Ebay - Your experiences, stories, advice
Posted: 6/22/2007 12:16:59 AM
LOL

I am known amongst my friends as the " ebay queen"

I buy and sell

never really had a problem.....once had someone say they sent an item 3 times....not... well i never received it...it was only worth $3 though....so not tooo perturbed

as for the above GHD hair straighteners.....they are $280 at the hair warehouse

I got mine on ebay for $111.50 that included postage....my sister was spewing cos she paid $280

My aim on ebay when buying is to

1. know your prices
2. Never bid over 50 % of normal price ( if you cant get it 1/2 price then your not ebaying right...smile)
3. know when to stop bidding
4. never bid until the last minute ( this stops the bidding going up n up)
5. include the postage in your allowable amount so you get a good deal

Ebay used to be fantastic....its not as good these days but if you look hard....sometimes a real bargain comes your way

oh and as for the mouse circus...it wouldnt have gone to sale cos its forbidden to sell livestock

as for troubles...i once had to sign a stat dec for the cops saying i bought an item on ebay and apparently it should not have been imported into the country....no problems on my part but the seller was taken to court.

Ebay can be good if you follow a few easy self made rules....smile

How fixed is Personality?
Posted: 6/5/2007 4:14:22 PM
personality is very changable

i used to be very shy and introverted but as ive aged and allowed myself to open up to what life has to offer i have become more extroverted

Life experiences do impinge on a persons personality so although i dont believe a person should try to change someone else...its certainly possible for a person to change themselves...and that doesnt mean they have been living a lie or anything nasty like that.....it just means they have learnt from experiences and adapted to make their life a better one....

Selection criteria for Oz Jobs
Posted: 6/5/2007 12:17:32 AM
I had 6 interviews for my current job

amazing

at the 6th interview i asked why they were having so much trouble deciding whether to say yah or nay....

they said " because you are answering all our questions perfectly...yet you dont have the experience in this area to know the answers, so we are confused and just testing as much as we can"

My response was..." all of the questions you have asked require one thing and thats common sense....if there is one thing i have in life its bucket loads of common sense"

they smiled and said..." we would like to offer you the job"

But yes.....these days...if you have a great CV...one that stands out from all the others....then you are much more likely to be short listed.

and just a hint...one thing that is a real grabber is anyone who has done community service or volunteer work and puts that in their CV. This is looked upon as favorable...dont ask me why....lol...but i always get asked about it in interviews

50 ways to leave your lover...
Posted: 5/25/2007 5:16:46 PM
one of my sisters friends......partner split with her

so she rang england on his phone then just left the phone sitting off the hook on the side board for god knows how long....

he got a bill for just over $1200

then she subscribed him to just about every magazine known to man using his credit card details

Then she found out the reason he split was cos he just found out he had cancer and didnt have long to live and didnt want her to suffer thru it with him

He passed away 6 months later.......very sad

my ex........Did the Humpty Doo....then said i love you and .... im out of here....he thought having sex right before splitting up would make it easier for me.....lol

^^^^^^ I totally agree with that statement

Ive had several experiences...people telling me stuff i already knew but there is no way i could have, knowing words to new songs and thinking its a remake only to find out its not, lots of minor stuff

I rode my motor bike to alice springs last year.......grabbed some of those wonderful red rocks which now have pride of place in my garden....got red dirt all thru my bag i took with me....and photographed those please dont photograph these rocks( like waving a red flag before a Bull).....

So far......no problems...havnt got sick....no bad luck...no broken camera....

Only thing thats happened since that trip almost 12 months ago is my ex left me.......and now.....I think thats a good thing.......smile.

I always thought friday the 13th was a lucky day....so maybe the opposite happens to me and when bad things are meant to happen good things happen for me.

Who knows........Smile

woohoo

heated discussion

honestly...i dont think its an old verses young issue at all....

and age isnt just a number

not when you state 33 to 53 as your age bracket your looking for and you get emails from 23 to 70...... age is never just a number

as for having kids...thats a very personal issue and shouldnt even be bought up in a first message

hey sexy wanna be my human incubator.....lol....bye bye

gotta luv these approaches....what hope do you honestly have...NONE

Best place in Victoria is

Coach and Horses Inn, Clarkefield

This magnificent 1857 bluestone building has reported sightings of several ghosts.

Ghost No. 1 is that of Irish seaman Patrick Reagan, who jumped ship in Melbourne and struck it rich around Castlemaine.

He once stopped at the Clarkefield Hotel (as it was then known) and was robbed and killed.

Reagan's ghost has often been seen around the hotel, running down the stairs as though fleeing assailants.

Ghost No. 2 is a Chinese miner found hanged after a fight.

But most sightings have been of ghost No. 3, a girl who, it is said, was thrown down the hotel well by her father.

Many claim to have seen her, sobbing and pleading.

Don and Judy Buzmer took over the hotel in the early 1980s.

Don had heard the stories but scoffed at them.

But not for long.

Footsteps in the dead of night, glasses smashing, paintings flying about ... the Buzmers put the pub back on the market.

Current licensee Ian McIntosh, a no-nonsense type, says he does not believe in ghosts, but ...

"I always check the kitchen before I go to bed, especially the gas jets.

"Four times now I've gone into the kitchen next morning to find two of the seven jets turned on. It's always the same two."

Ive been to clarkfield pub....never saw anything...but i certainly has a presence

check it out

I have two stories......

When i was 17 i was visiting my aunty....she was the care taker of the cemetary on King Island and her house was right next door.
My 16 yr old female cousin and i were chatting in her room and unbeknown to us her 18yr old brother and his mate were listening at the door to our conversation. We had decided that while everyone was alseep that night we were going to go into the cemetary at midnight and hold a seance.

So we bide our time and just before midnight we snuck out to the cemetary.

In the mean time my older cousin and his mate left the house ahead of us and hid in the bushes on the fence line of the cemetary waiting for us.

We set up our circle and started our seance and all was fine....then all of a sudden there was this horrid screeching and these two figures came running out at us from the bushes.

of course we freaked out and ran for our lives....lol......as i was running out the gate my foot slipped on the cattle grid and got stuck...this made me freak out even more.....then as i looked back to see where the two running figures were i saw a young girl....she was about 5 or 6 with blonde curly hair and she was holding out her hand to me , she was crying......i saw her as clear as day....then she just sort of faded, i pulled my leg out and made it back to the house.

the next day i was talking to mum and i told her about what had happened....she bought out her photo album and showed me a picture of a young girl and it was her.

Apparently she was my mums cousin and she died when she was 5 yrs old

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

second story

I went to uni to study nursing and stopped working so i could study full time.... i had been living away from my parent place for years and didnt want to go back....so when the opportunity to house sit came up....i grabbed it.

it was my best friends fathers house...he had recently lost his wife to cancer and he just didnt know what to do with the house so he let me stay there til he decided

anyway

ill set the scene ( oh and by the way this house was across the road from my parents place)

One friday night i was home alone...i was sitting in the bean bag in front of the couch.
in the corner to my left was the TV, right in front of me was the stereo with glass doors and to the right were two large yellow glass(yuk...lol) doors, that were wide open.

i was watching tv....and you know how if there is someone watching you sometimes you can just feel it and the hairs stand up on the back of your neck......well i had that feeling...it was soooo strong and i felt that someone was standing in the doorway staring at me....i quickly looked to the doors....nothing....there was nothing there....as i glanced back to the tv my eyes had to pass the glass doors on the stereo cabinet.....and in the glass i saw someone sitting on the couch behind me....freaked me out...i jumped up and turned around but there was no one there.....i looked back in the cabinet door again and she was there....my girlfriends mother was sitting on the couch......again i looked at the couch and saw nothing....i ran across the road and freaked out told my folks what had happened...they said i was just scared being in the house alone....but i wasnt...ide been home alone heaps....my brother came over and stayed with me that night.

weird things continued to happen and did so for a few days....the clock on the tv was one of those dome clocks that has a pendulum that rotates....well the pendulum would stop and the clock hands would reverse....i was told this is impossible,,,,but it happened...lol

at 2am you could here the sound of a vaccum cleaner...you could walk right up to the spot, but there would be nothing there. draws would be hanging open, doors left ajar ...but i guess the freakiest thing was my cat.....she wouldnt go into the front room...in fact she was scared to go anywhere near the door of that room.

the room was still set up as it had been left....sort of as a shrine for his late wife.

a few days after this i learnt that my sister had been in that room and had borrowed a pair of this ladies earrings.....stupid girl...lol...once the earrings were replaced.....things became quiet again

ive never told my best friend..... i think it would freak her out tooo much

freaky huh

abortion
Posted: 5/9/2007 9:11:36 PM
Personally...i could never have an abortion

And i agree with most people here.

the decision lies with the couple involved and no one else, no priests, no right to lifers, no one....just the couple

in my job i do get people asking for advise. my advise is usually to sit down and think carefully about what they want, write a list of pros and cons, talk to as many people as they can to help with their decision, decide what is best for each of them and the child.

its not a decision that should be taken lightly

once you keep a child you have that child for a very long time.....
once you abort a child you can never bring that child back......

not a decision ide like to have to make

i do however take exception when a women is " forced " to make a decision she doesnt want to make.

same old same old

no one knows anything...the best thing to do is do your best to make yourself and others around you happy

easier said than done though

do what you think is right in your heart....but be true to your self and to the second person involved.....

OP....i think i understand you here

its not that your against sex

its not that you expect to be out n out friends before you knotch it to the next level

but you are talking about chatting with someone online.....as in before the first meeting

and all the guy is interested in is saying he would like to cuddle you, kiss you, hold you....On the first meeting over a cup of coffee....lol

yes a bit inappropriate

hold back on the intimate chatter til at least after the first meet....sheesh

you might meet and go.....sheesh...i couldnt kiss or cuddle him/her if they were the last person on earth ( harsh...but hey stranger things have happened)

it should go something like this....share some common interests get to see what sort of person they are....intimate talk in the first instance usually gives motives away....sorry it does

then once shared interests are done...hey lets meet for a coffee n chat

you meet...all is good....go home

both like each other....cool.....well now we can discuss the holding hands, back rubbing, kissing cuddling

not so hard is it

unless all your interested in is a bit of slap n tickle.....smile

oh dear.....rocket science..... i think not

oh and PS. lying on a couch rubbing backs is not a good first meet activity

What is the worst injury that you have had to deal with as either child or adult
Posted: 5/6/2007 10:37:06 PM
I dislocated my knee scuba diving....lol
tore a cartlidge and split a ligament

yep.....

everyone says how on earth do you dislocate a knee scuba diving?

well very easy let me tell you

i was carrying approx 28 kg of equipment ....walking down the rock at bare island in sydney.....got about half way to the water and my foot twisted and i fell...wouldnt have been so bad but all the extra weight.....went down like a tonne of bricks

i was in soooo much pain....and all i could think of was how the hell i was going to get back up the cliff......get me a helicopter....lol

i was with two male divers....thank god

they got my gear off me and carried it back up the hill...then came back and helped me back up the hill

the worst part of the whole affair was not so much the injury but the treatment i got from my ex at the time....i should have known then what an A** he was

he practically dragged me up the hill...the other guy was astounded

then once in the car.....he just drove to the hotel...grabbed our stuff and drove us from sydney to melbourne....my leg swelled up to more than double the normal size...turned black within an hour....an ice pack would have been good.....nooooo.....

i was being punished cos i did it on purpose and ruined his dive.....smile

so nice a person

about 10 hrs later of sitting in a cramped car and only stopping for petrol...got home....could not straighten my leg at all.....if there was considerable damage done...it was even worse then

saw the doc on the thursday....saw specialist on friday...had knee reconstruction on the tuesday....

outcome

my knee is better than ever now....smile

and my ex is now my ex.....even bigger smile

Spineless emailers

How do i put this nicely.....lol

Has anyone had experiences where people email you saying derogatory things

you wish to reply to find out where that sort of comment came from

when dumbfounded you find they have blocked you from responding

I guess my question is

Are people really that insensative and cynical in our world today?

Have we lost our compassion for our fellow man? Did we ever really care about anyone other than ourselves?

Telemarketers
Posted: 5/6/2007 5:30:37 AM
I just say to them....

in my polite little voice of course.....smile

may i please have your home phone number?

they say....what for?

i relpy...so i can ring you back one night when your just about to sit down to dinner/ hope in the bath/ watch a good movie.....lol

actually most telemarketers are a pain

but i work for the blood bank and we use telemarketers to ring our donors to remind them of their appointment time

only difference is......we get permission first to do so...if they dont want calls we flag their file as such

Baby

i totally hear you

and ive been thru the same...

lucky me though...ive recently found my man...smile

but you know this is the train of thought that goes on

one guy actually said these words to me

" internet dating is for desperate no hopers who have no social skills and come from low socio-economic backgrounds with low gene pools"...

lol...now with thoughts like that going thru guys heads what hope is there for us nice girls who do have half a brain and good social skills

keep looking hun....cos in amongst those sour grapes is a beautiful green juicy grape with no pips just ripe for the plucking

stick to your guns....and you will find a NICE man not a Desperate no hoper he describes....lol
