Age appropriate dress
Posted:
4/13/2007 7:34:44 PM
I shop in the Junior dept also. I wear low cut jeans and I dress like the younger generation does. Its not really about style, I like to be comfortable and look nice. Nobody complains about what I wear also. I listen to the same music as most of the young generation and dance it too, so I can blend! Clothing is not really about AGE, its about how comfortable you feel wearing it!
I once had a large woman come up to me wearing a halter top and she was really large. She made the comment, I can wear anything I want that the skinner women wear! I agreed, she was too large for the shirt, but she was comfortable so who was going to argue with her?

Menopause, Midlife crisis and low libido
Posted:

I went thru peri menopause with no libido problems. I always felt young. I did have some moodiness and my patience seems to have disappeared somewhat. Now, I am in menopause and still can't see the difference. Every now and then I have a night sweat, but I still have my libido!
I haven't started any HRT yet. I am waiting until I have to! I take each day as a new adventure through my next journey in life, Menopause and Single me!

It's Not Over at 45
Posted:
4/13/2007 6:16:05 PM
I am more content and happy at this point. I know nothing is over at 45! I passed that number a few years back and it didn't stop anything. It gave room for me to do more things that I have never done! I have learn that I could do anything I wanted with my life, being wild or conservative. I have the experience in my later life to really enjoy IT to the fullest!
I have surprised a lot of my friends, I can out dance them and I have more energy than they do! Age is a number and you are as old as YOU allow YOURSELF to be! I will never be old! Since there is no number for OLD anymore!
Actually the older you get the better IT gets!

Have we forgotten what dating is?
Posted:
4/13/2007 5:57:42 PM
I went on several dates as a young lady. Now, being "OLDER" , I have a tendancy to want to talk over the telephone and send emails and get to know someone before meeting them!
I have been accused of being NOSEY because I asked questions up front. I have had men ask me to meet for dinner. My response is I do not need a free dinner! Meet for a coffee or tea, no response!
If a man gets mad for something little, let it go...means that they would have been a problem in the long run! Plenty More Fish Out There...

Long hair on older women
Posted:
4/13/2007 5:35:21 PM
My hair is a little longer than shoulder length. I am trying to grow it longer! A womans hair is suppose to be the pride & joy on her body! My hair is high maintenance and I like it long. It keeps me warm in the winter and I can style it in so many ways! Each woman has their own preference for their hair. I do not think age has anything to do with the length or style. That is based on the woman herself. I wear my hair like the younger generation in color and styling. I spend alot on my hair!!
I love my hair and I want it to look good at all times!

It can happen to men too - no photo should mean no date !!
Posted:
4/10/2007 7:52:29 AM
oh yes!!...It is also true about pics being misleading. I have no idea why someone would mislead another about their looks...especially if they are going to meet face to face. The excuse .. "I thought he/she would like me for who I was inside " just doesn't cut it, because if you don't look like what you say then it only proves that you are a liar.
There are way too many liars on POF!
To 01SPORTY
Hmmm, I just noticed this,
I'm coming off as being picky. I'm not picky, but I put a lot into honesty and a person being upfront.
I'll admit that my "window" of what attracts me both physically and mentally has been narrowed. I'm no longer willing to automatically go along with everything and anything. When I started dating after my divorce, I made up my mind I had the right to be a little choosy.
Don’t compromise what YOU are looking for! It pays to be PICKY & CHOOOSY!
I think the best way to meet people from POF or any other date site, is at the POF dances or the dinner meets. It is not a date, it is just a way to meet each other and other singles too! My pictures are recent!

Being called the WRONG name by your boy/girlfriend

It has never happened to me. I have always gotten the name right. I can't imagine what would happen if I would have said the wrong name. Forgive and forget.

Sex on a first date? Is it a bad move?
Posted:

It is apparent that everyone on here has a different opinion! In my opinion, I think it is. If a person is looking for a long term relationship yes. Just like daydreembeliever said, why buy the cow, if the milk is free! I don't call it being part of the 50's, I call it self respect. I want the guy to respect me and want to get to know me first. I believe there is a big difference between love and lust!

She is still surfing dating sites.. what am I to think?

I agree with Artistee. Are you on the web sites looking for her? How do you know how many she is on, if you are not on them yourself!
She is still active and apparently you are too. So, what is the problem? Sit down and discuss this ISSUE with her. Maybe this is not an ISSUE to her as it is to you.

I would get this in writing with a lawyer. I had a problem similar to this, years back! We lived together for about 4 years and were about to get married, when we BROKE UP! He held half of my stuff. My name was on the lease and I had a key to the house, he called the police and told them I Broke In, I went to jail! The judge told me to get a lawyer and divorce him for my stuff back! I had to produce the title to my car, to get my car back! What State do YOU live in? Each state has their own set of laws!

Here is two jokes...I have 100's..........

On the outskirts of a small town, there was a big, old pecan tree
just inside the cemetery fence. One day, two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts up between them.
"One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me," said one boy. Several nuts dropped and rolled down toward the fence.
Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he heard the boy's voices from inside the cemetery. "Oh my," he shuddered, "It's Satan and the Lord dividing the souls at the cemetery." Then he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along. "Come here quickly," said the boy, "Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls."
The old man hobbled to the cemetery. The old man whispered, "Let's see if we can see the Lord himself." Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were unable to see anything. They heard, "One for you, one for me. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence, and we'll be done."
They say the old man made it back to town a full 5 minutes ahead of the boy on the bike!
A blonde decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no
lessons or prior experience.
She mounts the horse, unassisted, and the horse immediately springs into
motion. It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde
begins to slip from the saddle. In terror, she grabs for the horse's mane,
but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the
horse's neck, but she slides down the side of the horse anyway.
The horse gallops along, seemingly impervious to its slipping rider.
Finally, giving up her frail grip, the blonde attempts to leap away from
the horse and throws herself to safety. Unfortunately, her foot has become
entangled in the stirrup, she is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding
hooves as her head is struck against the ground over and over.
As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness when to her great fortune...............
. . . Earl, the Walmart greeter, sees her and unplugs the horse.

older women younger men

I have never dated a man my age. I feel and look about 38 years old. So, I can't imagine dating someone my age. The problem with dating younger men, is if you fall in love with each other...it can cause problems! If he wants children and you can not have any! I still date younger men...I don't find anything wrong with it. I am up front about everything now!

Yes, I had that problem yesterday. Since we were SOO CLOSE, I agreed to meet him. I don't know who his picture was of, but NOT HIM! He had very little hair on top and his picture has a lot of hair in it...Go check for yourself...Hardblaze...I put a block on for lying to me! Do I actually want to meet anyone now...I am skeptical NOW! I look like my picture, actually better. I was nice and polite, but I was happy to leave it at that! Oh this guy was not good! There was a teeth issue too! I don't like being Rude, but I HATE to be lied to. I am sure everyone on here feels the SAME WAY!

So you want a second chance?
Posted:
1/10/2007 11:41:29 AM
Hi,
Its really hard for me to write to you about this. I went thru the breakup process about 2 years ago. Then we got back together. But the one thing that I have learn, If you don't have the trust, it won't work. Know matter how many times you go back.
I had another boyfriend and my ex broke us up. He didn't want me to be happy with someone else. He pays people to get into my life and tell him what I am doing. My house is still watched, What am I suppose to do?
I still love him and I am still grieving and trying to get over him. I am trying to move on. I spend alot of time crying. People that Love one another are not mean, do not Cheat and Lie to each other.
My friends say it is best to sell my home and move away where no one knows who I am. I already kicked all my friends to the curb, (anyone who says that I should go back to him).
Tell me why would a man, cheat with other women, tell me he doesn't want me anymore or love me anymore, BUT, babysits me and pays other people too? I know that he Stalks me too. I always watch my rearview mirrow on my truck. My neighbors tell me to sell my truck because everyone knows it...that is not a good excuse to me!
What is YOUR advice for this problem?
I never tell anyone, everything that I go thru, this is just a part of how bad this problem has been.
No one knows where I go to when I go dancing. I always change. How do you start a new relationship when you have baggage like this?
Pam
