Detroit and the show was superb. The bar is really one of the kewlest places I have found since moving here a year ago. I saw that Bob Margolin is playing and have already planned on being there, so let's just do it. He will start playing at 8PM to midnight, and after that we can head on over to the Pirate's Saloon a block away and continue dancing the night away until 2AM. They have great southern rock bands, and it makes for a great evening.... Any guys that love the blues and beautiful women, meet us up there and you'll get a sample of what a blast the party is going to be like on March 2nd. Cheryl, if you send me an email we can make plans to meet and drive all the men crazy.... a brunette and a redhead... all we need now is a blond to complete some lucky man's dream...any blonds available this Friday????....lol. So, y'all start signing up for the show and I guarantee no one will be disappointed.
