The Rainbow bridge
( In memory of Rescue)
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys, with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail are young again. Those that are maimed are made whole again.
There is only one thing missing....They are not with there special family and friends, who loved them so much on earth. So each day they run and play, until the day comes, when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. the nose twitches, the ears erect, the eyes are staring, and they suddenly run from the group.
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet again, you take them in your arms, and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again. Once again you look into into the eyes of your loving friend.
Together again ,you cross the Rainbow Bridge, never to be separated, ever again.
We will love you and miss you forever Rescue. But one day we will all meet you at the Rainbow Bridge...

To continue cause I timed out in here...I have been inactive as a fire fighter due to family deaths but have seen some very bad scenes,,,I have had to pull friends of mine out of fire scenes and they expired cause of the smoke...
1 go to crappy tire and buy a mag lite for every bedroom...they might cost 30 bucks each but its worth it..You can take out any window in a heart beat with em...hit the window in the lower bottom corner and you have fresh air
2 have a rope or safety ladder out of the main bedroom to get to the ground..
3...teach your kids to come towards your bedroom...its way safer and at least you have a head count.
4..shut the friggen door....keeps he gasses out...
5...by now you should be going out and buying a mag lite, rescue ladder and forming a plan...So what are you doing still reading this?????

Some good points there Duffster but to expand on them and you still owe me a hug...
1...if a fire alarm goes off DO NOT STAND UP...when you do the super heated gasses that are swirling at ceiling level will burn your lungs out in a instant...most victims are found right behind, beside a door as they tried to get out.
2...hit the floor and cover your mouth and breath thru what ever..be it a pair of socks,blanket,shirt...it doesnt matter...roll out of bed and hit the floor...
3....if you have kids and this goes for parents as well...have a flashlight beside each and every bed. here is why....if a fire starts the parents and kids hit the floor and grab the flashlights. The kids by now you should have taken through a training run.
So lets go thru a training run now....and pay close attention....So you and the better half have went to bed,the kids are in bed and all is calm...at 2 am the fire/smoke detector goes off....do you run downstairs to check it out...NOT...you smell smoke...
By this time the kids are awake and each one grabbed there flashlight and heading towards the parents door( crawling on the floor)...its gonna happen in a frenzy....one parent accounts for the kids while another one smashes the bedroom window out. The parent at the door makes sure it is shut and now you have a method of egress....out the window..You had 2 methods of egress but one is cut off by a unknown...so now you have one left.
So now here is 2 choices...you didnt buy a escape ladder like you were going to for the last year....but at least you have fresh air to breathe for now till a dept gets there...Stay by the window...its way easier to reach some one when you can hear them them
Above all.....pactise practise practise....I am gonna cut this short now and continue in another link...

Miss Sunshine here is todays trick question...follow closely now....u live in leduc ..now if I was to set up a bar night here cause I am 2 hours from you would you come to it?? Probably not....but if I was to set a day of events and meeting ppl to make the 2 hour travel time worth while for you so that you had a busy day would you be more up for that??
So drive for 2 hours to sit in a darkened bar meeting a bunch of ppl drinking or 2 hours to spend the day with a bunch of ppl and get to know the real them...which would you choose????

Just my 1.5 cents worth...( we are still in a recession) but a nice outdoor bbq would be good. An make it mid day or so and here is why. I and so many other members live a few hours out of the city and while the bar thing is interesting it really is boring waiting for a 7 pm event to start. You can only walk around Walmart for so long and Canadian tire gets boring real fast.
Hows about a full day event like canoe's on the north sask or a day at a park followed by a bbq. That way you get to meet pl in there element so to speak with out any booze involved. An if it works out you still get the evening to share with the person you met that day. The bar thing is interesting but who really wants to meet some one in a bar off of here? I think we are all past that point.
Just my .01 cents worth cause the goverment just raised my taxes....

Once again rereading this thread here is my personal opinion...this is so friggen sad....drug addictions kill family and friends alike. Drugs dont know any boundaries. Thats the way it is. When ppl have nothing but drugs to look up to and give up on family, friends, relationships its a very crappy day on this earth.
What is even sadder is that there are all sorts of scumbags out there that will sell dope to any one they can just to make some money off it. They dont care how it affects family and friends....walkin down the street and havin some one ask me if I want a 8 ball just makes my temper flare..The girl I was tryin to help is still hooked on the shit. She just turned 28 a few days back and basically her whole life is screwed for her right now. The last time me and her talked she asked me if she could ever get back to normal and regain her smarts back....I looked her in the face and said NO...its to far gone now to ever get back what you had b4. She just looked at me,smiled and basically didnt really give a shit....Her brain was that permafried...and so sad cause she used to model...

Update....was doing some cleaning or lookin for some thing in the back storage room the other day and low and behold what did I find?? A spray can of wasp/hornet killer...heheheh If it kills them it should do a ant in me thinks.
So I went out back and found a ant hill that was swarming, set up a table and signed up about 2000 volunteers for this experiment!! gave em all a good shot of it and they went nuts..
Next morning not a ant to be found.
Sprayed the corner of my house where there was a ant hill...the black ones and havent had a problem since..hehehe..had a couple of big vagrant red ones come to visit lately but the boots took care of them.
If any more I am just gonna use this stuff as it lasts for 3 weeks and give the base boards in my house a shot

Gonna put one more thing in here after rereading the thoughts of ppl...TRUST ME...all you will get are head aches, heart breaks and lots of time off work. The drugs control ppl like you wouldnt believe and when they dont have them the whole body craves them so they will seek out the drugs where ever they can. An if they cant find drugs they will turn to booze just to help out with the addiction. Some nights I only got 2 hours of sleep then had to go to work the next morning and still do my job while the junkie/addict took enuff pills to kill a elephant..Try working a whole week with only 10 hours of sleep behind you...it just doesnt work.
Quite a while back I started a thread in here same as the OP and found out lots of stuff..it all came true and I just had to walk away from it all. I tried to be the Knight in shining armour who saves the queen.....but you know waht you cant save any one who doesnt want to be saved or even help them selves....sorry to say that but that is life.
I still hope that the OP tries to get ahold of me so that I can share some of my life experiences with her....other then that I guess the next thing I can say is Been There, and bought the friggen t-shirt...

I spent 2 years of my life...$15,000 dollars tryin to help a drug addict out and in the end here is what I got...NOTHING....and this was just 3 years back. In the end she pulled a knife on me,threatened to kill me and you wouldnt believe the amount of time in court I sat through and the lost wages, travel time etc etc...
All I can say is this....DRUGS LIE AND SO DO THE PPL USING THEM...I am gonna send the original OP of this a private message with my phone number included so that if you want to talk on the phone we can. I went through 2 years of hell and dont want any one else to go down the same road....

NOW ITS WAR ON THEM....having a nice bath this morning....( sorry no graphic pics of it) and just got done drying my hair when all of a sudden I felt something hit my back ,Friggen black ant..spun around stood up and he had a bath towel and surf board and was crawling on my back. Not sure if he was a covert hiding in my towel or parachuted down from the ceiling but now they have crossed the line...ITS NOW A WAR ZONE HERE...just short of detonating a small nuke to get rid of em the first step is this..
Lemon fresh tide mixed in about a gallon of water...the phosphates will dry there little bodies out in 5 seconds or less...
Wear my blades in the house snd actively seek out every one of em
Buy a can of Dr Doom tomorrow and spray all the door frames and base boards for em..
an for the really big ones load up the tac 12 guage and let em have it...I have to replace the flooring in here any ways....

So I invented a new game to play with my new found bestest 6 legged friends...its called rolly chair and here's how it works...ahem be prepared to take notes for this...Sooooooooooooo...
Every time I see one of em I take my rolly puter chair and go cruising in both rooms at random. Now it works better if you have a beer or 10 in ya cause the aim is way better. But remember you have to be sitting in the chair and some one else steering is called a time out for 5 minutes...so when you have your bestest friend in sight you simply CRUISE over him'her and gain a extra point for the night...
Now if I could just figure out how to get the chair and me to stick to the walls and bath tub sides I am sure I would have a real money maker going here...hehehehe...hahahahah

Any one else finding the friendly little critters crawling through your house right now? I dont know wether to try and make friends with them, stomp on em,hit em with Dr. Doom and kill em or just fire up the tiger torch, scorch em then serve them to my friends and family after I have dipped them in chocolate sauce and lightly salted them....
Any one else finding the same problem with the little cuties????

I never had a beard but a mousetache since i was 14.....quite a few years back me and a buddy got drunk and he always shaved his head. So in the drunkeness that night he said I needed a trim....he said let me trim it and he cut half of it off.
So I said well lets totally change things and after I was shaved clean I basically shaved my head at the same time and have never looked back. My hair was about 1/8th of a inch long and clean shaven....I like my new look and would never go back to the old look....

Have you ever used those teeth whitening strips?
Posted:
3/28/2009 7:28:56 PM
Interesting topic...I was told that using baking soda helps...but it seems so gritty and coarse that I would be worried about scratching through the enamel. Was also told that peroxide instead of water works good. I know that peroxide whitens bones so it would probably work on teeth...So how about go mid line and try some of the good ol arm and hammer 3 way tooth whitening paste with a non abrasive baking soda ( already added) and use a small amount of peroxide instead of water as a lubricant??
I have been using the arm and hammer stuff with water for 3 weeks now and you can tell it is cleaning and polishing but doesnt feel like you have a mouth full of gravel...and they even include a handy tooth whitening chart with it so you can track your progress...I dont know....nothing ventured ,nothing gained I guess...I am not a dentist but remember this...
DONT SWALLOW the peroxide/tooth paste combo....Your esophagus, stomach,it tract,....will love you....

Oh ya dont forget to tell him the couch squeaks every so often and he might want to replace it so the neighbours arent kept up all night....

i am a hick or redneck and damn proud of it...I always open doors for ppl be them male or female and always say good morning and its always Ma'am or Sir...when I was at the Fire school you ALWAYS opened a door for your instructor and met them with a hearty greeting...Male or female it didnt matter....it was always respect at all times..
Couple of years back I was in the Esso here ( its a small town) and the guy at the till was totally rude and ignorant...He was paying for some stuff and being a ass about it to the cashier...So I said...( I was 3 ppl behind him)...You know...its to fukkin bad that ppl who wake up with a attitude in the morning cant leave it at home or in the motel room cause the rest of us really dont want to listen to some one elses bullshit and have to put up with it...He turned at looked at me...never said a word and I had all the other ppl lookin at me also and he just shut right up and walked out....He found out that some one didnt want to listen to him and that was the endof that..
Last weekend I was in walmart at Capilano looking at some stuff....just me in a isle by myself and 3 guys came towards me so I stood in the middle of the isle and all 3 cut across in front of my line of sight and not one of them said...S'cuse me...doesnt surprise me at all...

Gonna add one last thing and remember this cause it will save your ass...If you help any one in a emergency medical situation DO NOT go above your scope of training even though you may think you can do a skill...even though you THINK you can use a Aed but have not been trained in its use, refuse to use it. Simply say that I have not been trained so therefore am not qualified. This is a sticker that could end your butt up in court.
Luckily now the standards are such that all cpr courses include AED training as well as BVM ( bag valve mask) training...but you catch my point dont go above your training skill.
One last thing and this is THE MOST IMPORTANT...do not accept any form of payment for helping some one. Most of you will be thinking cash but lets go way above that. You are in a food line up in the mall and a kid starts choking...you rush over and clear the airway and the kids fine...The parents are so gratefull to you that they want to buy you dinner...say NOPE, thanks but, NOPE..
The minute you accept any form of payment and this could even be the parents buying you a chocolate bar...you are..PRACTICING MEDICINE WITH OUT A LICENSE..............You have received payment...any form of payment
I will now leave this one alone but hope you take my word for it because these are 2 things that for sure, besides some others, that will end with your butt in court and getting sued. Above all else....next time you take a cpr/first aid course make sure that these subjects are brought up and ask your instructor any questions you need to...thats what we are there for...

Talawah...great the you did a re-cert in your skills but...in Alberta its called the emergency medical aid act and was brought in by the Alberta goverment. The Good Sam act is american and any instructor who stills calls it this is outdated in some aspects of there instructing.
How do I know this you may ask...I am a current aed, first aid,cpr instructor. I have to teach this at every course so there fore should know what it is and how it works!!!!An above all...whats its called!!!

Sell my house, pack my self up as well as my hound and get outta dodge...Buy another house....stay with the person I truly want to be with....and continue on in life but with some one else in a different location/perspective...Oh ya...
My next house I have to have a aquariun loaded with fish...I dont want to put the little guys through the rigours of moving soon and stress them out...

My biggest fear...going out getting drunk and crashing out on some ones couch..then waking up and seeing that Kenny is crashed out on the floor 10 feet from me and snoring loudly....

One other thing....if you post a pic of your self or 10 of em and you are blond and there are 9 other blonds in the pic...who the hell are we supposed to be lookin at??? You or the 9 other blonds???
Shall we just jump back and forth between pics to try and figure out which one is you???....Waste of time....
Red heads and brunettes also apply to this rule...

I agree that kids pics shouldnt be put up in profiles..wayyyyyyyyyyyy to many idiots out there...or on here...the net I mean.
thing that gets me is the supposedly funny or stupid faces some ppl put in there profile. If I wanted to see your face in different colors or distorted i.e. turned half ways around I will simply grab your pic off the net and photoshop it into different colors and put your lips at the top of your head....
I am sure that you dont look like this every day ...but...but.....different streets for different freaks I guess
Hard to look at a person when they are more like a painting then a individual.
