Best obscure place...
Posted: 9/22/2005 10:05:25 AM
I am definitly going to check the last place out. I eat at Paymon all the time.. if you sign up for thier newsletter they send you half price on some dinners or free appetizers.. its great.

I don't know if I mentioned it before but there is this great little Italian resturant on Tropican and Pecos, called Fortunatos... little place.. great food, they have live music some nights. Decent prices. Right next to it is a Japanese resturant I believe. it has been a while since I have been there, but it was good.

thanks, its great to be back.

I love pin kao I found it when I moved on that side of town...

I am going to have to try all these great places.

I used to get my breakfast at Longhorn Casino at like 3am, it was great back in the day. Havent been there in a while though.

I have to say the best breakfast burritos are no where near this state. If you ever pass a Small town in Texas called Stanton off the 20 stop at a little Cantina called Rosa's its attached to a Texaco now. They serve the worlds best small burritos, THE BEST. I would fly there just to get a cooler full of them.

What song has made you cry?
Posted: 8/2/2005 10:50:40 AM
Artist/Band: Richey Kim
Song: A Place Called Home

Well, it's not hard to see
Anyone who looks at me
Knows I am just a rolling stone
Never landing anyplace to call my own
To call my own

Well, it seems like so long ago
But it really ain't you know
I started out a crazy kid
Miracle I made it through the things I did
The things I did

Someday I'll go where there ain't no rain or snow
‘Til then, I travel alone
And I make my bed with the stars above my head
And dream of a place called home

I had a chance to settle down
Get a job and live in town
Work in some old factory
I never liked the foreman standing over me
Over me

Oh I’d rather walk a winding road
Rather know the things I know
See the world with my own eyes
No regrets, no looking back, no goodbyes
No goodbyes

Someday I'll go where there ain't no rain or snow
‘Til then, I travel alone
And I make my bed with the stars above my head
And I dream of a place called home

-------------------

I feel this way sometimes and when I hear this song, I can't but help to cry...

THEME SONGS
Posted: 8/2/2005 10:48:49 AM
"LA Song"

Pretty girl on every corner
Sunshine turns the sky to gold
Warm warm, it's always warm here
I can't take the cold

Streets littered with diamonds
Every one's glistening
This whole world shines so brightly
I can't see a thing

Pretty as a picture
Seems like a golden rain
Settles me with love and laughter
I can't feel a thing

The sky's gonna open
People gonna pray and crawl

It's gonna rain down fire
It's gonna burn us all

The sky's gonna open
People gonna pray and sing

Oh, I can't feel a thing

Pretty as a picture
She is like a golden dream
Fills me with love and laughter
And I-I I can't feel a thing

The sky's gonna open
People gonna pray and crawl

It's gonna rain down fire
It's gonna burn us all

The sky's gonna open
People gonna pray and sing

And I can't feel a thing

Oh, I can't feel.

Performed by Christian Kane
Written by David Greenwalt
Appeared on the T.V. Show "Angel"

Right now it just speaks to who I am and how I feel.. there are so many more songs that I can choose from that speak to a different part of my soul, but I guess until I write my own theme song I wont really have one..

I grew up off and on here in Vegas since about 4 years old. I am originally from Texas, and still have some country roots, but I am ecclectic enough that you can barely tell... except when my accent sneaks through.

It would be great to meet some people locally... its hard to get to know people just through e-mail or the site... though the forum says a lot about people. It would still be nice to meet some of yall...

Romance... what's it good for?
Posted: 8/2/2005 8:52:57 AM
Romance is not about the money you have or the lack of it. It is about connecting with people on a level that is so much more than materialistic. It is not about being perfect or wanting someone perfect. Its about being perfect for each other, someone whos faults you sometimes admire and when they are gone you miss them.

I still think that we know what romance is, even if life sometimes seems to tell us otherwise. We seek out people and places that make us happy, that make us yearn for more, that make us want to be better than we already are. to me that is part of what romance is. Truly appreciating someone, that your thought seem to always come to them and you smile in just knowing that person.

Maybe its just me, and maybe I am hopeless, but damnit Im gonna try. If I don't then what reason is there?

As far as the topic of people being against organized religion, I can say that I have been apart of several religions, I have tried to find my place in this world to see if there is more out there. If when I die I am more than worm food. I am ok with that, but it is the fact of no longer existing that sort of scares me, not dying. I think there are good and bad things in religions organized or not. However, my belief is they focus to much on the details of certain things without looking at the overall picture, to know what its really all about.

You are right, when you say it is not just being aware that we should reach for, it is act afterwords, knowing how to act to feel and be, just knowing is half the battle. This reminds me of 2 quotes similar in nature. One is from Buddha, and the other is I believe a chinese proverb, I am not positive on that however. Here are the quotes:

The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings. . -Buddha.

Be careful of your thoughts, for your thought become your words.
Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions.
Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits.
Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character.
Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny.

Wow!, I have to say I never expected any kind of a real response, maybe a few interesting links or thoughts and quotes, but all of you surprised me. I am overwhelmed with emotion and elation and this display of thoughfullness and display of intelligence.

I have always sought a way of life where every moment I enjoy and am aware of. However I am increasingly becoming aware of the "routines" we create to make like for flowing. Like you said, we are on autopilot when we drive to work, when we walk up the stairs, and so on. It is like the more I do these things the less my life means to me.

I found myself in a similar routine thinking of all the crap going on in my life and the things I had to do and the failures in my life. I realized that it was all connected, my depression and my want for more. It reminds me of the saying that a watch pot never boils. Life is like that, we are so busy worrying about the past and the future and wanting things to be right and so on that we actually miss the little things we miss life because we are watching it waiting for it to boil per say. That day I took 10 min and found my blank space and took everything in and let it all go. Not only was my day more real or "crisp" but my whole week is still profoundly more amazing and beatiful.

Don't get me wrong, things are still bad in some ways and things are still good in others, but that is what its all about, understanding that without the bad we cannot have the good.

I appreciate all of your responses...

I noticed the girl I wanted to talk to like the little dancing banana

"How come the banana is green, is he not mature enough to be yellow?"

too corney? irrelivent or just stupid?

Thanks Holls

There are a lot of great little venues, clubs, resturants, and such in the las vegas area. A lot are unknown. I wanted to know what everyones best little "unknown" place was that they like to go to have fun.

mine are:

Geisha Steakhouse - Sandhill & D.I.
** Absolutly wonderful atmoshphere, better and cheaper than BenniHannas.

Crown & Anchor Pub - Maryland Pkwy & Trop.
** Great british food, huge selection of beer, and a enjoyable place to watch soccer.

I have more, but I would like to see what other people say first.

Here is one on Cunnilingus http://www.sexuality.org/l/incoming/acunn.html
but you can also search around sexuality.org for other things as well.

I myslef had the same question a few years back and I was taught some interesting techniques that still work. Many of the ones in the site above are great, but you should also check out tantra and other sex guides... other than that the best lessons are taught hands on... find someone willing to teach and learn just as much as you. Hope this helps... let me know if you need any more links.

How does an older woman seduce a younger man?
Posted: 12/11/2004 10:36:17 PM
An older women (which I am most often attracted to) usually seduce me by the simple fact that they know what they want. A young stud, willing to try things he could only dream about. It is a fiery look in her eyes that tells me more than words can say. That and a nice bottle of wine or scotch.

See what yall got me thinking about... now Im lonier than before.... (sigh)

To the men: What do men want in a woman?
Posted: 12/11/2004 10:16:54 PM
I have to say that I have always wondered what it is women really want from a man, but I never thought women didn't know what Men wanted. I suppose that it is really down to each person but all in all these are the traits that would make me fall in love with a woman, I would do everything in my power to make her happy and her life rewarding.

1.) Honesty
2.) Integrity
3.) Open Minded
4.) Intelligent/Witty
5.) Self-Assured

There is nothing more sexy that a smart, witty and honest woman. If you find a woman like that, that wants a man that will move anywhere in the world for her... let me know.

Why is it so hard to find someone to love you???
Posted: 12/11/2004 10:09:30 PM
I think it is more in the company you keep than the lack of you being wanted. Obviouslly people want you, but it is a matter of who you choose to be with and ultimitly what the relationship is. I mean if its just a sex thing, then thats it... no jealousy over another guy but if you are looking for something long term, then look for someone who is going to want that as well.

I myself was cheated on by my last girlfriend, and it hurt. But from the beggining I knew deep down she was this way because it is how I met her, and I suppose it was fitting to leave her the same way.

Keep your head up and just try to focus on what you really are looking for in a person, and try not to get to jaded by all of this heartache.

best wishes
